the banks will help though im sure they must be aware of these sorts of scammers

Got a call from matchmaker, stupidly agreed to go ahead on the phone without checking them out, I paid them a deposit of £58.00 . but after checking them out I called them to cancel, but the guy would not accept my cancellation, so I emailed them, I did not sign the agreement form they sent, after a month I have got them to cancel their services but they will not refund the deposit saying they have carried out work on behalf, looks like I have lost my deposit.
Please do not have any dealings with this fly by night business they are just a con.

Yell didnt sell it, they search it like other people do looking for your company!
I worked here for about a week, and they really are a scamming place. they make out everything they are doing is perfectly fine. They just teach you to overcome any objections by ignoring the customer?! How is that building up good communications and trust with someone if youre ignoring everything they say. Dont buy there product, they are idiots and didnt even pay me even though my team leader said to me specifically they would pay me. Not letting it go!

Dont let any of the salesteam ignore your objections, they will just throw questions at you that you cannot disagree to. Id just put the phone down tbh.

Ashamed to say that I too have been scammed by the company which now seems to be called Matchmaker Marketing. Last September they were called Storm Media - and the sales pitch was exactly as other people have reported below - part of the Google marketing team, your holiday company will be on page one of Google, this is just for a month etc. etc. I too have cancelled the service by email, phone and by recorded delivery letters, but despite their verbal assurance that the direct debit payment would be cancelled, they ignored the letters and phone calls and continued to take unauthorised sums from my account.

The most recent bank debit, however, was not labelled "Storm Media" but a www. address which traces back to Matchmaker Marketing. The fraud department of my bank is now investigating this - as far as they are concerned, a company which is not Storm Media is illegally debiting my account without any agreement or authorisation, and they have also cancelled my card. (Not that I believed I had given them authorisation for monthly direct debits in the first place, incidentally).

My suspicion is that Matchmaker is the latest company name adopted by another company which scammed me in exactly the same way about five years ago, called It's Cold Outside. Coincidentally, this company was based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, as Matchmaker is. Stupid of me to get scammed twice by the same fraudulent bunch! It's astonishing that they can continue to get away with it.  My bank suggests that the Office of Fair Trading is the place to report all this - and no doubt they have a very thick file on this company. Let's hope they can be stopped.

I worked at this place for a week. worst time of my life, hated everyone in the office all jacked up cocky [***] with about 3 brain cells to share betwen them. I apologise if i was the one to call you up, i needed to pay rent and I hated every minute of it. Don't blame the person on the phone because they are just reading off a script and the training does make you believe its a genuinely good product. I believe the PPC adspace could actually save money if your going to be doing it anyway because you'll always feature on the first page and your balance doesnt run out, but ive no evidence to support it and I dont really care. dont know why im defending them really. Plus they longed off paying me for about 2months afterwards. [***].

I too was contacted by this company a couple or so months ago. The offer sounded good, but I was not ready to embark on the advertising at that point. I got hounded to give them an idea of when I would be, and then in order to secure this slot the salesman offered to secure it on their own  credit card  overnight as the system would wipe it otherwise.
I told them that was their perogative and that I would call them when I was ready to. For the following week I had endless repeat calls from this salesman wishing to take my details, and I mean endless, every other minute, which I ignored.

Interestingly, in the few weeks following I did receive calls from other companies selling similar products with slight variations in their offers. Again some of these numbers originated from Manchester as I recall, are they the same company calling themselves differing things?
One offer was from a company N.era, also based in Manchester if you have been contacted by them you'll know who I mean. Again I checked their website and it is full of spelling mistakes. Who are these people? Any connection? Who did they get my number from?
I am glad I looked on this site before contacting either company. The product does sound good and there appears to be satisfied customers. Their methods though are unscrupulous and personally I have to question  whether I wish to work with people like that and what kind of aftersales help there will be following any contract.

Got a call from this lot - apparently putting my ad on Facebook. They showed me what looked like a genuine website, apparently with offices in Malta.
    Realco Building

but when I put the address in google earth it took me to Matchmaker in Altringham, they seem to operating from a terrace house.
They were pretty quick to take the money from my account.  It seems to me that they could be acting fraudulantly since they are purporting to be reperesenting so many different companies. If they do what they say they will do and I get results then I won't complain, otherwise I will be asking my credit card company fraud section to investigate them.
I was given the same phone number as this but when I did 1471 it was a different number.

OK, some confusion here - I was shown a website for a different company. I phoned them and  apparently they "took over" Matchmaker. Maybe the new company is genuine ( says she optimistically) but why keep the same phone number and premises?

Even more confusion - they visited my website and I just checked my tracker - the details show the visit to the site was made from Malta.
Let this be a lesson to me not to buy any products from telesales companies.

They're now called Precision Media Ltd and are using an 0845 number (0845 2860 600).  I was called about an hour ago by a very polite and articular woman called Alice.  I asked her for written info and she directed me to Bing to search for Precision Media (now I know why she directed me to Bing - their company is on the top there, whereas when I went through Google I found loads of stuff about complaints against them).  Looked good, but I'm not savvy when it comes to marketing and I wanted to check it out and she said she'd ring back. I must admit having offices in Bolton and Malta sounded a bit odd.  They were offering me Facebook Pay Per Click for £140/month, area exclusivity, unlimited clicks, and my own account manager.

In the meantime I found so much bad press against them that it has made me glad I looked around.  Alice rang back and I said I wasn't interested because of the bad press.  I did consider she might have been taken in by Precision Media herself and didn't know about it, but she obviously knew about the bad press already and said that most of it was ex-employees who have got the hump but if I wanted to believe that it was up to me - she still sounded polite, but by this time she sounded like she wanted to end the call quickly!

I did wonder where they got my details from (I'm not on Yell) but unfortunately I forgot to ask - whatever it was it means people can find me!

Yes, they are now calling themselves Precision Media - I wanted to give them a chance to come up with the goods and show they were not connected with the previous scammer company mentioned on here. However - they appear to be the same lot. Quick to take the money, then want to hang on to it despite not doing what they say they will do. I will be having a word with Trading Standards about them.

    I just found these
I've just hung up on a call from Precision Media, apologising for the fact that my last campaign with them didn't go so well. Apparently it was "because it was over the Christmas period" and "because we read left to right, people were clicking on the natural links rather than the sponsored ones". Really - that's what i've just been told. Hilarious.

Now, I've never had an account with anyone called Precision Media, but I was sucked in (briefly) by Matchmaker Marketing. And searching for both names together, I found this: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/scam--precision-media-c363200.html

According to that page, they also go by the names Storm Media and Key World (or Keyworld) Media.

Speaking from first-hand experience of Matchmaker, avoid, avoid, avoid.

    Hope that helps!

    Rob

PRECISION MEDIA - Beware, these are Matchmaker Marketing, Storm Media and Keyworld Media rebranded AGAIN. These are the the biggest fraudsters ever. Just search for any of their former names above and you'll see that they've had to flee to Malta to evade police, tax and every other regulatory body.

Don’t just complain on here – do something about it. They have gone to Malta now.
    http://www.precisionmedia.eu/MSD173
    Their address in Malta is
    Precision Media Ltd
    Realco building
    Triq IL-Punent
    Msida, MSD1731
    Malta
The Maltese won’t want them operating there if they know what is going on. Write to the Msida council. There is a contact form on their website.

    T Debono
They advertised job vacancies a couple of weeks ago on the Maltese newspaper for telesales people. Two days ago I got a call from the number +44161 239 1043 from a so called 'Megan Colclough' telling me that they are from Precision Media and that I got chosen for an interview. It was weird and fishy from the beginning as why would a company that is based in Malta and that I applied for from Malta,   call me from a foreign number? Also, why was it when i went on their site they didnt even have a Maltese land line number?!!!!

    These people are fraudsters!!!!

How interesting that the last person to post on here has the same surname as the first guy to call me from from Precision Media - Debono - it's not exactly a common name is it.
i just had another call from them - on 08452860600. He denied they are in Malta but that is the address on their website.
    Precision Media Ltd
    Address: Realco Building
    Triq IL-Punent,

Oh, and they now call themselves Precision when they call.

Mrs Mudd, I am Maltese from Malta and yes the surname Debono is quite common here. As you can read from my post, i obviously do not work there. i was scammed by them telling me that i have an interview. they called me from the foreign number i wrote in my post. and yes they are in Malta from the explanations they gave me to go for the interview. and they are still posting job vacancy adverts on the newspapers and recruitment agencies with the Msida address.

It is called a Voip phone Debona .

As Precision Media deal with mainly Uk Customers the Number attatched is a Uk Landline Number.

If you are Unsure what a Voip phone is with your obvious lack of intelligence please search.
