- Ruth| 1 replyI foolishly signed up with this company a year ago and was unhappy with the service - ie the adwords ads were badly put together and linked to the wrong landing page etc. I had to make numerous calls to my account manager to get it sorted and it resulted in no extra sales. so that was £117 down the drain!
Recently in an even more foolish moment I signed up again after being assured that they had joined up with another company - Zenith - and everything has improved.
After 7 days nothing has happened despite my calling and requesting to speak to my account manager who is always on the other line!
My teenage son was right - just a scam!
This morning I have requested a full refund and have been assured by Paul Cross that I will receive a cheque within 21 days - company policy apparently.
Watch this space to see if the refund arrives.- Caller: Matchmaker Marketing
- Warren MarrisSame company has a number of offices and many different names. They work in much the same way as more reputable companies (I won't name it but I worked for them) who do "Door To Door" Marketing.
You sign up to do Cold Calling, Learn how to teach others in typical "Pyramid Scheme" and then you are offered your own office and a encouraged to start a new branch with a new name elsewhere.
Reason? That way the same scam can be pulled but under many other names... All under the umberella of one company.
We were contacted by a Company called ZENITH who claimed to be part of Google on the first call, Yell.com on teh second, Google again on the Third and Forth and finally Yahoo! on the Fifth... Obviously they are NOT affiliated with any of them.
ZENITH have a base in Suffolk (01502 area) - But are well known to be associated with none other than MATCHMAKER MARKETING, and the ZENITH name has been encountered up and down the country.
What should you do? There is little you can do except refuse any attepts to offer you so called "Generic Websites" no matter what... But to get revenge on them... Try this...
Let them pitch you, then question them a little so tehy have to repeat themselves, Query it again and again... Keep them on the phone as long as you can... While they are desperately trying to hard sell you - Many other targets are beinglost and they are losing money.- Caller: Zenith (AKA Matchmaker Marketing)
- BabsVery persistant aggressive sales calls, wont take no for an answer and can get abusive on the phone - AVOID

- york17Quite funny as I just got a call from a young girl who had been with them a week. She stated she could hear her colleagues lying to people but she would treat me fairly.
You have to laugh - FrankI took a field job with them and after training spent two and a half days in the field. Several factors, INCLUDING this site and its content caused me to resign after just one week, one signed deal and no pay!
The only 'niggle' I have is that out of pure interest and that ability we have to frustrate ourselves, I have regularly checked on Google the busines that I signed up and they are CONSTANTLY in position one in the sponsored links????????
Cloud to seemingly clear skys eh! lol- Caller: Frustrated Corp
- BrainFor those looking for a contact address, you might find more information on companies house:
http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/b6febb7f070 ... 1e1/compdetails
You can also order company details from Companies House:
http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/b6febb7f070 ... cprodorder?ft=1
From that, you should at least be able to get their Head Office address, plus the names and addresses of all directors (plus their profit/losses to see if this scam is in fact very profitable ;) - we shall not be namedI can not believe all of the wrong comments about matchaker marketing, i do know that there are alot o companies out there trying to scam you people, but this company isnt one of them, i have been with matchmaker for 8 months and i have had endless enquiries from the advertising they provide me, i also recomendeded them to a few of my frends with their own trades. and same again no complaints. i think people just look for a blog site and start to slag off a company because of slight little hitches. I for one will stay with matchmaker for as long as needed as they work wanders for me and my business.

it is a pressurised environment but they do exactly what they tell you on the phone.
i know people who are with matchmaker (past employers) and it has always gone fine for them.

GET A LIFE! - 1234567After reading the many complaints about this company i felt compelled to let people know what a badly organised bunch of fraudsters Matchmaker Marketing are. I had the misfortune to work for this company for a short period and during that time i was appalled at they way they treat customers and staff alike.
Here's just a few facts about them:
* They have no affiliation with google and were actually ordered to stop using the Google logo on their advertising(although im sure they still use it)
* They mention that they have offices all over the world including New York, Barcelona etc This is a lie, The addresses and phone numbers they list are dummies and all redirect to manchester.
* Their staff are told not to lie but to deliberately mislead customers and part of their in house training is based around this.
* The top page of google 7 days a week means that you technically only have to show on that front page once a day.
* The exclusivity they talk about 1 company per sector per region is a lie as is anything about their database. Staff are made to go through Yell.com and other directories number after number (hence the repeated phonecalls even to former disgruntled clients)
* I have never worked anywhere with such disregard for security, staff are allowed to keep mobiles on their desks even though they will be taking Credit Card details and are also encouraged to write Credit Card details down to speed up the calls process.
It isnt just the clients these guys rip off though,on my second day there i realised that there were only 8 people in the office with more than a month's service. The training there lasts a day and a half so most staff know less about google advertising than the people they are calling, they also conduct group interviews so essentially will take on anybody.
I strongly urge people to avoid this company either as a marketing solution or a potential employer, they have no scruples and you will get burnt.
If anybody has any questions about them or anything related don't hestate to ask and i'll do my best to answer.

- John AHad many calls from this company, sometimes up to 5 a day! Each time I told them I wasn't interested and that I was registered on the TPS. One employee told me that was only for domestic numbers and so she had every right to ring me (idiot). I made a formal complaint to them on the phone and by letter. The calls stopped for a while but I had a new call from them the other day. I'm suprised they are still operating!
