They're extermely persisstent, these Matchmakers.  It would seem that there's a guy with a gun standing next to their head - this is the impression I had from the way this young lady was chippering away.  All she could holler was: "It's Google!" when I asked her a question, all she could muster as a reasinable argument was: "It's Google!".  In my view it would be in Google's best interest to withdraw their logo from this website of theirs, thereby making all of our lives easier.

I was cold called on the 26th march 09 by matchmaker saying they were google really pushy sales people i tried to tell them i was not interested and my credit card had been use for fraud that week anyway and i was waiting for my new card. i didnt want to purchase anything as i know i would get more protection from my credit card so the sales rep got the manager saying i was was wasting his time and tried calling me a liar and that i did have my credit card. after he was on the phone to me for 45 minutes and made me feel guilty he talked me into giving him my bank details for £50 deposit just to secure the space for me otherwise it would be taken up by someone else and that the information pack would be in the post and they would call me back on the friday to take rest of money, its monday 30th march today no phone calls no information packs so i have emailed them asking for my deposit back. i phoned google and they said they have had a lot of phone calls about this company and i said they are making google have a bad name, he said they could do nothing about it surley this is some sort of breach of seling on google behalf if matchmaker are saying they are google, anyway the real google rep said they do the same google ad for free for 30 days anyway and asked how much matchmaker was selling it for and i said £135 plus 20 a month he just laughed and said you could get our help free to set up for the first 30 days.this matchmaker should be investigated.

i currently work for matchmaker. Im not defending them and i dont pride myself on working for them. Im a sales person and i needed a job in a new city.

They have incredibly high staff turnover as its an intense pressure enviroment but pay is reasonable and commision is excellent.

    https://adwords.google.com/select/Professiona ... I63ywA&hl=en_GB

Im neutral in this arguement as i dont give a flying F*** about their or your businesses.
If they say they are calling from google, then they are breeching the rules as we are told never to say that and DP action is taken if found saying this.
But they DO do what they say and put you on the sponsored links on the 1st page. Not necessarily right at the top, but in the top 3 at least. As for taking too much money from you again it will be to do with the sales agent saying what he can to get you to take the deal as deals = commision + job security!
Dont blame the agents its the shi**y line managers that put them under pressure...they are all 5ft men that walk around with a napoleonic syndrome screaming all day more deals, more deals. Ur out the door if you dont get the deals!!!!!

There are hundreds of companies doing the same thing since the niche opened up. One is as bad as teh next, but people do sign up and people do see the benefits. Cold calling is a part of todays marketing techniques and its always gonna happen. TPS or no TPS, numbers are pulled from all online drectories so youll never actually stop them calling.
The reason for multiple calls is the sales agents must generate their own leads and market sectors each day, so if your listed under florists/plumbers etc etc in yell.com, expect multiple calls as lead generation is hard to keep diverse.

I see a few ex-employees of matchmaker posting on here and they are right it is rubbish and annoying, but they ahve a product that sells, repeatedly, and does what it promises.
I suppose iv written this because reading some of the comments bout us "knobs/shi**y liars/conmen/jokers/ba**sacks/pushy salespeople" whatever u call us. WE ARE NOT ALL CO*KENDS and the job is hard. So when u get a cold call, deal with it and just say bye and hang up. Simple. None of this...."now you listen here: I'm on TPS; This is the tenth time youv called me; because they will hang up and move to the next number in the list. Its a numbers game like all sales. You will never stop these sorts of companies no matter how much you all club together and complain.

Godbless all and long live england

Had a company called Sphere Marketing call me the other week guaranteeing me number 1 position on 1st page of Google. Claimed they were working on behalf of Google and that all I had to pay was £99 per month. I decided to give it a go. Then my colleague noted that he had also had a call from them a few minutes earlier and had said no. So, I called them back to cancel and they refused to cancel or give me the £99 they had already taken from my card.

After searching on the net I found a lot of reports about this company taking incorrect card payments, not providing what they promised and also taking even more money from some peoples cards. They also go by the names of Google Resell and Adword Reseller. Don't trust these guys theyre a rip off!

These people are scammers and should not be trusted, much like the other reports on here they have ripped me off too. They have also taken more money on my card than authourised, offered rubbish key words that wont help my business I didn't get to choose them as the sales man said I would and they are not interested in my complaint. I have been told no refund will be given, no sorry you have a problem lets get this sorted a deliberate scam!

They are rip off merchants so avoid at all costs. They bullied me constantly rang all the time and would not take no for an answer. They lied about what they are offering too now my bank are involved to try to recall the money from these rougues. They say they are calling from Google which they are not and guarentee a top placing on Google so you will be the only one in your area which is not even possible. They say they are Google accredited professionals what ever that means! If you need any help with your Google go to Google they help free of charge!

My advice is put the phone down and block the number if you possibly can and do not hand out card details to cold callers.

I've just had a phonecall from this company as well and I'm wondering if they are the same as Lavora Marketing? Both gave me the exact same sales pitch. Unfortunately I signed up to a 'trial period' with Lavora...needless to say they have not delivered what they promised!

You can do what they do for you yourself, just run an adwords campaign, its easy and thats all they do but charge you for it!
I dont think its a con because they will get you a sponsored link it will just be on there for a limited time thats all.
Theres plenty of companies doing it and rumour has it, all the MD's know each other and used to work together before realising how easy it is and setting up on their own.
Google wont put a stop to it because they are also getting a bit of the pie too. I have spoken to ex-staff from matchmaker who told me their turnover of staff if very high and your lucky to last 3 weeks.

I got a call from Adam Lamb at a company called Matchmaker Marketing, He told me he was calling from google and could gurantee me 1st page listing 7 days a week for £20 a phrase, Obviously i was interested in this being so cheap but when i began asking questions he got very defensive and the line went quiet for a few minutes. The next voice i heard was "Luke Osborne 1 of the sales managers at matchmaker" he tried to repitch me the idea and asked me for my credit card details, Again i found him to be very pushy when i was asking questions and replied with "give your head a wobble" and " its google, come on give it a go" minutes later the phone went down!!!
    Very unprofessional! BE WARNED

I worked there for 2 and a half days. The money you can earn is extremely lucrative. I wasnt aware that it was anything like a scam - you pick these things up over a period of weeks not days, but I can say although the money was outstanding (£1000-£1500pw for top earners), they do encourage you to bully and harrass, and even people earning nearly £4k a month have been walking out due to the stress and high pressure. I now feel guily for the sales I made as they were done without bullying but with me selling something I genuinely believed in - and the people I sold to genuinely believed in it as well!

i have been contacted recently by matchmaker,it all seemed to good to be true,(and we all know the cliche)i decided not to commit after reading these comments and mentioned it to the guy who then proceeded to be quite abusive and angry.i had 8 missed calls from 4pm to 6pm one evening!!! it wasnt the money, but when i looked into the t & c's that is where they get you ! only written notification to cancel the direct debit not the one month trial after all.!!!!

I received a call from someone called Anthony from Matchmaker marketing on Friday from this number.  Under pressure to get a website up and running for a new business, I stupidly, yes I know, gave my credit card details.  They have taken £199 from my visa account, but I haven't heard from them either by email, phone or post - as I was promised.  I'm so ashamed of being this thick.  Please avoid.  It's not a fortune, but I worked hard to earn it.

Very pushy and anoying people i paid them one month trial they said they would contact me to see if i wanted to renew before the end of the month. No call from them but they sure took my money with out my consent. I now have to cancel my card to ensure they will not take my money as they promised me that i would recieve lots of calls from customers. Nonsence. I have had no calls as my webside is in the wrong position right in the top corner where nobody looks. Dont deal with these people they dont no what there doing!

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Stupidly got sucked into this one. Was suppossed to have first page advertising with google and a web site. Didnt get either. Was suppossed to have taken £199, they took £285. Have been trying to get a refund since february, phoned countless times only to be told"suprisingly" that there is no record of my call. Each time I am promised a refund within 24 hours...each time i dont get it and I call again and gues  what....no record of my call. Lost my rag today after being promised yet again a refund in 24 hours, on friday. Sales guy was rude abusive and told me that matchmaker marketing has no negative feedback and put the phone down on me! Where do I go from here?? Any one have any ideas. Do not even consider advertising with these people!
