Why are you even commenting if you don't care?

Trying to earn a living? From scamming people out of money they can ill afford to lose? Targetting  self employed people that are struggling to stay afloat in this dire economy, pensioners and people with children - do you understand the meaning of hard work or do you work for them?

    LATEST NUMBER IS 01695 578344..
Called from withheld number (nothing really bad about this, my dentist and Specsavers do the same)
Sold the £150+vat space in a Emergency Services Magazine by Scouser Phil saying he was in Chester.. ( Very friendly ) Called back from a female from above number..  01695 Skelmersdale (Near Wigan) Was told the call would be recorded, agreed to the £150 plus vat..
I offered to supply my own artwork as my business already has this from other advertising..
Then I was told the invoice would arrive in post.. After agreeing to this "Verbal contract" I found this website.. And sent a email to the only contact i have for them.. It was the email address that Phil sent me the e-magazine from..

        From:     Stephen Greenhalgh <sales@sigma.gb.com>
        Subject:     Blue Light E-zine
        Cc:     Andrew Lownsbrough <andrew@visiongroup.uk.net>

Anyway here's my advise for anybody that may need it.. First of all Julie on page 1 wrote some very good stuff, defo take her advise. My own advise would be not to worry about the debt collectors.. I have been declared Bankrupt and had many years experience of solicitors, county courts, bailiffs and Official receivers. Bully tactics like this are not allowed by registered debt collectors. They need a warrant obtained from a court of law. So they have to take you to court first. Let them do it, ask them to do it.. You will not get a court summons as mentioned in a earlier post, they don't want the publicity..

They are making money from 2 types of people.. First the totally unsuspecting who fall for the friendly and professional opening 2 conversations from the sales guy and his office girl at "Head office" (this was nearly me). These people probably have the some cash in the bank and are too busy to research where the invested money is going.. The second type of person they take money from, will have doubts about the advertising company but will fall for bully tactics and legal threats. Solicitors/Debt Collectors/Bailiffs letters are very easy to make up.. Ignore these, they will not come to anything.. Anything legal has to go to a Magistrates Court.. Here they will have to submit evidence of the whole contract before a Judge, who believes they can use the Police as part of their Marketing strategy..

    Very unlikely!..

Anyway il see what response I get.. I have fun with injustice.. Ask Sheff City council and Cornwall Police who both tried taking money from my bank.. People only get money from me for providing a service and If they are trying to take my pants I will take pleasure from giving them a large portion of my undiluted attention..

If anybody wants to join me on this soon to be fun engagement, please mail me,
    tom@hallamshireheat.co.uk

Oh and Sigma People who read this.. Dont be shy post your response on here.. We know you read it.x

I am also having calls telling me i have verbaly agreed to be in this blue light mag. i recieved a shoddy piece of art work which is from my own web site. i was sent an email saying i had 24 hours to make amendments or it will be sent out with the mag. i cancelled the order within 3 hours stateing we didnt wish to proceed at this time. i didnt give any bank details and was starting to get worried that these were scamming. Now they are saying i am in a verbal contract and they want £290 + vat and they will play a recording of me agreeing to be in the mag. A man called john rang and said he would give a discount if i agree to be in the mag priced at £180 sigma are now saying they dont have anyone called john working for them and are passing me on to account recovery. i dont know were i stand on this but i will not pay a penny. If there is a group who are getting together to stop these people i would like to know and will enrol to stand firm so none of us have to pay. anthony

Best way forward is to contact your local trading standards office as a number of other people are  complaining about Sigma / Harris Cromwell/ Vision Group / Gateway.  Whichever company name they are claiming to be, they are the same people.  Check any documentation you have & I bet you'll find one or more of these names.

has anyone or does anyone know of anyone who have had anything more than threats of debt collectors.
like has anyone been visited by debt collectors?. as far as i see it threatening to send debt collectors is as far as they can go..correct me if im wrong but they have to apply to the courts before any debt collectors can visit you..so the best thing to happen is when you get that threat because then you know it is near the end, they have nowhere else to go, surely then they give up ..
    does anyone disagree with this???

Yea they did the same thing to me, then a bloke rang so I said would rather see the paperwork before I commit because they book you the space straight away on the 2nd call. Then saw all this about them scamming.......not having it. Rang them 5 mins ago and told the nice lady that I dont want to do it anymore as there are a lot of scammers out there, she said no problem why had i changed my mind.......reiterated about her company being a scam. Then told her that I want to cease any correspondence and if they cut the recorded convo to fit them or try and make it look like i still wanted to advertsie I have it recorded on my side, and also apart from being a small business owner my day job is as a commercial and business solicitor. If they want to send anything now its all going in the bin. I'm covered. She also said thats all sorted and I told her "thanks, happy scamming" and she thanked me. These people arent the sharpest spoons so dont worry too much :)

Been through the same problems with Sigma and Blue Light Magazine.
We are at the stage where they have threatened legal action and have sent us a partial conversation of the "agreement" which they claim is binding. We cannot find this magazine published anywhere and have disputed the invoice repeatedly.

As many of you are, we were concerned of what would happen next so we contacted a lawyer (would recommend this course of action as many give you first interview free of charge). She agreed that it sounded suspicious and advised us not to pay.
She listened to the recording and although the word "order" is used she felt the caller was misleading and spoke over my husband's request for information in writing. She said, in the unlikely event that it would go to court, it would be obvious to a judge that this was a follow on conversation and that much of the information had occurred in the previous unavailable phone call.

We live in Scotland and the process differs from England, however she explained that the worst case scenario for us was that they take us to the small claims court for the £350 amount we "owe"and the most they would recieve if they win would be £500 all in. That's £150 towards their legal fees. A lawyer would cost them approx £130 an hour so it would not be worth their while to pursue us.
We can represent ourselves in the small claims court, costing us nothing. She gave us lots of avice on how to proceed if it ever went to court and she felt we had a strong case.
If Sigma loose they have to pay us our loss of earnings and costs (which you have to be able to prove) up to £500.

Hi i'm also a dog groomer and i have had the same call as you, both numbers unknown however i did agree to the advert to see how far this would go, they then told me i would be called by there sister company Sigma regarding the art work. Sigma tried to offer me a discount if i paid with my card there and then.
I certainly did not, they also told me they were connected with the police through this publication, i have posted this on Facebook hoping other individuals pass it on as well.

I agree - it will take them time & money to try to take us to court with very little chance of proving that they are providing a legitimate business opportunity.  We haven't heard from them for a while so I assume they have given up trying to get any money from us.
