constant engaged when l return call

This number has called me three times at around 7.30 pm. The chap says 'Are you Mister Smith' (It's not Mr Smith but the name he says is unrecognisable), I say no and he says 'Sorry to disturb you' and hangs up. Sounds busy in the background. I don't have TPS but I never receive any other sales calls.

We have had this call a few times and have had dealings with Everest. As previous customer I assume TPS does not apply so I have added the number to our phone list and at least we can see it come up EVEREST when they call. A good idea is to pop the phone into a metal fruit bowl and let them echo round for half an hour !

This number called me today whilst I was out. I only know this due to my caller display (don't have voice mail). One area served by this number is Cuffley Herts, the home of Everest Double Glazing. They often ring me because I purchased some windows 20 years ago. I keep telling them I do not need anything & to stop ringing - do they ? Do cars run on water !! I have subscribed to TPS but it doesn't stop them. If I can categorically prove it was them I will post my proof here. Remember Guys, People Power really works - it just takes enough similar minded people to shift mountains. Good luck. Syd.

Just had a call from this number. They hung up on hearing my answering machine. You know how everyone hates a traffic warden, but these cold callers have got to top the list. When someone asks them what they do for a living do they say it with pride? Who are these heartless people, or are they the poor victims of circumstance? Most businesses don't do it because they consider it a waste of time. There are laws concerning harassment and i think cold callers should constitute this.

Jail these [***] now !.

Thought I recognised the number - I had Everest give me a quote last year (which came to about four times what I eventually paid a local firm for the same work) and this number's been clogging my calls register ever since then.  Googled the number and found this site.  The nmber's now in my phone, with a tag of "Everest - TTFO".  The TT stands for Tell To - I'll leave the rest to folks' imagination.

Stupid way to go on, as I'm warning everyone off Everest now.

They've just started calling me from this number, they had been using 01752 677202 until recently. That number is on this site too. Looks like they're out of control! Can't see how they get any sales with this method.

have been getting strange calls and today i checked the number.  amazing that you should all have the same problem. i'm doing some detective work and will report back.

Have just had a call from this number and tracked it back to Everest Double Glazing.  Am waiting to hear back from a Superviser ...

Apparently Everest have an automatic dial out system with random dialling. This system calls your number (which has been stored on a database) and you are the lucky "Homeowner" to recieve a call from this double glazing company.  The system, apparently, is not working at the moment and as soon as they call you, you are cut off.  They are working on fixing this system, but you can call them on 0800 010 123.  Ask to speak to a Superviser and have your number removed from their database.  Hope this is helpful?!

If this is Everest, why are they calling me on my mobile?  There's no way that they would have the number ....

Much the same - called mynumber shortly after 8pm and asked me for, my mother answered and explained it was her and then they hung up

just had a call..i picked up the phone..but no one was there...I hope its not everest as I told them a month ago to take me off their list!

Same problem, I am registered with TPS but still they ring, I answered the phone and said "I am not interested thanks", the girl on the other end said "what is it you are not interested in", I hung up, the number has been left on my caller display several times since. We just ignore the call now when we see the number and we will never deal with Everest so their sales techniques definitely work, NOT.

I have just had a call from this number I am getting tired of calls which are pre recorded or just hang up is there not a law against this sort of thing who is this number belonging to01707 873629 it really bugs me I think it is a call from my Dad who is not too well, and these idiots are wasting time

They have just done it again, rang and then hung up on answering I am going to get in touch with my service provider for nuisance calls, thank goodness I found this website otherwise I would not know who the hell it was. I just googled in the prefix first and then found this site it is somewhere Potters bar way according to directory enquiries they will not give me any further information though.
These people scare the elderly and those on their own if they come knocking at my door they will meet my Rottweiller who really likes to smile her pearly whites at strangers
