My girlfriend has recnetly got a vodaphone phone from phones for you and is having the same problem. a women rings up asking to confirm your details , then asks for the name spelling... if your only confirming the detials you dont need the spelling as its already on there system (catch1) they then say they can lower her insurance. now after having a problem with phones4u insurance already and knowing how bad it is we hadnt taken there insurance we had got Vodaphone owns insurance which is £8 p/m and they do 1 week replacment hand sets and give loan phones and is by far the best insurance you can get and cheaper! (cheaper even than cold calling insurance)

Phones4u have given your details to this company which unless you said you wanted your details shared with 3rd party is a breach of the data protection act do with this as you will but DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY OF YOUR DETAILS!!!

DO NOT BE FAULED BY THEM THEY WILL JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT GIVEN YOU ANYTHING FOR IT!!

I recieved this call yesterday, phone insurance etc, i had my  phone from phones for you.
Thing is this happend 2 yrs ago when i got my previous phone from phones for you and i took out the cheap insurance offer the company who called was called advance telecom which cost £70 for 1 yr. When i lost my phone and i tried to claim i called the number that the insurance people gave me and the phone just rang and rang..... after numerous days trying to get though i realised this company was non existant.
I called ofcom about it and found out that i was scammed.
Be carefull with these people because it sounds all too similar.

**WARNING! BEWARE!** this is a SCAM company. they are after your personal details to take money from your bank and to sell the information. They contacted me from this number about phone insurance and told me the price is lower. I foolishly 'confirmed' my details as they sounded like they were from my exsisting insurance supplier and they emptied my bank account! they wanted my name, address d.o.b card details and sort code and account number. This company is under investigation by trading standards in swansea. this is total fraud I have spoken to the police and my bank who had their telephone number on their records. I spoke to a man who claimed to be the director of the company - wayne evans who said they are selling legitimate insurance, well if this is legitimate the police didn't think so.  SCAM. I'm very angry as to how this company feels it is ok to rip people off. I am in the process of taking things further.

**WARNING DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS. **

I just got a call from them. I'm with Vodaphone and got my phone through Mobiles2YourDoor over 12 months ago: so its taken them a while to get around to me. I answered the phone and a woman said "I'm ringing from Vodaphone..." so just hung up. She tried again straight afterwards but I just pressed the red button without answering. Now, my line of thinking is that anyone who is legit would leave a voicemail if it was important. So I have just checked the number here [great service incidently!] and then added this number to a contact named SCAMMERS.

Ive just had a call from this number but don't like to answer numbers I don't know so typed it into google - so glad I did now!!

I've had a call from these people before (but from an 0845 number) and they was saying they was my phone insurer and my monthly payment would go down 50% but they wanted me to confirm to them all my card details which straight away made me think it was a dodgy call.  They started reading out parts of my bank details but they had one part of it wrong so I knew it wasn't right..  When I rang the actual insurance company they said it was nothing to do with them and gave them the number..  Its quite worrying how they had all my details including my bank details too.

Don't give them any details at the end of the day you don't know who you are talking to and if they was offering lower rates they would write to you instead not cold call you

I have had 2 calls on my new mobile in the last 2 days.  I too do not answer calls I do not recognize.  I have only given a few people my number.  What's interesting is that I contacted Phones 4 U and ask them why on the letter they sent me that if I did not want my details passing on I should refer to Clause 16.  I pointed out to them I could not find information referring to Clause 16. The gentleman told me that it didn't matter as they do not pass on my personal information.  I am concerned that if Phones 4 U have passed my details to an outside Company that they will be breaking the Data Protection Act and will be asking them for an explanation!

Had a call from them this afternoon, they said i believe you're vodafone contract is coming to the end and i said yes which it is.  Then he started saying he could get me a good deal.  i asked him are you actually vodafone and he said no he's a third party so i explained i'd rather deal with vodafone direct and then he hung up on me.  Had these type of calls a lot when i first took out the contract so i logged my number with the telephone preference service, this is the first dodgy call i've got for around 12 months.  Be warned they don't give up easily, at one point i was having several phone calls a week of them.  very annoying!

Gave my details and feel stupid...seemed OK at first as I was looking for cheaper insurance. 2nd thoughts since and have cancelled my debit card. Still worried about account details and address etc.

Advice as to what to do now. Are they legit or have I been a ****head?

    Spread this. http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/
Its a service for free that companies like the ones that bother you have to refer to before they call a number. Its a legal obligation of the company to check with TPS that the number they are calling isnt registered. I've registered and dont get anymore nuisance calls.

If you get a call from this number they are either trying to sell you a new contract because your existing contract is coming to an end or they want to sell you mobile phone insurance because you have a new contract.

In either case, they have managed a way to sus out whether you have a new contract or an about-to-expire contract!

If they call offering mobile phone isurance I suggest you call CHARLES STEELE on 01792 224054 to make a complaint. As principal he is obliged to deal with your complaint under the compliance procedure. If he does not, contact the Financial Services Authority on 0300 500 5000 informing them  of your problem and Mr. Steele's failure to deal with your complaint!

I registered my phone number with the TPS months ago because of numerous companies in the Swansea area but these companies ignore any TPS registration.

The full name of the companmy is: REAL ESTATE INTERNATIONAL (FINANCIAL SERVICES) LTD

My Son had a call from this company saying they were Real Phones International.  Unfortunately he gave them all his details even though the contract was in my name, O2 and only taken out last week.  Im not actually yet sure what they tried to sell him but it didnt sound like just insurance. we have cancelled his card and are having to go to the bank to find out what they have taken and report as fraud.  DO NOT give you details over the phone, my Son has just learnt a lesson the hard way.
