I've just received a call, didn't answer it.  As I'm curious, I "googled" the number.  Now I've found this site, I won't be answering it in future.

I don't know who this Splash company are, but I've just had a call from them even though my mobile phone contract isn't up for some time yet. If they continue to call me I'll report the matter to Ofcom. By law, a predictive dialer operating via a call centre setup is required to meet a target of no more than 3% dropped calls I believe. This is when is call is generated by the dialer but there is a considerable delay between the call being dialed and the operator speaking at the other end. People at home think there's no one there and hang up. If Splash are getting a high level of these dropped calls, I would suggest they need to seriously look at the way they do things as they could be in breach of the law.

Just got home from work, and my girlfriend asks me if I know this number. They called her and all she could hear was someone laughing in the other end - I had a similar today call on the way home, while I was on the train and when picked it up no one was saying anything - Interestingly enough the number is the exact same.

I'm happy I googled this, and I hope they call me tomorrow so I can tell them to F**K OFF!

This number has been ringing me every so often over the past few months.

I've just registered my number with TPS (http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/) and hopefully this'll do the job. It seems like a good precaution to take anyway so I'd recommend it, especially if the calls are so frequent that they're causing problems for people.

It's also annoying when they call you up, and when you answer the phone, they hang up!!
It's so rude, and extremely annoying. Aren't there new harrasment laws now? How do they get away with it?

Just started getting this number - took the advice below and signed up with TPS - that way, if they keep calling, I can make an official complaint.

Had them call me this evening.  I have my own company and part of that is involved with dealing with business users on mobile phone contracts so we know what goes on.  We DON'T do this ourselves but I know a lot of companies that do.  As someone else has said, they work of automated dialers in a call centre that dials 'x' amount of numbers and then connects them to operators who are free.  If the diallers aren't paced properly then they will get lots of dropped calls (against the rules).  The problem is that if the diallers are paced too slow then they have agents sat waiting to pull calls and that's dead time.

They are probably also using ranged numbers which means that start at 111111 and work up from there.  They don't have to buy data from anywhere.  They can get their numbers cleaned for about .5p each as well so that they know who you're with and whether there is a live phone at the end of the number or if it's switched off or any other condition.  If the networks find out that they're using number ranges then they can lose their dealer codes.  The problem is that they are probably setting up companies all the time and getting new codes for the next company before they fall foul of the networks on the old one.

BT operate the 'Choose to Refuse' scheme which allows you to bar calls from numbers before they get to you.  It's a shame the network operators don't introduce a similar scheme.

Receiving several calls a day off them,F*ckers, dont they have anything better to do, i answered once and thought F*ck it im gonna annoy them now, so i let them chat on for 10 minutes making it sound like i was really interested then when they asked me how i would like to pay i said oh sorry im not interested in paying you to scam people, and then i put the phone down but the F*ckers still try and ring me at least 2 times a day.
