I had a call from this number today. They were really hard to hear as they sounded as if they were in a railway station or a busy office.

They claimed to be a government accredited agency and wanted to find out if I had received the refund I was due from my bank for charges and mis-sold PPI. I told them I didn't respond positively to speculative calls of this nature - they replied they weren't a sales company (I'm sure that's one of those statements where they say the opposite of what they mean or is  truthful!!) and that it was my right to receive this refund.

I insisted that I do not conduct any business over the phone and, if they think they have something to offer me then they should put it into writing and put it in the post. I also told them that, if they are a genuine company they would already have my address and to send it to the address they have on file - and refused to confirm the address.

The interesting thing about it all is, although the phone is on a contract with Orange, it is not registered in my name or at my address!!! Will be interesting to see if anything arrives through the post.

If I ring the number back (from a blocked identity number) then the voice message says that I was contacted by Salcom Communications and that they will get back in touch over the next couple of days!!

Ring me every day around lunchtime...this has gone on ..with only a few breaks for months now... if i pick up nonone speaks.. pain in the [***]. I changed my number and they rang the next day on the new number so the only place they could have got the information is TMobile/ Orange

Just phoned me & asked whether I have received a refund from my bank? I laughed & commented that the banks don't "do" refunds & hang up.

FYI: I am neither on T-Mobile or Orange contract, so go figure.

had a call from these people lifestyle claims.  they asked for me by my given name which i think is very rude i haven't given them permission.  he asked how i was today so i said 'im fine but i don't want anything'  he said 'what about some free money?'  i told him i work for the citizens advice bureau(cab) and am well aware that there is no such thing as free money.  then he mentioned ppi so i told him if i wanted advice i would speak to one of my colleagues as the cab gave independent advice.  he said that was what they did.  he didn't seem to realise that if he worked for a company dealing with claims he would be giving advice biased towards his company.  i asked where he got my name from and he said it was on their database, linked to the mobile number which i find very strange as the phone is still registerd in my late husband's name.  he also had my address so i asked to be removed from their databsase.  unlike some of the previous comments, i do not have a contract with orange.  if they call me again i shall take the name of the caller and pass it to the tps as this phone was registered with them when my husband was diagnosed with cancer as we didn't want him to be bothered by unwanted sales calls.

I was getting one call every day from these people using one number - I drive for a living so almost always miss their call (thankfully!). I ignore it every time, haven't answered it once, actively hang up on them. The calls stopped after 3 or 4 days, but just found another missed call from same people using this number.

Jus as a sub-note, I'm NOT an Orange customer.

I've been receiving unwanted calls from this number for some time now. The first of these was very early one morning and I thought it must be an emergency as a friend had recently been admitted to hospital. It was from a loan company and the person I spoke to was quite abrubt. I asked him to remove my details from the system as I did not want any more calls. He told me that this was not possible. So by that logic someone can add your personal information to a shared datbase but no-one can subsequently take it off!!!

Sales person said I could claim thousands of pounds, even on cards not in use, and for old mortgages.
He wanted a fee of £179.99 upfront for the paperwork to be sent out. His main point was for the small fee I could recoup thousands of pounds. The fee was a retainer for lawyers to start investigating my many claims, sums of £25,000 back was mentioned. He was very pushy towards the end of the conversation, asking if a friend or reliative could loan me a credit card. The caller basicly said paying out £179. to get back Thousands was a no brainer, implying I would be dumb to pass on this opportunity, I felt presured, and got him to ring back on Monday, and have not answered his call.

I am to polite and answered the call knowning it would be from one of these companies, but just incase I was wrong I accepted the call, after listening to what I could claim, I said I had no cards or anything, they said do you have the same card and read a card number, I checked it and said I not sure, even though it was the correct card,,, so how on earth have they got my card information from,

Dont give out any information. and do what I do, if you have used your cards a lot or from any suspisious companies request a new one. I now waiting for a new card, I did explain this to my bank as well and they where more than happy to send me a new card...

It will save them money incase they try to con you!!!!!!!

you either work from this company or you have a right to claim, I do not, having been 2 different people well into the bank laws and stuff and said I would not be able to claim more than £50.00 so this company will not be able to get me much at all, and I be out of pocket but then I got a good law suit suing them for £5,0000 for false promises so I might speak to the bank and a few people to see what I can do,

if I could sue them if I do not get the £5,000 that they said I could get

I actually had a job there for all of like a day because of the very interesting pay packet.
Basically they sit you through a training session for a whole week where they big themselves up and make them sound like the are doing a service for people.
Then they stick you on an automatic dial phone with loads of numbers (the majority of which come with names) and then you have to feed these people all this crap they taught you in the "training" and if someone doesn't answer or hangs up you can specifically input the outcome of every number so if you hang up or don't answer you go back into the system.
FYI what they do is 100% illegal, hence why I quit the first day.
After that I did some research and The Ministry of Justice don't legally permit any company to take an upfront fee.
If you threaten them with the Ombudsmen and the MOJ then they will tend to bin your number from their list and ring you again x amount of months down the line when they have a new venture like phone insurance or personal injury claims.
Seriously something you need to watch out for and never give them any money or information about yourself at all.

They will get your number because if you have like store cards for supermarkets or like shops then sometimes you miss the little place you tick to not share your information with 3rd party companies, from here the information is input onto a database and then bought by companies like this.
