I got a call from this number, called themselves some management company and then line got disconneted. called the number back but its continuously busy.

Called me, but as soon as I answered the line was busy? Weird. I wish they could be cut off! Come on BT get it sorted!

Same as you guys. there's noise in the background but as soon as you answer, they cut off. i called the number back but all i got was 'the other person has hung up' from the automated voice.
its not just this number though, it happens all the time, usually about 8-9am, i use 1471 and usually there's no number but this morning at 0830 I received a call from from these muppets.

Had call from 01793484900 today at 08:30am too.
Same as everyone else, calling back gives automated message "other person has hung up"

Got a call again today asking about ISO9001.
They were calling on behalf of IMSM Ltd http://www.imsm.com/ Tel 01793 421208.

It's still happening - Come on, get them disconnected! It's annoying and creepy. I get it on my mobile, and it is disconcerting to say the least

I received a call from these people this morning asking for me by name and I said that I could be and asked who she was calling from she said IMS then hung up.
I AM a registered disabled person that has registered with TPS (Telephone Preference Service).
As a registered disabled person I DO NOT appreciate telephone calls to my home from such a rude company. therefore unless the company cease phoning me, then I will have no hesitation in reporting them to the Government dept. for Descrimination Against Disabled People Act

Thanks to Roger above, I telephoned the company and it seems that they purchased the telephone numbers from a another company by the name of Business Serve, which I have heard of before and have an enormous reputation for the supply of home numbers and selling onto businesses as business numbers for the sake of sales.
Business Serve, according to a number of other websites are a company that stretch the law for their own gain.

Have had numerous calls from these idiots - all silent - bloody idiots.
Displays number every time but not able to call it back
Get your provider to bar the number or most mobiles have that function
on them

They just keep calling....

Contacted Business Serve and their reply was very interesting, as the representative clearly stated that they ARE allowed sell telephone numbers on as business numbers as no law has yet has been made to prevent them from this practice.
They also quite clearly stated that there are many ways to avoid the law and every company pushes the law to the boundaries and if they so wished, they can operate from abroad, which will exempt them from any law.

Got a missed call from them again today.
So I called IMSM 01793 421208 and asked them if they could remove my number and the person there said they would get it removed from the database.

I (based in Germany) received a call from this number today and it just rang twice.. I wanted to call back but it said "the callee hung up". weird.

For the past few months, my company has been getting calls from this number asking for our MD by name. When I say he is not in, the telephone goes dead.

When they ask if I am him, I say "can I help?" and conversation starts.

When asked if the company has ISO 9001, and I answer Yes, the phone goes dead

When I answer NO, they start trying to arrange a meeting so they can 'drop off some details'

Next time they ring I may have to 'arrange' a meeting just to waste their time

Started Monday morning 08:42 we get call from 01793484900 and the line goes dead when we answer. Ring it back and it's busy!!

looking through the above i'll try and contact IMSM - but don't hold out much hope. maybe doing as above arranging a visit and wasting their time may stop them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
