Got a call, i answered, hard voices and then they hung up.   i rang the number back but it is unobtainable.  Is it a scam of some sort

Got call today.  Got office hubbub background noise until someone spoke.   Asking to speak to who ever deals with company ISO.  When I questioned them why, the line went dead.

thanks for the info they have been ringing my office repeatedly spoke to lady on the co details you gave and she said will spw the manager of the telesales and get them to stop ringing and hanging up.

This person called but hung up as soon as I answered. When I called back they hung up!

I got a missed call from them on my mobile.  I advertise a small local business in Edinburgh and I pretty much know that, if the area code is from anywhere else outside my region, it's a pointless sales call.  Actually, I advertise two businesses and they often call both my 'phones within minutes.  Then I've got the joy of saying, "I thought I just told you to p*** off on the other line!"

Yep this seems to be IMSM who appear to be selling ISO accreditation to businesses. For those who are not familiar, ISO is a 'business standard' i.e you can have your business assessed to see how well it scores for 'quality management.' If you can achieve the 'standard' it makes it a lot easier to win business for your company, especially public sector contracts. Looking at the reports here though, IMSM appear to have terrible sales and customer service quality management themselves so I wouldn't be paying them for advice on how to maintain better quality management. I will point this out to them next time they call (if it's not another silent call that is.)
p.s. I think IMSM is also the name and acronym for an american business consultancy organisation based in California. I have no idea if the two are connected.

Be careful folks. These guys are trying to sell you an ISO 9001 quality management system. Whilst the Standard itself is internationally recognised, by government the certification in this instance probably isn't.  The only certification worth anything at all in the UK is one that is certified by a UKAS accredited body. They tried to sell one to my company but put the phone down when they realised that we actually deliver ISO 9001:2008 to clients and also arrange certification of the system via the  appropriate UKAS accredited bodies. Have a look on www.UKAS.com, on the left hand side click on to "accredited bodies" then click on to QMS (that's what ISO 9001 is) and see if they are listed as a UKAS accredited body. I think you will find they are not.
Bottom line is, their certification, so called, would be worthless if you were lookng to gain serious business by having it. Those who understand these things would not consider the certification as credible........those who don't....wouldn't be looking for you to have an ISO 9001 anyway!

Got a call asking to speak to someone in quality control when told everyone was in meeting they hung up.

we keep getting calls from this number - and as a single person business it is taking up a lot of time and interupting my day constantly - why can't they be disconnected or fined - we have nothing to protect us from these idiots - i see you contacted them Pete - any luck?

This number has been calling me all week,just happened to find this so at least i know now not to answer.

i have been recievinbg a call from this no every day for 4 weeks now, i dont answer it, do you know who it is

I have received a call from this number almost every day in the last two weeks. Same as others... I answer and the line goes dead. It's so frustrating.

After some more research, I see that it is a marketing company in Swindon. Call them on Tel 01793 421208 and ask them to remove your number from the list - I did and they apologised for the inconvenience. Good Luck!
