Had several calls from them and have been able to identify who and where they are and how to log a complaint with them to stop these nuisance calls.  Homserve, Cable Drive, Walsall telephone 08007834997 and when you get through they will take your details and complaint and they promise that the calls will stop in ten days.  Good luck!

Easier still - just report them to Ofcom for their illegal activities. I did and they soon stopped making a nuisance of themselves.

This number has been calling repeatedly over at least the last month.  I have caller ID showing the number and an answering machine on line. Odd that they are so desparate to speak to me but can't leave a message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plod u idiot. ID theft. Coppers, always looking for complicated option. If it was illegal then surely the amazing plod above would have done something.
They doing nothing wrong. If any of you have any brains in your head you will do what many people have already said to do. Make a complaint to them. Dont just ignore calls cos it will carry on.

    I'm convinced it's a huge scam.

They repeatedly make illegal unsolicited phone calls to the general public asking for information like name and address etc.

Suggest that you DO NOT give them ANY information as this is how most cases of IDENTITY THEFT are instigated.

    * * * * * * * PLEASE BE WARNED * * * * * * *

plod u really are dense. I also work for insirance. It is not illegal fist and foremost. As i sadi if it was i am sure u and the amazing boys in blue would have taken leagl action. U see how that works, funny isnt it. Second, the reason details are asked for is due to it being insurance and the company holding bank details they need to ensure that you are the person they think they are calling before being able to do anything. Tell me this, when u speak to your car insurance, your bank or your home insurance, do u start p***ing and moaning when they ask for your details like that. Here is an idea. Have a look at Homeserve website and see what they are about. Then u may realise that u are, as i said, quite dense and pompous thinking u know it all again

    Hey anon, you stupid [***].

You're also saying in the previous post that they also want BANK DETAILS ! ! !

    * * * * * * * BEWARE - IT'S DEFINITELY A IDENTITY THEFT SCAM * * * * * * *

Go to this website and find out how Barclaycard got done for making illegal calls to the general public:-

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10626 ... -customers.html

If the words in the article are too difficult for you, then please look them up in a dictionary.

You obviously didn't pass your spelling exam at school and most probably work for Homeserve as an "Agent".

No i dont work for homeserve, i work for direct line ironically as a complaints hadler so i know what i am talking about if u want this to stop. And i am terribly sorry for my dyslexia. If i could have chosen something else then i would.
As isadi, is your car insrance, home insurance, credit card compan scaming you everytime they ask you to confirm those details. Check the website and learn about what u are talking about first. Iam guessing u may be a copper as u go by the name plod. Therefore in my experience u probably think that u know more and are better thn everybody else. Just explain to everybdy why this is a scam And then explain why other insurance companies that ask for those details are not a scam. There u see it does not make much sense. Then agin, coppers dont usually.

    anon,

You really don't understand do you ?

In plain English for you then .....

As can be seen from the previous 14 pages of complaints regarding Homeserve, they are making UNSOLICITED and SILENT telephone calls to members of the general public, who are not customers of theirs.

Despite those people being registered with TPS and despite those people requesting that Homeserve stop making the calls, they still continue to do so.

Homeserve claim to be a "professional" company, yet they operate against the TPS guidelines, the FSA rules and the OFCOM law.

That in my book, is very sharp practice and is MOST DEFINITELY ILLEGAL (as Barclaycard recently found out).

No, I am not a member our our gallant Police Force but I do know considerably more than you about Telemarketing Rules and Regulations.

    Now go away - pillock.

It certainly seems like plod knows the law after all :)

I think you ought to shut up now anon - it's plainly obvious that you're talking out of your backside.

Plod you [***], angie m shut up unless you have some decent info to add rather than talking out of YOUR [***]. Read the previous posts if you are going to preach them and also learn a bit about what you are talking about. Lets start with TPS. Stop using that as a f****ng safety blanket. If you had read he previous posts there are many people who say the TPS is useless and now, copied from a previous post is the reason why you think it may be useless:

Scenario 1: If you are TPS registered AND not a customer of Homeserve, then Homeserve will not contact you as TPS suppressions are applied prior to conducting any acquisition of new customers.

Scenario 2: You are an existing HOMESERVE customer, TPS registered AND NOT opted out from Homeserve directly. Unless you have specifically OPTED OUT of tele-marketing you will/can be contacted LEGALLY by Homeserve.

TPS does NOT apply to EXISTING customers (as long as you have not opted out by contacting Homeserve directly) as it is accepted you hold an existing relationship with the supplier and therefore may wish to know of future products).

Scenario 3: You are existing HOMESERVE customer AND Opted Out directly from Homeserve contact: Regardless of your TPS status you will not be dialled by Homeserve as you have notified us directly of your wish NOT to be contacted.

Scenario 4: You are NOT an existing HOMESERVE customer and TPS registered (and or opted out from Homeserve directly).  You will not be contacted.

Thatshould clear up the TPS issue. And before you start saying you are not a customer, again, look at previous posts and the homeserve website and find out the large number of companies that homeserve administer insurance for. This all comes down to reading the small print on any warranty or extended guarantee you may have for ANYTHING not just plumbing insurance. The vast mahority of these are administered by homeserve. Furniture, electrical appliances, cameras and also the fact that homeserve work with a large quantitiy of the water boards and utility companies. Therefore you may have an affilation with them and be unaware.

Therefore, as you can see from all that info, they are not breaking the law and it is up to YOU to make a complaint to get thisto stop. It is pointless moaning about it now when you failled to tick that little box on any form you filled in that says you dont want to have your details passed on.

As i said i work for insurance so i know how we get a lot of the details of members of the public to send out mailings. The very large company called experian. The same ones who will also give you that daft online credit check. I would suggest that you also find out whether these are acting within the guidelines of Data Protection or not

    anon's quote from previous post:-

"Scenario 1: If you are TPS registered AND not a customer of Homeserve, then Homeserve will not contact you as TPS suppressions are applied prior to conducting any acquisition of new customers."

    THAT'S A LIE FOR A START !

    Another one of anon's quotes:-

"Scenario 4: You are NOT an existing HOMESERVE customer and TPS registered (and or opted out from Homeserve directly).  You will not be contacted."

    THAT'S ANOTHER LIE !

Also, the definition of a "customer" .....

A person who buys goods or services from a specific shop or business.

    ---

NOT someone who forgets to tick a box a piece of paper !

Now go away anon - you thick pillock.

And by the way, they were not my quotes. Shows how you have failled as i even said that if you had read any of this you [***] airhead then you would have noticed how i said i have taken them from a previous quote.

    Well I never anon !

I was also in the Army and served my Queen and Country - I made it as far as Lieutenant-Colonel, but then had to be invalided out. You obviously didn't do quite so well, as I see your role in civvi street is that of a lowly "complaints handler" for Direct Line - hahaha

Now for the last time of asking - GO AWAY SOLDIER.
