- AmyI have been receiving these calls for a few months now, in fact it was thanks to these calls that I found this site (so not all bad I suppose!).
Anyway I refuse to answer marketing calls but they are beginning to annoy me with their persistence. I work shifts and object to being woken up in the middle of the morning if I am sleeping off nights. As John suggested (30 Mar 2010) I have e-mailed the Customer Relations Director so hopefully that will be an end to it, fingers crossed. It worked for a similar problem I was having with CCA/BT when I sent an e-mail so I have high hopes for this one too!- Caller: Homeserve

- DaveHad this number call 3 times today as I refuse to answer it. They're actually calling my business number which I inherited from the person they are trying to contact, and get really worried when they discover it's a business number (yet still haven't taken it off their system). Decided to also follow John's advice (30 Mar 2010) and have e-mailed the Senior Customer Relations Executive asking whether he would like him company to start phoning them all day long! Maybe if we all e-mail him they'll stop making the calls!

- JANETWe came back off a 2 week holiday and there were 33 calls on the answering machine many of them from the above number (our phone stores the last 25 numbers) no message was left but if we get similar calls we usually say Mr (or Mrs) ******** is out of the country until e.g. 23rd May! But it doesnt stop them calling! The other thing I usually say is I will get them and just leave the phone on the side!
Idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - JackieTwice today, fortunately I was out but would have ignored it as number shows.
Once last week.
My number is ex directory but they still get it and don't respect it.- Caller: Homeserve

- Bob CI have plumbing and drainage insurance with Homeserve but they keep hassling me to buy more insurance. I get junk mail and numerous phone calls and I keep telling them I'm not interested but they are relentless. This kind of harrssment should be illeagal, its bad enough with all the calls from Mumbai and the Cruise Ship agencies. My favourite trick is to leave them hanging on for as long as I can be bothered.

- Ron BakerThis number calls daily and no one speaks or leaves a message.
- RachSO glad to know I'm not the only one being hassled by this number (not that I wish it on anyone else), but furious because I'm ex-directory and on TPS.. Good to be able to put a name to these muppets though.
I'll be ready for them next time... *winks* - Mr McNallyI am getting regular calls from Home serve which is making my life a misery, how can I stop this I'm at my whits end and suffer from depression, please help me.

- former homeserve employee| 2 repliesI worked at Homeserve for 2 years and they are an honest company but very demanding on there sales agents due to the growth of the company. Its not the agents fault we dont call your number its automated on a dialer. If you just hang up up you will get called back fact! if you speak to the agent and i know there may be a delay in the agent speaking and just explain you dont want no more more calls they will take you of the dialer and the calls will stop. I appreciate that you can get annoyed with these calls but writing offensive comments on a forum about people who get out of bed in a morning and earn a good wage is not on.
- DaveFurther to my post on 6th April, mailing the Senior Customer Relations Executive did prompt a response, and I eventually received a letter confirming I had been removed from the auto dialler. All sounded great, until the calls started again. Have been in touch again and they said they would look into it, so fingers crossed this will actually work! FYI you can contact the customer relations team on 0800 408 5070.

- pigpenthis lot have been pestering me for months now but as I have caller ID I don't answer. However, today, whilst off sick, they have called a total of 9 times in 5 hours. I gave in an answered. Didn't give them time to tell speak, just said, 'I don't know or care who you are, just stop pestering me!' Guess what, they phoned back within 20 mins. This time I let the bloke speak then repeated that what I'd said before and that they were to take my name off their list. As he started to apologise, I hung up. Time will tell. I wouldn't mind so much, but, although I can see the gas terminal at Bacton in Norfolk (it's where they pump it inland from the North Sea) we do not have any gas where I live - nor are we likely to. Bl**dy cheek of them!

HomeServe are a legit company, and have sales teams all around the country, because they make money from it! People obviously buy things from HomeServe, as the company is still going!
Two things i'd like to say, I completely share peoples frustration, sales calls at inappropriate times can be annoying! however, please be aware of the following:
HomeServe are FSA regulated, meaning that they can't ignore any lists that people are placed on. HomeServe work with over 100 different companies (including Waterboards) across the UK, and can only phone you if you have ticked the box with your water company, saying that you can be contacted for market research and sales purposes by their partners too. Contact your water company!
2nd of all, being rude, or ignoring them will not help! Shouting abuse down the phone, does not stop the phonecalls! If you keep being phoned when you work nights, or have irregular sleeping patterns, tell the agent on the phone that you can only be contacted at a particular time, and you will be! If you don't want to be contacted by HomeServe anymore, than politely tell the person on the phone, as they have to remove you from the database! If you shout abuse, they are allowed to end the call, resulting in a callback at somepoint as the system is automated! - DaveWe get calls from 01922420057 about three times a day and as soon as we pick up the line goes dead. Who is it?
- PJReceived a call from this number today. This is the latest in a long list of numbers of this type. We are ex directory and have registered for TPS. Am so sick and tired of receiving unsolicited phone calls, not just once but repeatedly day, evening and weekend. We always opt out and never give out our landline phone number even for goods and services that we request. Firms soliciting for business should do so by post or e mail so we don't get repeatedly disturbed by these really annoying repetitive callers. Thank goodness for caller display but the calls are still intrusive.
- Homeserve Employee replies to Anon agancy| 4 repliesTo Whom it may concern, i am currently an employee of Homeserves and to be honest im proud to be! I am gap year student, and i assure you entirely civilized, trying to make an honest living in a recession,( as are most of the employees) and if you think that i haven't looked for other jobs 'Anon agency' then you are not only misguided but completely unsympathetic to people in my position. There are no other jobs for people my age, 20 believe me i've looked!
I have two options as you see it, to perform the 'cruel and nasty' job of calling you and offering you an insurance policy ( thats right its JUST insurance) which as you may or may not know you CAN refuse! Or i can claim 140 pounds of your tax paying money and bum around for a year on the dole! We work really hard, and i happen to be very good at my job and people DO buy it from me! However if you do decide that its not for you, ask me not to call again and i will quite happily take you off our calling database. This i predict would take you all of about 25 seconds out of im sure a very important and busy day.
But would amuse that you would much rather waste your time researching how we got your number, and who gave it to us because i fear you don't have anything better to do. I assume you already have a university education and are doing rather well for yourself so i beg you have some sympathy for people who are still saving money, doing jobs that they hate, for an education they could not afford if they didn't have this job.
P.s we are still human and this kind of backlash is unnecessary hurtfull
