Had 5 calls yesterday, 5 more today.

Reported them to the TPC who are following it up as I was previously registered with them.

Set their number up on my phone and set the name to IgnoreHS, so I know never to answer :-)

Handy tip for those with Caller ID :-)

Homeserve AGAIN!  i have told them so many times that i am not interested and they still call us.  they send a letter inviting you to use one of their services and then they bombard you with calls day and night.

perhaps what the users of this number are doing is not illegal, however I would dispute the ethics of this kind of calling. It would be right if they did not persist ad nausiem and at all times of day, waking your child from its naps, getting you to answer the phone and then not saying anything and so on... as it is, it is in my view, a real hassle and I feel it is "wrong" and certainly wrong headed. I would like to be able to can the calls with the least amount of effort on my part. After all its a bit like someone walking into your home uninvited, not just once but six times a day.... there ARE laws about that ... trespass... and that is no longer just a civil tort!

This company may be all the things you say it is. But how dare you people tell the people working for them to get a real job. I hope that one day people who can say this "isnt a real job" have the misfortune of not having a job and have to take a job doing something they didnt always see as being their life long career. People working for these companys have an automated dialer where a call just comes through. If you say not to call anymore, that is the button we press, as far as us people that are actually on the end of the phone are concerned you shouldnt be called anymore. If you are then called again that is due to the company ignoring what the agent says. As much as you dont want to keep recieving the same call. We as teleagents dont want to keep calling the same person to be told the same thing. So just bare that in mind when you are saying that we are not intelligent people. I work in a call centre with graduates, people in university and the managers have lived and seen it all. You may recieve 3 calls that may last a few seconds. Us people that do the actual job take over a thousand calls a day. For minimum wage. But it is a job none the less. We are sorry you recieve calls you dont want but we are doing as you are asking (as long as your not completly arrogant about it) and the rest is down to the system. So by all means blame the technology, blame the big wigs, But us people on the other end of the phone are at the bottom of the food chain just trying to earn a living, So dont claim we are idiots, because we are not. Manners dont cost anything, I thought all parents taught that.

This has obviously been going on for years going by the dates on some of the comments, and the law hasn't kicked in yet.  Why do I have to go to a lot of hassle (writing letters, calling ofcom etc), just to stop being harassed.  It's not fair!

This is where you are all going wrong. If you dont let agents end the call then we have to select that you hung up, which i would imagine is the reason you continue to get calls. "I WANT TO BE SURPRESSED FOR FURTHER TELEMARKETING" in a polite fashion is a much more procuctive method!
