We are also inundated with calls from these idiots - we transfer calls at night to our service and tech guys and they repeatedly get called late night, middle of night and early morning. As these calls are unsolicited surely legislation should be introduced to prevent this. I know some other companies place a number on their fax to allow you to fax back and remove yourself from their list but many of these are premium numbers.

We also get calls from this number.It's a fax trying to transmit for sure.

Has anyone actually managed to recive the fax to identify the company?

I am getting these calls too! so annoying generally every 2 -3 day and I thought that was bad - but looks as though it could get worse! I am only recieving them on my business line.

Same thing is happening here in Lancashire, I wouldn't mind but we dont have a fax machine!!!!
Very very annoying since it holds the line up for a good few minutes by beeping at you down the phone!!!

I wrota a comment on this page on 3rd Jan and have since found who is calling...

It is a company called Freestart plc and they are something to do with websites and searchenging ranking.  They send you a fax on how to get your ebsite to the top of Google. Anyway, to remove them they ask you to fax back on an 0870 number. I went to saynoto0870.com and found the local number for their support team - 01942 406 129. Call them say that your not a customer but keep getting faxes and don't have a fax machine and tell them your phone number and they will remove you from their list.

I live in the USA and I have a virtual UK number so friends and family can call me free of charge and we get calls from the nuisance number at early hours of the morning and all day. If anyone knows of a way to stop this I would be grateful

i got this call everyday,very [***] off this number!

I have had a persistent problem with this number faxing me during the night and day (usually 3-4am on a monday - nice). I have followed the advice of Victoria above (thank you), and although I don't know how much the call cost me, I have been politely assured my number will be removed, and apologised to.

My greatest gripe is with BT - I telephoned them thinking as we took on the number only a month ago and it came with this fault from its previous use, they would simply block the number. Apparently not - my options were to have my number changed at my own inconvenience, or worse spend £10.50 a month (+VAT no doubt) to block up to 10 nuicance callers. They also wouldn't tell me the company name to protect them. Another case of the victim pays in more ways than one!

Well thanks to this site and google to find it, I have sorted it out myself (I hope). Satisfying, but I fear it shouldn't be the case.

We have also been getting calls from this number at all times of the night and day. They started not long after we got a new BT number and at a time when we were awaiting hospital results to come via telephone so we really could have done without them. Is disgusting that companies can target individuals like this and get away with it. Have also contacted them - e-mailed via their website and gave them a piece of my mind. Hope the calls now stop but am tempted to post some hefty packages to their Freepost address to see how they like it!!!

The equipment that dials numbers and transmits faxes is configured to ONLY operate during pre defined hours. Our tests have shown that they are operating correctly, hence why we are investigating this fully.

To help with this investigation, should you receive an unwanted call from us, please let us know by calling 0870 803 4679 (National Rate Number) or 01942 406129 (Mon-Fri 9:30-17:00) and we will remove your number from our databases. (Please be advised that all calls we receive are recorded).

We will ask you for the following information:
The phone number receiving the call.
Date and Time of call.
How you identified us as the sender (1471, fax header etc).

Many thanks for you help and co-operation, we can assure you that all that can be done to resolve any unwanted calls is being done.

Just had my first call from this number..... hope thast not the start of lots of nuisance calls

I've been called by this number, just beeping. I don't just get this number though, loads of different ones call at all times of the day. It is interesting that someone suggested their line may have been a fax number in the past, I thought this could be the case with my new line. I am ex directory, TPS etc,so shouldn't be getting these. BT actually had the nerve to charge me £125 to install this "new" line, they gave me a second hand nightmare line-plus their engineer took the plaster off my wall for no reason!!
