Report a phone call from 01942233134 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Kevin Reidcalls from 01942 233134 - an outgoing Fax machine keeps calling my voice line - who is it and how can they be stopped.
Thanks- Caller: don't know can't call them back
- HannahI just searched for this number online and found this topic. Thanks to those who posted the number to contact to be removed from the calling list :) Hopefully the annoying calls will stop now!!
The guy I spoke to, Paul, was very nice and helpful and apologised. I really don't think they are meaning to annoy people day and night and sounds like they are trying to fix the issue. - RI left a message on this thread on 14th March. It may help everyone to know that (although I am registered with the telephone preference service) I registered my landline number with the fax preference service and the calls have stopped!
Google it and put your number in (even though it's not a fax) and you should stop getting these calls - they're obviously incorrectly identifying our landline numbers as fax lines. - RustyrooballsBeen getting them for ages - found this thread - called them on the number given and asked them to remove me from their database. They apologized and said it would be 5-7 days before the number filtered through the system - -after that I should receive no more of their silly little nuisance calls. I'll let you know if it doesn't work!
- sarahi'm bloddy fed up with these stupid people. The number has been calling me for around 2 months any time of the day or night and wakes my little baby up. No one wants to help, i'm at the end of my teather.
- FitzgeraldThe above number keeps calling, normally at 19.30 hours. Like a modem or fax. I have or am supposed not to get nuisance calls (call protect service) and yet this always is allowed to happen. Even if I put the phone down and then try to use the phone it is still going on and I have to pull out the cable to stop it. It is really annoying and should not be allowed to harass residential numbers.
Is there nothing that can be done about it? - LeanneJust got a call from this number also, thanks to this page and those who found the company details I'm off the "list" though the guy on the phone said I should expect calls for the next 5-7 days while I'm "filtered out of the system". What's that about? Why can't I just be removed immediately? I asked how he had my number and he said their would have been a busines fax at this property at some point but it's a terrace house in the middle of a town that has always been used as a student rental property for as long as the landlord knows! The guy then said that he didn't know how they had it then, like I believe that!
Sadly I too get a lot of calls from fax numbers, mainly because a company listed my house number as their fax number on their website. If anyone gets a lot of faxes calling house numbers I suggest they google their number and see if it's listed by a company anywhere, then ring that compnay.
I'm just glad I wasn't called at a ridiulous hour though it's a bit annoying when you're waiting for job offers!- Caller: Freestart
- ShaunWe have been getting usance calls of ths number for over year and getting really fed up with it! i am so close to taking my lanline off and just sticking to mobile!
- hikari warriorI subscribe to TPS - going to report it
- anonTPS is different to FPS, I recommend you subscribe to both
- Peter JamesThese fax calls still keep coming in from a company called Freestart here in UK. I do not have a fax machine but even after asking them to stop they still keep calling. Have reported them to Fax Preference Service on 30th April 08 and asked to be listed as "NO FAXES" but Freestart still continue to send. I note from their website http://www.freestart.plc.uk/contact.php that they have a freepost address and a freephone number I found on www.saynoto0870.com that works for free 0800 0340011 so will make use of them.

- lineyI have just moved and got a new phone number and I have already had several calls from this number with the beep at the other end - with surely this many people complaining about it it must be some sort of scam - I am ex-directory and registered with TPS, FPS etc and still these annoying calls - who the hell are these people ???????
- G. StocksContinually getting fax calls to our home number (not fax). On TPS but doesn't seem to stop the calls.
- Caller: unknown
- Markkeep getting beeping noises presume its a fax from this number despite being registered with TPS, does anyone know a way of finding out who this number is registered to? 01942 is a Wigan code.
- Disgusted of Tunbridge WellsHave been called by this number repeatedly for the last two years and could not find out how to stop it :-( Fortunately Google now found this forum and thanks to the previous comments I called Freestart and spoke to Paul who took my number and promised to remove it from their dialling list.
I made the following suggestions to Paul (which he was unwilling to accept but I insisted he passed them to his management and asked that they call me back):
1) Stop dialling numbers once they have failed a few times.
2) Route incoming calls to 01942233134 through to an operator so people can contact them.
3) Visit this forum and post an apology.

If anyone can post phone numbers for the directors then we could even call them (at appropriate times of the day) to voice our annoyance.- Caller: Freestart Plc
- Disgusted of Tunbridge WellsTo their credit Freestart did call me back and discussed my suggestions. They will consider routing calls to 01942233134 to an operator to allow people to contact them.
Also their fax system *SHOULD* stop calling after a number of failed attempts. In my experience (and the response here) this is obviously not working. In my case the call would always have been answered, either by a person or an answer machine, so I don't know if they consider that a successfully call. In my view they should stop sending calls to any number that does not successfully accept a fax after 3 attempts and require human intervention (i.e a human calls and confirms) before restarting calls.- Caller: Freestart Plc
- Freestart PLCIf you are receiving calls or attempted communication from ourselves it is because your telephone number is registered within our database as a current or previous fax line. (Please note that numbers are recycled, if you have recently received a new telephone number it is possible it was previously operating as a fax line.)
Our equipment that dials numbers and transmits faxes is configured to ONLY operate during pre defined hours. Our tests have shown that they are operating correctly and no communication is sent at unsolicited hours such as 3am.
Should you receive an unwanted call from us, please let us know by calling 0870 803 4679 (National Rate Number) or 01942 406129 (Mon-Fri 9:30-17:00) and we will remove your number from our databases. (Please be advised that all calls we receive are recorded).
We may ask you for the following information:
The phone number receiving the call.
Date and Time of call.
How you identified us as the sender (1471, fax header etc).
Upon communicating with us we will be happy to remove your telephone numbers from our databases however due to the cyclic nature of our equipment this may take up to 24 hours to be evident.
Many thanks for you help and co-operation, we can assure you that all that can be done to resolve any unwanted calls is being done.

- LeahWe are in Notts and we get these calls at all hours too!....it also holds the line up for a good while after!...I tried to call the number back but at certains times it says Freestart plc's opening hours and during them hours you can never get in touch!....The funny thing is that the hours they say they are open I have had calls out of these times!!!!!!!!! we have never had a fax machine either..Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!....My partner and myself works shifts and we have just had a new born baby this is very very frustrating!
- LeahJust an update, Ive phoned the number above 01942406129 spoke to a chap called Paul and he said he would remove my number from the "list" we may get a call in the next 24 hours as thats how long it takes to come off the "list"...apparently they are given a big list of numbers that have been recycled (we have had the number for over a year now and never had a fax machine)that have previously had a fax machine and thats why you get the fax noise at the other end...BT have a lot to answer for!
