BT said they would ring the caller and ask them to remove my number from their list. Company turned out to be Freestart PLC. I havent called them directly yet - will wait to see if BT can stop calls from them...

I've had this number call several times .the last call happened while I was taking a bath  I had intended to ignore the call thinking I'll ring back the caller once finished well my phone rang for over 10 min got to the phone thinking maybe it was bad news of some kind otherwise why would the caller be so persistent to hear nothing but a beeping sound its not a fax noise  ,as usual with these calls I put the phone down tried to make a call about 10 min's later to my phone company without success the line wasn't clear and I did not get a clear line no Dialling tone .for two days I could not dial out when friends tried to call me they were told my phone was temporary out of order ,after speaking to a friend about it they suggested it could be A...someone hijacking the phone line to make calls or texts on a premium rate apparently this happens a lot in the states  ,or B....a company who checks for live lines for other company's I.e if you have given your number on line for say a brochure .I find that quite disturbing but surely could this be the reason my phone was out of commission and what if I had needed to make an emergency call during that time when I put this to my phone company not bt ,I was told by a very pleasant young man this could be possible though not probable,my response was if its possible than it most certainly can be probable his best advice was go x directory which I already am duh!get caller id which I have  And don't give my number out to just anyone be in person or on line  which again I don't do, the engineers came out checked my line and phone itself and there was nothing wrong with either when I spoke to them about it and my friends theory  on the subject there repose was theres enough technology out there

I keep getting diverted calls from this number and im not amused. They are trying to send a bloody fax but comes up on my phone as diverted.

Just managed to catch this number, I had to answer the phone and write the number on my caller ID screen down while I was still connected as 1471 and the caller ID store in my phone would not keep and display the number when requested. I rang the customer support number given a few posts earlier and got through to a guy called Paul, I asked to have my number removed which he has assured me he has done. When I asked where they got my number from they said that apparently they cannot give that info out over the phone and that I should write to them and ask for the info and they would post back, I just asked for them to write to me and tell me rather than me having to waste time writing them first. Paul took my address and when I did my little trick of asking him to repeat the address so I can check they had it right he couldnt tell me, so Im guessing that they didnt plan to write to me! Anyway after giving my address again and him repeating it correctly I was assured I will recieve a letter telling me where they got my number from. Lets wait and see!!

Brand new BT line fitted in October 2007 with a brand new number or so I was told and have been harassed sometimes by upto 10 times a day, BT don't seem bothered, my number is also ex-directory. Just received another call tonight at 8.39pm which woke my kids up not happy hence why i've googled it. Hope fully with the information others have added here i'll be able to get shot of these stupid useless calls once and for all. Glad I don't work night shifts otherwise I would have lost my job through lack of sleep.

I have posted on this site before about another number that calls me with fax beeping.  This is the major number that pesters me with calls.
I registered with the fax preference people and that cut the amount of calls I had - amazing.  Hadn't had one since I registered with them until day by this number.  Thanks to this website I have rang them on their local number and asked to remove my number from tehir database which they supposedly willdo.  Telling the guy said this may not take effect for 24 hours so I may get more calls from them in the next day!  Lets hope this works.
In our case we were given the number in September 2007 and started getting calls almost immediately, before the number was even finalised by BT.

The bloke i spoke to was VERY up himself and rude. I started off with a polite request to remove us from the list, especially because we have TPS, and he said 'we fax and FPS is different to TPS' so i asked him again to remove us. He said there must have been a fax at this address before - not so as we have a new telephone number. I know the numbers get recycled but it must have been a dead number for ages.

Anyway, after asking 6 x for an apology, i finally got a very begrudging one, he said 'i was going to apologise for the inconvience at the end after explaining the process (and presumably giving me all their excuses)'. Don't believe it for  a second... ;)

this number calls me 3 or 4 times a week and has done for a while now, you never get to speak to anyone.

I had these jokers promise me that I'd been removed from their list.
That was about 6 weeks ago.
Fair enough the calls did stop.

Until today.  It rang for about 2 1/2 minutes.

Another email sent.

Called me today with a beeping sound and ties up my line - I have to pull the plug out of the wall to end the call.  This and another number is calling at all times of the day and night with the same beeping.  I'm going to register with the FPS and see if that helps.

Right ive had enough!!!! Ive tried ignoring the calls...but the 'phone just rings and rings and rings,at all times of the day and night..this has now been happening for a couple of months now,surely,having seen all these similar unfortunate people ,like myself,something SHOULD be done to stop companies like these harrassing the innocent public.Ive also tried to call the number back,but to no avail...nothing happens when i try...so my second step was to complain to BT who say their hands are tied and cannot give out the company's details...so why is it ok for them to find out my number etc...especially when me and probably rather quite alot of these other people are ex-directory...get your finger out your backside BT and take onboard the complaints you are receiving about this number,as obviously..on this web page we are probably only one of hundreds maybe thousands who are getting sick of this!!!!

This number rings me all the time,it rang me last wed at 11.00 and 11.15 at night. Whenever I get in from work my answer machine is just full of bleeps. Only had the number for a few months and it started pretty soon after I got it.I think that it must have been either bt or virgin that gave my number out because I didn't give my new num to anyone else for the first few weeks. They drive me mad.

i have been having these calls for months and months from same number, same beeps, thanks to whoevere posted details of company on page 2, i have just called thema dn they say the line is being taken out of service, or something like that. i may receive a call or two over the next couple weeks, after that no more. we will see...

i,m with virgin media i keep getting these calls. i had several last night with just a beep on the end of the line. i wish they would stop they dont care what time they ring! just a damn nuisance!
