- a concerned individual replies to Guy Hagandave only makes payments and the end of the month, when he gets commission from mainline, make sure you have sent you invoice and terms and conditions as this is the excuse they will give you, if its after 3 months there should be no reason why wont pay. used to work for them and left and now in the process oof setting up myself as fed up with him ripping people of, which i was not happy with, got his personal number as well as home address, he may not answer numbers he dont know
- HeresWhy replies to FYI| 1 replyIn response to "FYI" (page 7) here's several reasons why I got "pissed off" with Gecko:
You receive an unsolicited call from them offering to save you £'s. They receive copies of your previous bills so they know exactly what your usage is and advise you to switch from Vodaphone to Orange. Great (you think) these guys really know what they are doing.
Then you receive your first bill from Orange which is double what you were paying Vodaphone because they haven't given you enough data allowance. "How did that happen" you ask yourself when you know that they had all the information from the previous 3 bills and are the "experts" in analysing the market.
The only trouble is now you are locked into a 24 month contract with Orange paying extortionate rates and beyond the 7 day cold calling period so you cant get out of it.
You continue being billed by Orange and forget all about Gecko. (As far as you are concerned they facilitated a rotten deal and have long gone with their commission. All down to experience you say)
Then in month 22 of your 24 month contract and you get a call from Orange or one of their "business partners" advising you that you are due for an upgrade of your Orange account. They tell you that if you switch to XYZ tarrif you will save £'s.
Being a little more cautious this time you check it out on the web. It looks genuine and wanting to be rid of that expensive tariff Gecko signed you up to you bite their hand off.
10 days later you get an invoice from Gecko for £1k for early termination of their agreement despite the fact that your contract continued with Orange.
You complain to Orange who tell you that Gecko received their commission on the sale 22 months ago and have not been charged any early termination charges and so therefore have not incurred any business loss whatsoever. They are therefore seeking to make economic gain from the fact that they were too slow in ringing you to offer you the same deal.
So in answer to "FYI"... Please tell me why shouldnt I be pissed off with Gecko?
PS. To those of you caught in similar circumstances what Gecko are attempting to do is to get you to sign up to early termination penalty clauses in their T&C's.
Unfortunatly for them the English courts tend not to recognise penalty clauses and will only recognise genuine losses. So the penalty costs being claimed by Gecko will probably be unenforcable. I would contest them and make this lizard blink! - RudeSales replies to Unknown| 1 replySorry... but in my world unsolicited calls from people using an automatic dialler in the hope of scoring a hit for sales... and then being subjected to a sales pitch when you have already told the caller that you are not interested is in itself lazy and rude.
So why should I (who hasn't asked to be called) "ask nicely" to be taken off the automatic dialler? - Geko no more| 2 repliesJust stumbled across this on the internet:
http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/list_companies_winding.htm
It looks like Geko are in the process of being shut down by the courts. A winding up petition has been issued as they haven't been paying their debts to their creditors.
So it isn't just us, their customers, who they haven't been paying.
I was conned by this company and are still owed over £2000 by them, which it looks like i am never going to get now they are going out of business. It put a smile on my face to see that David Carter and his company are getting their come-uppance now though. - loo rolls replies to Geko no moreHi, Just wondering if there was any news about how this winding up petition went? I am sure that we would like to see someone apart from their customers get their come-uppance for once.
- Mick replies to HeresWhyI am in exact same situation. I am being threatened with court action if I do not pay 700 pounds. I never signed any terms and conditions though so I am hoping that this will not esculate further. I hope this company gets wound up.
- Mrs Respect replies to RudeSalesim sorry but people who work for the sales department are just doing their jobs, theres no need to be rude to them or abusive- all you have to do is tell them you are TPS registered and then they have to remove you. I understand people are p'd off but its not the telesales fault they are just hired by the MD, i know some1 that worked there just to get by and was spoke to like [***] by people day in day out- its just a job and just because they are calling you on behalf of a company does NOT mean you are better or more succesful then them. in fact my friend not long graduated from uni and is awaiting a graduate job.
- NA replies to concerned individual| 1 replyGeko direct never pay their customers even though they get paid by Orange. I had to wait near enough a WHOLE YEAR to get £200 back..... Thhis is the worst company i have ever dealt with.
- Kirst replies to andrew| 1 replyI used to work there a year ago, i personally know that customers struggle to get their money back, their accounts are not looked after. Then when you are due a upgrade you get call after call after call. They call the networks as the customer and try to get the pac codes. If this is not ddodgy then what is??
The miss sell to their customers, fortunatly i was not one of the sales people and only had to deal with the complaints from customers who were promised money back and never received any papyments.
I feel sorry for any customer who does not google this company as they will get stiched up one way or another.
No one has any responsability there, but when it comes to doing a deal again on month 21 they will offer and promise the world to you. If you are one of the poor customers that has not got your money back then i feel sorry that you ever went with them. I wish i could help you more but if you ever want any advise i will be happy to help if i can. - gem replies to KirstThey are not authorised to dedal with O2, VODAFONE AND T-MOBILE. they call up and say we are authorised dealers for the 4 major networks and Guess what... They arnt...... The sales people miss sell all the time god know why they are still trading............
- aa replies to Geko no moreI am sorry to say this is now all okay. It is very unfortunate to see all customers who put their trust in Geko sales people as they will only be mislead and at the end of their contract will be dis heartened in the mobile phone world. Stay clear
- pudderGEKO ARE THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF CON MERCHANTS AND LIARS I,VE EVER KNOWN, PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY PROMISE THE EARTH AND DELIVER NOTHING BUT HASSLE AND YOU HAVE TO RING EVERYTIME YOUR CASHBACK PAYMENT IS DUE AS ITS NEVER PAID, AND THE SERVICE FROM ORANGE IS NOT MUCH BETTER. I AM STILL OWED ABOUT £600 OUT OF £1100 AFTER NEARLY A YEAR AND MY ORANGE BILLS ARE AT LEAST £50 PER MONTH DEARER THAN THEY SHOULD BE.

- the real 'kirst'| 2 repliesjust to clarify,i did not write the above post-true i worked for geko and left 3months ago but one,i would never write on a forum like this, secondly, the spelling is terrible and anyone who knows me should know that i would not be stupid enough to leave my name!! Reason i have written on this is due to the fact that i will not be told that im writing crap about a company i used to work for,why would i want 2 ??!! So,record set straight,it was not me. No further comment!
- helpfull advice replies to Graham, PD Transportmy advice on this would be to visit them in there head office! You need to make a copy of the quote geko sent you and forward this on to orange business customer care directly advising them that you werent meant to be on 1 venture plan and have some how ended up on three plans this will prove that it was a vendor mistake and hopefully get you put on the correct plan therefore giving you the free calls between users and reducing costs further. Unforuntatley you will have to pay the buyout balance yourself and VISIT geko to get the refund as it can take forever with there fiance department. As for Orange cutting you off this is down to the network explain the mess show them the copy of the original quote and explain what your receiving is not what you agreed this will get the plan put right but you will have to pay the network to get your phones re connected orange will reinburse you if they see that a mistake that was not your fault was made
- Explain replies to the real 'kirst'| 1 replyWere you the only person who ever worked at Geko who may have been known as Kirst?
Why did you come on here to deny you were "Kirst" when it could simply have been someone else called Kirst who wrote the original comment? - in reponse - the real kirst replies to ExplainReason i replied is due to the fact that people presumed it was me... like i said no further comment.
- Don't deal with themI changed two phone with Geko last August. Promised reimbersment on my old contract if i sent in all of the paper work requested (done). Still waiting for payment 7 months later. Every time you phone and ask for the money, you get told it's on the next cheque run. They just LIE.
- Caller: GEKO
- peter jones replies to NAsame here, they owe me a lot of money, cant wait for contract to end.
- mel matthews| 2 repliesthieves, liars and cheets that GEKO Direct17-Mar-2011
I was contacted by Geko, saying they would match the amount i was paying T mobile if i took out contracts for the 3 phones with orange, of course this did not happen, they then said they would pay orange per month the difference between the contract payment, but i had to send them an invoice so they could claim the VAT back for the contract they paid aprox 6 months payments at half the amount they promised,.....i presumed they carried out a VAT fraud by claiming the VAT back,
i complained and complained but nothing changed apart from promises, orange said they would aproach GEKO and reported back that geko will sort it out, and it was just admin problems..... enventually orange said its not there concern just give us the money or we will cut you off ., Geko then contacted me to say if i signed up for another contract they would pay the outstanding amount, and they only pay for the first year not the whole contract unless i agree to extend the contract.....what liars they are.....and i have got to say Orange were little better than there partner GEKO in the sorry business, still i have only 3 months to go on the two year contract and then they both can go to hell and can report them to the trading standards authority

ILOVEGEKO who posts on here is obviously Lacey Webb, a failed sales agent who now somehow is Customer Services Director, much to the annoyance of Vince the Finance Director and Tim the (pretend) Sales Director. Lacey didn't get to the top by ability I assure you.
