[Carphone warehouse scams] - About 25,700 results (0.29 seconds)
[Dialaphone scams] - About 69,700 results (0.29 seconds)
At least 75% of the results are entire websites filled with complaints and people moaning about being ripped off. However something interesting happens when you Google Geko scams, admittedly you find 3000 something results but start reading the results. After this site and Bizwiki you cease to see any more complaints and the results turn into employment offers, satnav and lizards?
For one of the largest b2b mobile dealers in the UK they certainly have kept a clean sheet on the web, or could it be that the evil Mr Carter is controlling the internet from his lair at Carter Towers?
Do you honestly believe that Orange would endorse specialist dealer status to a company that doesnt operate to the highest standards????
http://www1.orange.co.uk/business/small/dealers/index.php?region=south-west - Akin SIt looks like GEKO DIRECT are running a SCAM with some of their salesmen at the forefront.
They tried to sell me a phone that does not work and said if I did not like it to send it back within 7 days. I was given an address to send it to as it was on the ORANGE tarriff, it came with an ORANGE letterheaded paper.
My asistant sent it to the Orange address and after 5 days, they sent it back to us saying it should go to GEKO.
All through the period however, we informed the Geko salesman that we would not be taking the contract and that the phone had issues- It just about connected to the orange network in my house!!
The Geko salesman said that was no issue and we should send the phone to him and that he would give me another phone which I did not want and was a poor alternative for the iphone which I was more interested in at the time.
He said, he would lose fifty pounds if I returned the phone aand I even offered to meet him halfway and declined the contract. The salesman got hostile and the next thing I knew I started recieving funny letters from Geko and also letters from ORANGE saying I now have a contract. I also wrote/called Orange who said they could not cancel the contract as it was initiated by a re-seller. I also called GEKO who were very unhelpful and said I had to pay for the phone and a year's contract!!
This was over 18 months ago. I have since sent proof of returning the phone etc to at least 2 Debt collection agencies and refused to send anymore with regards to the same issue.
GEKO as of Sep 8, 2010 have now registered a CCJ against my company for an amount under 500 ponds which I believe is the phone and I also believe that once I accept this, ORANGE may try to claim anothe 1000 ponds on a contract for a phone which was in my possession for less than 48 hours in total, over 18 months ago.
I intend to fight this in court and in the public domain. I also work for a TV and we will be looking at other claims like this as I believe I am not alone in this. The TV channel is currently investigating all claims and so, if you have had similar issues with Geko Direct you can write to geko@ohtv.co.uk- Caller: GEKO DIRECT

- Guy Hagan| 1 replyPlease do not do business with these rediculous cowboys. I fell for the enticing offer of getting me out of a unsatisfactory contract for my business phone for 2 new blackberry smart phones. Geko owe me over £500 in reimbursements of the termination fee with my previous supplier. I am still waiting, its been 3 and a half months. The latest excuse was that the MD missed the appointment in which he had to sign off my payment. They just emailed me this morning saying the next appointment is in 6 weeks time......If the MD doesn't want to be there, its one heck of an advert....Please stay away, its just not worth it and they do not do anything that they say........

- Raymond replies to Graham, PD Transport| 3 repliesGeko is the worst company I have ever dealt with, also, I was so unfortunate to sighn a contract with them after I was promised to get £1000 cash back. Since I signed the contract I have been having difficulties speaking to them. they promise to come back to you but never do.
I highly advise anyone who get called by Geko to advise them to have a look and see what people say about them.
GO TO the network provider directly, its easier, more professional, honest, and in most cases cheaper.
Geko is only interested in signing a contract.
raymond. - TLR racer replies to Raymond| 2 repliesI have just done a claim against Geko, as i too have been waiting 6 months for my termination fee to be paid, I also called Orange who were very helpful and put my contracts down to lower monthly rate and cancelled my insurance on the phnes i have, maybe we should all get together and visit Telford, im up for it!!

Even the networks themselves don't want to be associated with them - tlrracer replies to TLR racer| 1 replyGood news....At last the payment of termination fee has been made, just had to take them to court !!
- Miffed replies to tlrracerHi Guys
I too was sold a 24 month Orange contract by Geko.
The deal was to include a direct contribution paid monthly from Geko to Orange.
To my shame (being a busy 2-man band type business and always short of time) I never actually checked this had happened until I got the letter after 12 months informing me that the payments were now completed as they only applid to the first 12 months. News to me!!
So when I checked if the payments had been made I found out that they had only been made for the first 4 months anyway.
I first spoke to Ali in Geko finance department on 25th September and was informed that due to a "computer problem" payments had been missed and that the full outstanding amount (8 months worth) would be paid to Orange on there next "payment run" on October 8th.
After no payment was received by Orange by the 14th Oct, I again spoke to Ali. I was then informed that the "payment run" was actually between the 8th-29th October so would be paid by the end of October.
Well, I checked my orange account again on 11th November and you guessed it - no payment. On the same day I spoke to Ali again who assured me of an oversight and promised payment was definitely in for the "November run".
This morning (2nd December) and you guessed it, nothing showing in my Orange account. Unfortunately Ali was not in the finance office, but Lyndsay assued me that it has been paid within the November payment run (but couldn't tell me when) and would appear in my Orange account over the next few days at the worst.
So that's the first time that I have been told that it has been paid, let's see if that happens and of course I'll report it here either way.
Personally I will be glad when this contract is over and I will never buy a contract from any 3rd party again. The contract with Geko would have saved me a very small amount over the 2 years had the "rebate" been paid over the 2 years as I was led to believe. In the event it has cost me a small amount of money assuming that they have actually paid me what they owe me.
If it hasn't been paid then it will be a 7 day letter and straight into court.
Sadly, it seems my experience is far from unique - Tony FGeko Direct Promise the earth and deliver nothing. There customer service is crap. When they want your custom there on at you all the time, they lure you in with offers to buy you out of your existing contract and will pay so much towards your bill each month or a lump sum. Well i can tell you now, they never pay off your old contract (i was being threated by court action from my old supplier because Geko never sorted it as promised) and have i had a penny off them towards my new contract as agreed......... the answer is NO. I have been on at them now for 6 months and still nothing, Even emailing a director thro' there web site is a waste of time..... AVOID GEKO AT ALL COSTS BE WARNED.

- ILOVEGEKO (:hello,
I'm Charlotte turner and im shocked with the complaints.
Yes geko have had there falls but im sorry i have never had a problem with them!
Before you ask i do not work for geko i have my own company which is Triad windows!
you should check it out im sure you'll find my name on the contact us page!
I'm always getting great deals from Geko. and i dont get 5 minutes of breathing!
you are all making up lies you just think your all good and stuck up your own ar**s - concerned individual replies to Geko| 2 repliesi agree with most aspects of the comments vernon has made.
i used to work for them in the birmingham office , of which one in telford, and stoke, i personally know customers have been lied to regarding discounts, yes they do offer standard packages but with cashback offer to reduce them, only for 12 months,(or say that they have to send an invoice after 3 months, which not all are covered) i was once told by dexter(you cannot give customer there money back til personally put deals on the board), not always telling customers of this or they will look at the package when your half way thru, they want you on high tarriffs as mr carter gets 30 percent of billed calls, as per mainline commissions. if you are a high user they can do something for you but the customer is the one paying these high bills for first 12 months, if you are not a band 5(high spend) customer they wont do anything. they can only deal with orange due to problems with o2 and tmobile retracting there dealer code, now for a successful company to be only able to offer one network rather than the 4 main ones should tell you something in itself.
Also if any customer has allowed or geko have stated that they will get the customers pac code, now this in unlawful and each individual case is liable for up to £5000 for breaking data protection act, sales staff were advised to sign customers signatures or use old data from previous deals(to make up as purchase order ) and also to make company letter heads to get the deal done straightaway.
now is that ethical?
now don't get me wrong they are trying to change, but obviously not enough by all the complaints they are receiving on here and also ccjs due to cashbacks and contract buy out that not have been paid.
Now Geko guys tell me if im wrong and i would be more than happy to give you my details lol,
My advice if you have any problems speak to a lawyer as all calls are recorded so they can provide this, especially if you have a time and date, there should be no issue to trace the call and quite easy to do from there side. - andrew| 2 repliesi feel so silly that i didnt google this company before i signed up with them, all of the above complaints is what i am going through right now with cashback etc, anyone know david carters home number ?
