No dis-respect to Jo but if you didnt work for Geko how can you commment on anything reagrding the work situation in that office!! You weren't there therefore you have no idea what was going on an you in your own words had to take the information from somebody else maybe you shouldn't listen to the gossip you are told either.

The Company closed and left 80+ staff with no wages and no jobs and that morally isn't right! Hense the frustration from the Staff which they are entitled too!!

Alot of things were going on in all offices of Geko that shouldn't have happened and if they were stopped maybe they would not have closed but who knows.The fact of the matter is you can not blame one office for a whole companys down fall. The blame lies on the Managment of the company that allowed these things to happen.

The Staff in the Stoke office were there to do a job just as you were Another Ex Brummy Geko. However you could argue the Stoke office were morally incorrect however they were doing what they were advise/allowed to do!

99% of the blame lies with the management pikeys at the stoke office (well dumb and dumber - i.e tim and tom warrilow) - they were clueless about sales, promised the customer so much but delivered so little - the office admin manager used to tear her hair out at the ropey deals she was asked to process by the sales director there.  If it wasn't for them Geko may have had a chance of survival

How can 99% of the blame for Geko's demise lie with a satellite office? What about the head office where key decisions were made? After all, the whole company went bust, not just Stoke.

These limited companies have been set up via the "Made SImple Group" http://www.madesimplegroup.com and have a "virtual office" at 145-157 St John Street in London; this address is their registered address on Companies House (a lot of dodgy companies do this, so you don't know where they are really based, or where the directors really live).
Beware of these 2 limited companies, they will tie you into terms and conditions of business that contain so many clauses you will never be able to leave, and if you do leave before the last day of your contract, they will send you an invoice for literally thousands of pounds. They did it at Geko, and they will do it again.
They will promise to save you money, they will promise to pay you cashbacks or reduce your line rental, just like they did at Geko, and you will never see a penny of this "saving", just the same as what happened at Geko. Geko folded owing customers around £300,000.00.
They are not interested in the customer whatsoever, they are only interested in feathering their own pockets and nests, and securing a mobile phone deal, from an unsuspecting customer, so they will receive their commission payment.
They left an entire workforce with no money at all by not paying them for 5 weeks, whilst they kept driving around in luxurious BMWs, Bentleys and Audis. Did they have to beg their bank to put their mortgage on hold as they had no money at all to pay any bills? They even set up the 2 new limited companies above (Jelly Tree Ltd and Cactus Mobile Ltd) on 9th May 2011 and 11th May 2011 - this was done before Geko had officially gone into administration on 12th May 2011. They are clearly only interested in themselves, and showed absolutely no care for their employees or any of their customers.

Deal with Jelly Tree Ltd and Cactus Mobile Ltd at your own peril.....

Former Geko directors Lacey Webb and Vincent Dovey have re-entered the fray, setting up two new b2b mobile phone dealerships in the wake of Geko Direct’s collapse last month.

Webb, who was previously Geko Direct’s customer services director, is listed at Companies House as the director of JellyTree Ltd, a Shropshire-based company, while former Geko finance director Dovey is listed as the company director of London-based Cactus Mobiles Ltd. Both are private limited companies.

Jelly Tree Ltd was incorporated on 9 May, just four days after Geko went into liquidation. Cactus Mobiles Ltd was set up two days later, on 11 May this year.

Jelly Tree’s website, which bears the Orange logo, describes the company as ‘an independent business to business mobile phone supplier’ which is nationwide and aimed at small businesses and charities.

It adds: ‘We are not the biggest or the oldest, but with over 30 years industry experience we are the best when it comes to giving you great service, because we know it’s more valuable than any cost savings and that’s exactly how we hope to keep your business in the future.’

Cactus Mobiles Ltd has yet to launch a website and lists no telephone number.

Orange b2b dealer Geko Direct, which was based in Telford, Shropshire, went under on 5 May with the loss of around 110 jobs. Geko MD Dave Carter attributed the company’s failure to cashflow problems.

At the time, some former Geko staff accused Orange b2b distributor Mainline of withholding revenues from Geko. However, Mainline robustly defended its involvement with the dealer.

The distributor claimed it had invested a ‘significant six figure sum’ in Geko but that Geko had failed to honour its side of the deal by raising further funds.

Neither Webb nor Dovey was available for comment as Mobile went to press.

Why dont any of you say who you are? tim was a prick but he brought the sales in, everything started to go wrong after lacey started taking over. any of you who disagree didnt work there or have started work for lacey or vince. where did the money come from for those startups? stoke did funny deals but did them with dave and lacey auth. all of you need to get a life and move on.
