Cactus Mobile is run by Vince Dovey (ex rip off Geko Fianance Director) avoid at all costs.  Not sure who they are connecting through, although to be honest avoid ANY business to business companies in Telford - any of them will have a sniff of ex-Geko about them

Thanks for the information. If I am goign to avoid business to business mobile phone companies in Telford would I be ok working with a business to business mobile phone dealer in, oooh for example, Stoke? Would that be much safer bet? No sniff of ex geko there

Don't you think it's time everybody moved on?  We all got our salary from the insolvency fund, some of us made a small profit from notice pay and redundancy.  Dave gave everyone of us a job, yes he might have had some different ideas about running a company, but we all profited from it!  Before Geko closed nobody walked out of Geko slating the company for its notions or business practices.  That isn't to say they were all bad, there were a good team of people dedicated to making Geko's business a better one.

I've read the administrators report and even they blame cashflow not fraud or bad business practices.  If Dave, Lacey and Vince have setup alone then good luck to them.  We all have to get jobs and move on, nothing we say or do is going to bring our old jobs back.

I see personal addresses and real names used on this site yet I doubt half of the names are who they say they are.  Maybe it is time to put Geko down to experience and move on, anyone who mattered knows my number and how to get hold of me.

have a look at a company called CENTO CONSULTANTS LTD based in Stoke, just down the road from the Geko building in Stoke Campbell Road. Company Directors Mike Prosser and Tim Warrilow, its nice to start fresh and below the radar and call all the Geko Base and think thats ok!!!!! i leave you to guess who they have working for them but i will give you a little clue all STOKE EX-GEKO employees.
wonder who they are connecting through and didnt they correct me if im wrong both directors contribute to all the large deals that went tits up and had massive clawbacks because they were all badly done, but both got their large wages every month????? promised them the earth and delivered nothing. im sure Rob Adams will have a spin on this and they were just trying to do their jobs!!!! A bit like Dave, Lacey and Vincey.

Here here Rob, this forum is becoming an embarrassing joke with all the bitching and finger pointing from ex staff. Company's go under all the time, it happens, you need to get over it and move on. If I had the choice between saving my family from living on the streets and firing some employees I didn't really care about, I would have done the same thing Dave did and so would all of you.

FYI, Cento Consultants has been in existence for years as it's Tom company and he was a self employed consultant at Geko. And seriously? You are all giving the directors and managers a hard time for starting up companies in an area of business they know a lot about? No way. I dont think Mr Carter and his "family" were ever at risk of being on the streets do you??? Or are you more out of touch than you actually believe? Take it from someone in the know... Mr Carter is, and never has, had to worry about where the next meal, car or house is coming from.
Come on linzi, I had you down as someone with more intelligence and credibility.

One point I can agree on is im glad its dying down, because I, like many think what has happened has happened, people lose jobs all the time, people get screwed over and guess what... Life isnt fair! is this something your all only just learning! GET A GRIP!!!

The staff at geko felt themselves something special, they all knew the misgivings of the company and the goings on, they all bought into the idea of getting paid before paying customers and now its bitten them on the [***] and its happening to them they dont like it!!! Ahhh Shame. We all got our money, some probably made more.... MOVE ON!

When other companies go under the staff arent as up in arms as the Geko Motley bunch, partly because:

1) All the staff there liked to believe they had there finger on the pulse of what was happening at Geko, and they didnt.
2)They were dillusional enough to believe that there self indulgant job titles meant something and they had a voiced opinion which meant something, and they didnt.
3) and, most pathetically, they believed that geko and the world owes them something... and guess what... IT DOESNT.

Hmmm a few things:

So your statement applies to you too, right? 2. Next time you decide to publicly belittle you ex co-workers, you should maybe have the balls to at least use your actual name.

3. It's "you're" not "your" and "their" not "there". Next time you question someones intelligence, at least check your spelling and grammar.

I thought you, more so than anybody else may of actually agreed with some of my points but I guess gramatically correct paragraphs and superb punctuation doesnt naturally equate to intelligence or any form of social intellect...

But to be fair i think you both had some valid points, the question really is who actually made Geko money the sales people or Managers who got paid stupid amounts of money?????

i don't think any Manager was worth 35-45k a year +bonuses, i can think of some sales people who deserved that sort of money for their hard work and back room staff that held the company together but Dave did not see that.

But hey too late now so no point worrying about it..everbody has moved on so HAPPY DAYS.

customer's are now all too aware of how petty childish and aimless some not all but some people who have posted comments on here that are ex geko staff. these are people who managed accounts and finacial goings on in the company.........they are now on here with the same aimless petty childish behavour for all to read.its no suprise the company went under,..is it

Linzi, i would just like to point out that the Carters don't seem to be doing to badly since this all took place. the kids have suffered a bit as no more private school (welcome to the real world) still got the mansion and cars...unlike the real victims like me!!! yes we got paid in the end but it was hard to make ends meet when no money coming in, when you live hand to mouth and nothing comes in for weeks on end it is harsh.
i have finally got my life together and a job, i do not wish bad on anybody but ive heard no hardship for them as he had enough money to buy data at £9000 and a car for £2900. you see my point!!!!!!

I think the real victims might be the people who took out contract with Geko in good faith. A few weeks is not really comparable to 14 months of hardship.

Who paid for Lacey's brand new Audi TT then ?  Why was Tim (the dim) paid a six figure salary - quite possibly the worst sales director ever.

Umm Lacey paid for her car? thats why shes selling it? if it was a geko car, the liquidators would have had it.
