I had a miscall from this number and when you try and ring back it says "this number has been terminated due to a potential breach of our terms of service".  Stupid people.

This number just rang me, all I heard was heavy breathing down the phone...then footsteps behind me... then he he came into my house and stabbed me the face...WTF??????

this number sometimes comes up on my mobile phone when my friend is calling me from skype

The caller is someone through Skype servers. I always revive calls to my mobile from this number and the caller is always my girlfriend through Skype.

This number was recorded after an unanswered call to my mobile. When I tried to ring back a recorded message (maybe from Virgin Media) warned me that the call might have come from outside the country.

You are missing the point:

This number indicates a call has been initiated using SKYPE

The problem is that scammers now use SKYPE to call your number especially from abroad because it's cheap to use SKYPE to make calls.  Thus, all scam calls from different unconnected sources will look the same (only one SKYPE number).  If you choose not to answer you may miss a friend's call who may be trying to contact you using SKYPE.

When I'm online I find it easy and convenient to make a quick call to any of my friends or family directly from my computer- yes, using SKYPE to their phone numbers !!

had this number call my mobile about 10 mins ago. called back and said this number had been disconnected due to something or other.

I find it amazing that posters here don't read what has been posted. I came here puzzled by a missed call on my mobile and realised that I had Skyped my mobile to maintain my Skype credit. I read through the posts and find several people explaining it's Skype and yet still after that there are posts asking who this is.

So to elaborate your excellent post, Skype is a service that allows people to make phone calls over the internet from their computers (as long as you have a microphone). This makes international calls very cheap. When I travel to America next month I will phone my parents using Skype, at a cost of 1p per minute. If my aged mother could walk to the computer it would be even cheaper - Skype to Skype calls are free, and you can have video as well (depending on your connection speed).

Because of this cheapness foreign scammers use it a lot. They might be phoning from Outer Mongolia, but the cost to them is still only 1p per minute. So it is not necessarily the same scammer (or uncle) who is phoning, as this this the number that Skype calls to UK numbers is routed through. That a call comes from this number MAY indicate a scammer, but not necessarily.

Got a phone call from this number from a  foriegn sounding bloke saying  that i had ordered some dvds that hadn't turned up (which i did) so i get how he knew my number and name but said that he was going to send me an email which i had to reply to which i won't  Funny how this happened straight after i had reported it to my credit card company from which the payment was taken from. Ill keep updating as and when..

i have had two calls from this number, both times it was an automated voice service stating that my system had performance problems, sounded convincing, also gave this domain SPPSW.com which does not exist.

i use skype - it diverts incoming calls to my mobile as you say, but it also forwards the CLI - ie the callers number, if the number is withheld then it displays unknown, so i am not sure that you are correct here.

Greavsie, many thanks for your sensible post, I fully get what you are saying, my daughters dad just called my mobile from skype and this number came up, I checked on here and your's is about the only post to explain things :-)

Phoned me on an ex-directory (work only number) - no idea how they managed to get this number as it is a private mobile number.

i received a missed call , tried to call back- recorded message that says phone disconnected

Called twice this evening, somebody actually spoke, said hello a few times then Asked how I was before I hung up thinking it was a hoax, number has now called again with a +44 tag (British ID call)

My parents called me using Skype and the number that showed on my phone was 02030513739.

Just recieved 3 calls from this number at 11pm, although the third time, it was a witheld unknown number, all calls were silent calls..
