Had a few missed calls - several in the evening, when I never answer the call if I don't recognise the number. Rang back and also heard a garbled automated message re echo tests (?!).  If ever I do bother to answer their calls, they will be getting short shrift from me!

Just got a call from this number and it is a scam. I don't know where they got my phone number from?

Had this number call me and wake me this morning. I answered + they hung up. I called back and they said something like "you are entering echo test + that the purpose of the test is to give you an understanding about the relationship between you and the machine that is running the application. Everything you say will be repeated back to you." How do I stop getting junk calls from idiots like this?

Got a call from this one this morning. As we all know what not to do, I didn't answer an unknown number.

Bill of £90.00 + ran up on my mobile to this number.   I don't even know how, as I certainly didn't make the call, and no-one else has access to my phone

£ calls in 24 hours, not answered but curious as to who they are.

got this caller today they call and dont tell me who they are till they have asked about my name address and date of birth which I will not give them they then say they cannot proceed and hang up

Missed a call from this number today, call it back and it said it was an echo test?

I have been notified that there are solicitors are calling people asking them if they have had any loans etc and that they can claim back PPI. If you hand over all the information to them they will go through everything and do anything to claim PPI back. However they end up making more money them selfs and very little goes back to the client. I can't remember the company name its first something. The E-mail went round work.

I have started to get these calls and they call any where from 8.30 till 9.00 at night. I am not answering and when I did call the number back to see who it was I got Echo test.  If I get anymore info I will post here.

First Call Group - Just got a call from 02070603887 this evening. Again!!! Challenged staff calling that I was getting sick of random cold calls and asked for some identification: was given the following www: firstcallgroup.co.za which routes straight to http://www.1stcallgroup.com - a South African call centre based in Durban. Said call was not a sales call but then demanded name of bank/creditors etc. When I refused was put through to 'manager' who reassured me they were calling from Manchester City Centre - from a no. 5 Queen Street - funny how I googled the address using Royal Mails postcode finder and surprise surprise, there isnt a Queen Street in Manchester City Centre. The caller promptly hung up. Just contacted my phone provider to get the call blocked! The confirmed details for this company are, might just fill there inbox with as much spam as I can find on the net:

Had a missed call from this number within an hour of posting my CV on a job search website. When I called it back, all it said was "echo test" so I hung up.  I am very careful where I give out my phone number so I can only assume it was distributed without my consent by cv-library.co.uk

Could be right I have my CV on there aswell and I had a missed call from them yesturday............Will not answer if they phone back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a call from an Indian-accented woman saying they'd "received my information from various sources regarding payment protection mis-selling". I asked where, they said "various sources".

I said that was bollocks. She hung up.

just had a call from this number and it was about an echo test too whatever that is.  i just hung up

I answered this call but they hung up without talking or leaving a message. When I rang back I got an automed message which asked me to speak into the phone so they could recored my name and play it back to me. I did not do this and I am very concerned about fraud.

Got a call from this number saying it was from a Samantha at First Call and that this was not a sales call.  Then she started talking about PPI so I challenged and asked which account this related to (because I know I've never paid for PPI) and she couldn't answer and put the phone down on me.

this woman rang me up regarding reclaiming my ppi insurance, when I informed her that I didnt have any loans etc and I had reclaimed my ppi insurance , I advised her that I had already reclaimed and she asked me if I was sure - unfortunately saw red and told her to **** off!!!! rah!!!!

same thing with me, has rung me 4 times this morning but doesn't let it ring for long enough to get to the phone before it goes off. very strange!!
