Mobile call asking to perform an echo test. Completely random.

A blank call - I didn't recognise the number on the ID and left it while listening to see who it was. No answer was left, just buzzing. Will now add to bar list.

I got a call this morning, I answered & they put the phone down.  

I don't have time for prank calls as I have just had a baby & a unwell Toddler..

Had 2 calls from this no. this morning.I called back & a machine requested me to speak to go through an echo test?????????

I have received a couple of these phone calls from this number. I registered with TPS (Telephone Preferred Service) this is where companies have to legally check if your number is listed and they are not allowed to contact you if it is.

My nubmer is already registered with TPS..... the calls have now started from this quiet (for now) number...!

I keep getting calls from this number I dont know who they are and they get quite abusive when  I tell them not to call back then they hang up

They called me today, once they hung up and the second time called me by name and said they could help me get money back. I told them I was signed up to TPS and they said they were calling from South Africa. Asked where they got my name and number they said from various databanks.  It looks like a UK number though doesn't it? Claimed to be First Call or something like that.  It's all getting a bit tedious.

I said. I didn't ask you to call me. I don't know who you are. I am ending this conversation, Good bye.

Really cross this evening - had a call from this number when i politely replied that we were okay for protected insurance the caller hung up. i have always been brought up to be polite and if someone is going to call my private number on a cold call thensurely the politeness must be the top of their list too!!!

I keep getting calls from this number, but they nearly always get my answering machine, but leave no message. They just want to know when I am in so that a sales person can phone and chat to me. It's annoying, but I now just delete it from the "New Calls" box

I got one of these calls this morning, and not for the first time. I am registered with TPS and have been for ages. My number is also ex-directory/unlisted. The caller said her name was Debbie and asked for me by name but got it partly wrong! I could barely understand what she was saying due to the thick accent. When I asked what are you calling about and what is the company name she said could I have a few minutes of your time to explain. I said no, so she rang off.

A few minutes ago:

"I'm from First Call and it is about your PPI"

"How did you get my number - I'm on the telephone preference service?"

Line went dead.

This number has been ringing my phone for a few weeks now, which I don't answer as it's unrecognised. They never leave a message so today I decided to answer it and got, in a drunken asian voice "Hello. Hello. You f*ck*ng *ssh*l* " so I told them "You're brave!" and they hung up. I've logged it as a malicious call (1477) for all the good it would do.

Missed several calls from this number, they do not leave a message. Today I answered and got someone on a mobile with a thick accent asking for a name I have not used in 11 years. I said there wasn't anyone here by that name and they hung up. I called the number back with 141 and got the same echo test recording that others have mentioned. I am also listed with TPS.

Nuisance call  just hang up when I pick up - Is this a London STD?

Received call from this number early evening, sounded as if from India, saying I was entitled to a refund on my personal insurance.  Told her not interested and she remarked that she was surprised that I did not want any money returned!   Told her not interested in cold calls - she put the phone down. I want to know HOW did she get my number and my name?

Got a call from this number today (the number has been calling for days), answered it, got asked was I Mr... (asked for me by name) which I said yes!  Then the caller who sounded from Mumbai said he was MR, and then put his hand over the mic muffling the rest! when I asked who he was again he put his hand over again muffling his voice! I said who are you, I cant hear you, his reply was "are you deaf" I said what, he said are "you deaf or dumb!!!!!" and then put the phone down!!!!!  Please can anyone let me know who these people are so i can take some action to stop this happening to other people.  Help please????
