Got a call from this number today (the number has been calling for days), answered it, got asked was I Mr... (asked for me by name) which I said yes!  Then the caller who sounded from Mumbai said he was MR, and then put his hand over the mic muffling the rest! when I asked who he was again he put his hand over again muffling his voice! I said who are you, I cant hear you, his reply was "are you deaf" I said what, he said are "you deaf or dumb!!!!!" and then put the phone down!!!!!  Please can anyone let me know who these people are so i can take some action to stop this happening to other people.  Help please????

Where did my number from. They claim to have gotten it from a database. When asked what database they put the phone down

Had a call from this number today connection was really bad, it sounded like it was from overseas not a local number in london. I then hang up. They are a pain.

Called today by a lady with a very strange accent and strange turn of phrase who said she was ringing about something to do with a of claim I could make for mis -selling on my credit card or mortgage I couldn't really understand her but strung her along for a bit but then got fed up with her lack of command of  English and told her I wasn't interested as I didn't have a credit card or mortgage!

Got a call saying they were trying to reclaim money back for PPI.He asked if i lived at a previous address and i said i had moved from there about 4 years ago.
He asked if i had taken out PPI or was i unsure. He said was the most recent for a credit card, mortgage or loan. I said I wasnt happy stating that and that he should know that if my name had come up, he went out about not being able to give out personal information. I hung up.

When I called back I got the echo thing.

Buy a whistle. I believe it works and can damage ear drums.

I received a call from this number, when I asked how he got my number, he said from various databases.  I asked him to remove my number from the databases and not call again.  He then became very rude and told me to just listen to him!  I told him that he had made an unsolicited call, had woken up my baby and I was not happy and he shouldn't call again and I hung up.

 He Immediately called back! Unbeliveable!  

I have been screening calls ever since.

Caller rang my mobile number three times but didn't answer it

this s not the first time I have been called by this number what is annoying though is that as soon as I answer my phone they hang up, is it a mans voice that puts them off continueing with the call ?

I got a call this afternoon from 02538020308 and 02070603887 The first one wanted to repair my unbroken computer. the second one said my wife was going out to dinner with him.
The first caller was a woman, Indian sounding voice. The second caller was male African sounding voice.
I did not respond to the calls.

Got £84 mobile bill this morning and rang O2. They say I called this number on 20/08/11 for 4 hours (even though I didn't) the call was made at 1.38 in the morning. This number previously rang me on the 17/08/11 and the duration of that call was 49 secs!! Do not answer this number at all. It is a scam and O2 are looking into it for me. The call is automated and says it is an echo test!!

Had a call today, guy said he was from 'First call' something or other and said I had been missold PPI on a recent loan that I had just paid off. Co-incidently I have recently completed a loan on a car purchase but didn't have PPI. He said "you have just completed a loan, haven't you?". I said "that is confidential information which you should not have and under the data protection act I demand to know where that information was obtained from". He replied we have various data sources. I repeated my question and he hung up.

Pesty cold caller chasin PPi refund claims

I have just had a call from these muppets - Indian woman who clearly didn't have a clue  - I said I was so glad she had called as I needed help with reclaiming PPI, she sounded very excited, I then put the phone next to the TV and played her CBeebies with me occassionally interrupting with, "just a moment I am getting all the information" - After 15 mins SHE hung up !

Waste of time. They can change their phone numbers more quickly than you can change your underpants.

Had a very rude lady. Taking about ppi claims, (in a broken English accent). Appeared to me to be very dodgy. She ended the conversation with the words F*** You & then hung up !!!

Called today then hung up when I answered. Very annoying.

Also received a call from this number over the past few days. Had the 'This is an echo test' message too. Anyway this number can be blocked on a iphone?  Repeated calls around the same time everyday. no message left and on returning the call only get an automated response stating "this is an echo test, anything you say can be recorded and repeated back to you" or similar message. I'm not calling the number again to get the exact message.

Had a call from this yesterday, sounds like same woman, must be busy. Also found the same when calling back - echo test number.
Went along with it for a few minutes, telling her nothing she didn't seem to know already, until she asked "if I still had the credit card" at which point I hung up.
Concerned that this may well be a scam, phishing for credit card details.
Reported it to the police at Maidstone.
