Had call from this number on 7/11/11 Tried re-calling via button 3 but all I heard was a "scrape" followed by silence.  Then I pressed redial and I heard only five digits being dialled plus the same scrape and silence

A long silence.

Just received call from this number. Picked up phone but no response from the 'person' who phoned me.

this number rang my house and asked to speak to my wife.asian male.when i told him she was out he hung up.very dodgy

I've just had a call from this number after a few missed calls everyday.  An asian woman asked for me by my previous surname and then proceeded to tell me that the 'banks' had asked her to ring me.  When I asked which bank she was defensive and then I told her I thought she was talking rubbish and wasting my time.  She got really annoyed and started shouting that the call was recorded and could be played back and that I was being rude to her.  I just said, I'll tell you whats rude - 'F*** Off', then she hung up - another scam, do people really fall for them

Had 3 silent calls from this number 02070603887 so far today.
I had some more silent calls earlier in the week although I didn't do a 1471 on those ones, but I suspect they probably were the same source. This comes in conjunction with an increase in recorded message calls this week advertising legal claims on mis-sold payment protection insurance which other people have also mentioned in this thread.

Had a call from this number but i hung up as was too busy to speak, just called them back, took 4calls to get through (i persisted cos i thought it might have been about a job), then a guy picks up and all i heard was refund on PPI and i told him no thanks and he said ok, end of conversation

I have received lots of calls from this number and until today didn't know who it was.  As I have family and friends in London thought it was one of them. I have now blocked the number on my mobile.  Also getting calls on my landline day and night from an 08000 number now but they never leave a message either!!

Like many others I am on TPS - keep finding missed calls with no message from this number.  Having looked it up on this site they are clearly still persisting - clearly no point wasting time answering as their script must tell them to hang up as soon as anyone asks questions that may help to identify them.

got a call from this number, saying I might be elligiable for a ppi refund, put the phone down straight away. annoying as hell

just got a call off theis number saying something about ppi told them to take my number of the system and they hung up not the first time i have had a call from this number very anoying

Just had this - as I was expecting a call from central London, I just googled the number before ringing back. Rang off before I could get to the phone (15 seconds?) grr.

Just received a phone call from this number.  Without confirming or denying my name, I asked who was calling.  The foreign sounding man asked me to confirm my name again.  Again without confirming any name to him, I asked who was calling & again he didn't answer.  I told him that I was registered with the TPS & he insisted that he wasn't making a sales call & I was due a large refund.  I told him that was rubbish & again told him that I was registered with TPS & that I wanted him to remove my number from his database.  Again he insisted that it wasn't a sales call.  He was very persistent & by this time I was getting rather fed up with him, so I just told him to stop phoning me & remove my number from his database as he was breaking the law by phoning me & then I hung up.  Grrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... So persistent & annoying.  When I have phoned the number back, a different man answered & announced himself as Michael from 'First Call'.  He said that he could see that someone had already phoned me & then I told him that I had already reported the them/the caller to TPS.  'Michael' asked me if I had said that I had reported them to TPS & I confirmed that I had.  At that point, 'Michael' apologised & said that he would remove my details & said goodbye!

I am tempted that if they phone again, to just put the receiver by teh TV & see how long the talk to the TV for!  LOL.

"This is not a sales call" they said, but obviously they are touting for business in recovering your PPI overpayments, claimed to have information on all the finance I've taken out over the last 6-10 years in front of him (there isn't any, actually, and I never paid PPI on anything).

If the CLI number presented goes back to a line test facility of some kind, then how can you possibly think this is a reputable company? Avoid.

Phoned home number despite TPS registration years ago, told her to delete my number and she shouldn't be phoning it, she said I can claim money and she's not selling anything, I told her to **** off.
