Devere group have offered training in malta to my partner after contacting him via linked in. He is due to start in the Milan office if he passes the training and exams. There is no offer of any retainer but commission based. I smell a rat - basically he needs to work for 3 months on no pay and fund flights and accommodation. I've just spoken to an ex employee by chance and he stated that he came home after three months £5k out of pocket. He sold one package and office costs were deducted from the amount. My partner was made redundant in sept from a sales manager position and has no financial sales experience it worries me. Sounds too good to be true!

Perhaps he plans to fall back on his savings, or yours...

Don't do it, I did waste of time and money, basic 4.5 day course in Malta, when you arrive at your location at your expense you do not get the retainer you are promised, only after 3 months and that gets clawed back out of commission which you don't earn as there is NO training Or support... Give them a wide birth !!!

I was in the same position, it was a waste of time and money.
They tell you what you want to hear on the course, which in no way prepares you for the real world !!

They're ambitious, that's for sure. They apparently want a long-term relationship with a 78-year-old. (As opposed to a long-term relationship with the rest of his money.)

I did not succeed at devere, but i also did not suceeded in other companies within the industry and if you do check devere is regulated by FSA and relevent authorities in all the countries that require regulation for offhore services. i think it is not right to say that you know everthing about them if you have never been a client or employee. so looks like you are a competitor or just a malicious person with nothing better to do.

Ill share my experience with you. I agree alot what you say because when you cold call someone
its all BS. You dont even know who the guy is and he dont know you. SO  you call a stranger to arrange a
meeting and take money from him. Come on give me a break. Here we do alot of business through referrals.
We are at events having an established name. We are known and recognize and Cold calling here is forbidden.
Any cold callers out of the door. Not tolerated. Bunch of crooks they are

Avoid them like the plague. Hard sell, cold calling thieves
