02072454429 (charlotte Lewis)
Asked them for a returned call as i wanted more info.
Left message with a Mobile as i was busy checking them out: Clive Jones
Don't understand why they called me, as i have no product knowledge about Investment, Stock, Shares for a Job Role, especially for Abroad.- Caller: Devere Group
- LOKOMOKO replies to Anoneumousethey wanted you to work abroad?
I had a missed call also today.... - Kay replies to John SobeyHi,
My other half just had a call from them too - are they bogus or any idea what the hell is going on????
Kay - Diana| 1 replyI got a call today from Charlotte from the DeVere Group asking me to work abroad for a financial banking organisation - I've got no experience in this field. So what's that all about??
- Caller: De Vere
- Alan replies to Dianathink its obviouse to say this is a scam although iv been in sales for around 7 years they basicley guranteed me the job if i went to interview with them for a job earning £150,000 basic lol and i have no knowledge or experience in this sector.
- Loggsie| 3 repliesReal company, Clive Jones is a real person and I have met with him personally. I came from a finance background, although from my knowledge of the company this is not required to work with them as the company will train you in the job role.
I received a call on my mobile as I had uploaded my CV via monster.co.uk, indicating that I was happy to work overseas.- Caller: deVere Group
- True replies to Loggsie| 2 repliesThey have offices in Knightsbridge London. Same as most of you my background is Insolvency for many years. So was really surprised when they said they had a position working in Stocks & Investments which they thought matched my CV. Would love to work abroad, however somethings sound to good to be true. Would be nice to know if this is genuine work or just another scam....
- Ian| 1 replyJust had a missed call on my mobile.
I have a financial services background and have recently registered my cv with a couple of agencies.
Reading these messages makes me think I'll give them a miss. - Tomlikespies replies to IanHi, I had a call from them today too. After researching them a bit online,
they are a financial telesales company..
You would be working abroad, cold calling expats to set up meetings with
"financial advisors" who would no doubt hard sell them an overpriced tax
evading financial package..
You can earn huge sums as bonuses are very good, but pay is COMMISSION
ONLY. So you could be in call centre in Ukraine with nomoney, or minted in
Monaco - dana| 9 repliesare they really based in knightsbridge, as it looks like they are based outside london. got a call from this recruiter today and he sounded very dodgy...ok, ok after each sentence, as if i was a nursery child...i don't think they are genuine, they want you to pay for your travel expenses and then they will not refund anything
- Peter RobinsonI worked for them. I assure you it's all above board. It's a pure commission role with the biggest Financial Consultancy internationally. The telesales staff book appointments for consultants. Consultants can earn between £100,000 and £250,000 (a good, realistic average) in today's economy. Most don't have the stomach for it as you have to prosepect entirely yourself. They broker for people like Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Friends Provident, Zurich, Generali etc. If you are sales driven, money driven and a self starter consider it. If not, steer clear as it's a tough, but rewarding industry. Hope this helps.

- nailorthejailor replies to John Sobeywho are these guys? I had a call today from them.
- ZuricherI got a call from them today.
They promote something involving failure to declare income to the authortities.
I'm not a lawyer but the phrase tax evasion came to mind. Whether it is or isn't is for the experts to decide.- Caller: De vere
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Pablo| 3 repliesI've had the call and followed up with a visit to the office. Yes Dana (Above) they are in Knightsbridge.
They seem to be a professional sales organisation providing sound financial products from the worlds largest Banks to British and other expats worldwide.
The calls that many of you are receiving are not Job Offers, they are invitations to apply for a job, this is somewhat different. Alan, for example (See Above) what be unlikely to get a job offer as he cannot spell.
With regard to Financial Services qualifications, a successful candidate must pass the relevant exams within the country that they are to operate in. This involves a lengthy training process within that country. The UK exams are not neccesarily relevant abroad.
Zuricher (Above) talks naively of 'Tax Evasion' when referring to 'Tax Efficiency'. There is a considerable difference. As Zuricher can not understand the difference then he (Or she) is also probably wrong for the job.
These jobs are only suited to those who are likely to succeed in Sales, you'll need a strong work ethic and should not neccessarily be looking to improve your lifestyle. some of the postings are in pretty unglamouress locations.- Caller: deVere
- ian| 8 repliesI'm attending a meeting at their knightsbridge office with Nigel Green who is the groups CEO.
I too have been phoned because I have worked overseas before. It can't hurt to hear what they have to say - Doug replies to ian| 1 replyLet us know what its all about when after you attend the meeting!
- pieter replies to Dougmate read the mail from the guy who worked there (robinson). its accurate believe me!
- Doug replies to ian| 3 repliesI'm pleased to say that it is all above board and is not a shame. The CEO Nigel Green explained all about the business the role we potentially could be doing and all the locations we could work in.I stress it wasnt a JOB Offer but an open day, The next stage is interviews then a weeks training in Knightsbridge (which they Pay for) and at the end of the week you sit an exam. Which you have to pass. If you lucky to pass you go to your desired location. the role IS COMMISSION ONLY. I probably would think twice about it if I had a perm salary however I havent and have nothing to lose. The commission is unbelieveable and un capped. They can find you acom overseas but you have to pay for it. About the apointments a local co-ordinator arranges them for you which you pay him 20% of you comms, but he vets them and asks them questions to make the qualify so there is less of a chance of siting in front of a timewaster. They are looking for people with a personality if you are a nerd or just a finance geek this isnt for you, you are dealing with ex-pats and locals to save them money (tax free) investments, its all legal and above board. You dont have to have a finane bakground but you do have to have a sales background, you recieve all product training its up to you to sort your own pitch out. Only consider this if you are really keen of living overseas, believe me I have done for several years and it an be very hard and if you are going to give something up the last thing youwant to do is regret failing . hope this has helped.
- banker| 4 repliesI also had some involvement with them about 4 years ago and was approached by them after working for 10 years in financial services. They are a hard sell organisation that pester ex-pats abroard, a friend of mine also worked for them briefly in Saudi Arabia until he discovered that they did not have the licences to operate they claimed to have and chose to leave in a hurry. Operating offshore they are completely unregulated by the FSA, which is why they don't provide financial advice in the UK only recruit staff. Stay well clear !!!!!
