They must have changed their number. I got a phone call this afternoon from a woman who called herself Davina or Diana on 0207 580 1023 (when I asked, she gave me her direct line as being 0207 323 588).  She said she was calling from Paparazzi Studios based on Oxford Street.

She gave the name of my friend's boyfriend (who I have no contact details for) saying he put forward my name for a free photo shoot, including hair, make-over and champagne.  She said that I needed to book a session by the end of today and they'll take £60 deposit incase I don't show up.

I said it's suspicious to give money as a deposit. She asked for my email address which I didn't give.  I gave nothing away and instead hurried her off the phone and asked for the number I should phone her on.

i got a call from the 3 weeks ago and stupidly gave over my card details because my friends went and said it was really good but the photos are really pricey so i thought ill go and just get like a couple of photos and after he had my details on the phone he then told me how much the deposit was of 60 pounds but i only had 10 pounds in my account which i was using to get to college ( the guy booking was clearly indian and had no clue) i said to him oh dont worry then because i wont be able to get to college without that money plus i have exams this week and he replied with do you not want to try it just incase ? to which i replied with no and he put me on hold and came back and he had taken the money out of my account and i was like excuse me ? and he said thats what i told him to do which is an out and out LIE! he then put the 'manager' on the phone who was telling me how he cant refund me and to be honest how can they not refund people ? surley theyve had clients that have cancelled before. i asked the manager how he planned to compensate for the fact that i would now have to miss a week of college because of his staff and he replied (sniggering down the phone) you shouldn't have given us your details and i know i shouldnt have but at the same time he shouldnt have put it through if they where a professional company they wouldve understood, i even offered to call back when i got paid and he said no, the guy booking was SONNY and actually he had sort of a south african/australian accent. i called up like 5 times in 2 days and they said david would call me, 3 weeks have passed...NOTHING david even said himself he shouldn't have put that through for 10 pounds so you can have the photo shoot for 10 pounds and you wont have to pay anything else i called them today asking for david and the lady said he'll be available from 10 30 am to 11 am and then made the mistake of saying call him at 11 20 am i was like fine i know whats happening here, i am going to contact the police because at the end of the day i know its only 10 pounds but thats my money that i worked hard for and i needed that money to go to college, i had data protection on my account before they called me so there is no possibility of fraud, i get an ID ALERT from my bank every month and nothings changed with my bank, nobody's tried to get into my account ect. ive left 3 messages with their 'customer care' department and i phone it all the time and it goes back to voicemail,

I got a call last Saturday 26 March saying i've won a photoshoot with Paparazzi. Their number has chanegd to 02075801023. They were obviously reading a script cos everything said in the other postings was what was said to me. I have a one year old daughter and said rather than a friend, I would like to come with my daughter and husband which they totally agreed to saying Paparazzi has a family friendly environment.

I asked the guy who called me how much the photos were, but he couldn't tell me. I asked other questions about the cost of the photos even a ballpark figure but he wouldn't budge. He then asked for a £40 refundable deposit which i then replied i can't hand over my account details to a company I've never heard of. I told him to send me the company details so i can check online before comitting to it. He didnt want to call back saying its first come first served unless they get a deposit. That's when alarm bells started ringing. He was really desperate for the money, when he saw that i wouldnt budge, he agreed to call me back before he closed at 4pm. Fortunately, being a wkend, i was too busy to check my emails so i didnt answer his call.

I'm glad i found this site cos it looks like its a scam to get as much money out of you. I did a professional makeover photoshoot about 10yrs ago and it didnt cost more than £500 then. I definitely wont be going to Paparazzi cos it seems they work on your emotions like someone posted before and in my case with my family, I would have been scammed.

You are allowed to refuse the alcohol!
I went there myself, as the shoot was for free. Me and my partner really enjoyed it. of course, the photos are stupidly expensive and we only came away with 4 out of 120 of them. however, I really enjoyed the day, and funnily enough didn't allow ourselves to get sucked in to spending £1000s on photos.
Also, my friend had a free photo shoot, and when they called they told her she would get a disk of all of her photos for free. This actually proved true, and they gave her the disk absolutely free, so they aren't entirely awful!!

Called me just now, and I kept the guy talking, googled him and told him that he was a scam. Apparently my friend had been there for a photoshoot yesterday, but she was in Germany...

I just received a call from them, they said my friend refer d me, but it was someone I actually knew and she has been uploading pictures from London. I listened to him and he said what day would you like to come, I said is it possible for me to talk to my friend first and get back to them or they ring me back another day and he said because it is a competition its first come first serve and he cant do that, I then said okay and chose a date next month (planning on cancelling if my friend doesn't know what its about) however when he asked for a deposit, I googled whilst on the phone and quickly read some of your messages and THANK YOU! haha although I wouldn't of given a deposit anyway as i get paid Friday and I always run out of money just before pay day so i am skint haha But he was very convincing when he said if you hold a second i can go ask my manager if i can lower the deposit and was off the phone way too quickly to have spoken to anyone.

This number for Paparazzi has been calling me for two weeks now, it's the 0207 number that everyone else has been referring to. When i tried to call back it went straight to an answering machine, then three days ago I had a voicemail message left on my phone and they used my full name and said to call them back as soon as possible. I find this disgusting how anyone can get hold of your number so easily, only my close friends and family have my number and I've never had any calls like this before, it's really beginning to annoy me as they're always calling me and I can't call back to tell them to go away as it goes straight onto a voicemail, any ideas how I can stop them from calling?

Worry not! It may just be their fevered final attempts to catch you. Paparazzi is the trading name of Studio London Limited who are "In Administration". They owe more money than can access. This could mean their phones will automatically go dead when their telecoms provider gets jittery.

Nice! Paparazzi Studios is a scam and you know how they get away with it don't you?

    1) They take your money and bank it into an account for:
    PAPARAZZI STUDIOS LIMITED
    3RD FLOOR, 90-92
    GREAT PORTLAND STREET
    LONDON
    W1W 7NT

    2) When you ask for a refund (crap photos, over charged etc) they say they cant because the company is in administration / liquidation and to contact someone in Essex who is "taking care of everything"

    Repost replies to Nick's mate
    SATURDAY, 8 JANUARY 2011

    Paparazzi Studios - another scam?
I can't believe I never posted this up on the blog. It's a former Studio London employee spilling the beans. He/She wants to remain anonymous, so all I can say is Mr/Mrs Anonymous, I am very grateful to you for gifting me (isn't that the parlance nowadays?) the gift of closure. Now read on...

Before I start, I'd appreciate it if (should you choose to publish anything I mention) you kept my name from the record. I'm a (thankfully) former employee of Studio London's.
I should probably begin by saying that Studio London has recently been taken into administration - they are now masquerading under the name Paparazzi Studio.
The comment you posted replies to about a month ago is largely a load of rubbish. When Studio London/Paparazzi Studio make a booking, they take a deposit for two reasons - firstly to try and ensure you turn up, and secondly to attempt to make *some* money out of you in the event that you decide not to pay them any more money for photographs (they will try to give you a print or digital image in return for keeping your deposit; though they will [begrudgingly] return your deposit if you are adamant that you don't want to buy anything.)
There is no 'cost associated with' reserving a photographer or allocating a time slot. All hair, make-up, photography, and sales are done broadly on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don't turn up, the photographer isn't going to sit on his [***] for the time it would have taken to take your pictures; he'll simply be allocated someone else (and the make-up artists, photographers, and hair stylists have no idea who they're going to see right up to a few minutes before they see them).
As a matter of fact, the company is completely reliant on people not turning up - the management has a policy of overbooking, to the point that if even 75% of the people booked in on any given day were to turn up, the studio would have an incredibly difficult time dealing with them all, leading to the customers having a very disappointing experience, and the latest ones (those with appointments in the early afternoon) probably either a) waiting around until very late in the evening (after ten o'clock, in some cases) to be shown their pictures and given the hard sell, or b) after having had a further (refundable, but completely unnecessary) £50 'holding deposit' attempted to be taken from them, being told to come back another day in order to be shown their pictures and given the hard sell. Failure to be shown one's pictures and be given the hard sell results in the loss of one's deposit.
I should also say that the people who work 'on the front line' of the company, and actually deal with the customers, do, in general, an excellent job, given the farcical way in which the company is run. They are aware of the dubious business practices they are employing, and are as dismayed by them as the customers are - but are usually unable to do much about them without going out of their way to deceive or placate the management staff (which does occasionally happen). They are not paid anywhere near the amount they deserve for the hours they work and for what they have to put up with - but I suppose that that is true for many jobs. Management (or 'directors', as they prefer to be called), on the other hand, are paid far too much for what they do - but again, that is true for many companies.
I think that's all for now.

0207 582 1023 just called me to say I entered a competition on ilove2win.com (?) within the last year and a half (?) and I won a luxury 5* pampering session with a free makeover and photoshoot. She confirmed she was calling from Paparazzi. Thank god for google search as I politely said 'nah'. Nothing in life is free people!
