0208

I have been called by this 0208 number 3 times today, they don't hang up as soon as I answered, they waited until I spoke first before disconnecting the call, the second and third time I waited for a few minutes before saying hello and they waited too.. So my advice is to stay silent for as long as you can :) you know it's a good job I trust my partner and instead of flying accusations in his direction tried to find the culprit instead and found this site or I wouldn't be deemed crazy for thinking it was suspicious, these imbeciles could cause a lot of unnecessary grief!! this called a few times today really annoying as we have been waiting for an important call

I've had this number (0208) ring me twice in the last 20 minutes and also the same last week, both times the asked for me by name, "is this J**** Y****?"...I am always suspicious of callers asking for me by name so I never say "yes", I just kept asking "who's calling please?", 3 times she asked, 3 times I replied with the same answer, she put the phone down.
Next time I wont be so polite!

i have had 12 within 10 mins so when i answerd the last call i never spoke when i answered and they speat asking your name and personal details so i gave them a mouth full of abuse and they havent phoned back in the past 2 hrs>

ive had calls by this number for 4 days so far, two calls have been a woman who sounds Chinese who asked by name for someone i don't no and also a man asking for the owner of the house and asking me to help fill out a questionare, but today ive been getting just weird dial tone noises when i have picked up the reciever, i have this weird feeling that Ebay might have something to do with them getting hold of the numbers as i buy alot of stuff from China ect...
also i have noticed when i have brought off Ebay international i get a huge amount of junk mail, weird and sooo frustrating!!!!

Had several calls from 0208 and from INTERNATIONAL with nobody on the line, I have spoken to BT and they say that these calls are very common at present in the UK and advised me to pick up phone and then replace without making any noise as this indicates a dead line and the calls will stop. If you speak and get no reply it indicates to the caller that you're on a live line and they will continue to call you. So for this one forget your whistles and shouting as it will do no good.

Getting loads of calls from various 0208 numbers. Most seem to pop up on one or other of these discussion lists. Suggest blocking them as they come in or not answering this code. I only give out an android mobile number with Kapersky installed, which allows you to black list numbers and block them for good.... might be worth looking into if you have calls to your mobile....

we keep getting calls from this number but when we answer it, the other end goes dead.

We've had several calls from both a number displayed as 0208 and one displayed as international! Same with us when we answer it just cuts off! Getting annoying though now as its 9.10pm and just received another call! Not what u want when your settling down for the night! Also i work for a care home and although no number or i.d was displayed we've been getting lot of calls where u answer and they hang up!

Well I have NO idea who this is, picked up as I had never seen "0208" just a 4-digit number on my caller display, and they hung up as soon as I picked up. So still have no idea who it was. Dont think I'll bother picking up again though.

Same issue from 0208 and also withheld numbers, 10 calls today.

Had many dozens of calls from 0208, and International, and withheld # over the last two weeks, and around 20 today alone! - Please don't think bad of me, but I will most definitely hack their gonads off with a very blunt instrument, preferably rusty, and soaked in some form of flesh-eating virus if I ever get my hands on them.

received a call when I picked up the other end was put down. I called 1471 to be told the number was ..0208 nothing more.
Who is doing this

Got a call tonight from 0208 as displayed on phone wanted to know if I was the owner of the phone line then proceeded to tell me he was from consumer something or other. asked him to repeat but then he hung up. Bloody annoying.

Got a call today from 0208 - they asked for the lady of the house and said they were conducting a survey that would only take one minute. I asked them the name of the person they wanted to speak to "erm... oh... Jennifer Smith" I said they had the wrong number and then they hung up!

I've been recieving Calls for a few weeks now with no-one talking and the number being blocked but today i recieved a csall from 0208 that was the entire number is it a scam ? or should i forget about it?

received a silent call from 0208, that is all I get when calling 1471. There was someone on the other end I could hear them but they said nothing. After 10-15seconds they hung up on me. Surely someone should do something about these sorts of calls. Why must we be subjected to this. We are getting this more and more frequently

Just received another call from 0208 wanting to speak to the owner of the house. I asked who they are looking for, they said I want to speak to the owner of the house. They don't have anyones name just cold calling nonsense.
