David Walker called, ostensibly from the Parliamentary Information Office about the 'Excellence of British Manufacture' - asked for the director, obvious sales pitch, but people rarely get past me for things like that.

Quite new-posh accent (as in rather put on.)

Had a call last week from a guy who's name I can't remember. Said that the book was on the speaker's desk - I called a friend who works at Hansard and she said this is a lie that they have been using for years!

These people are frauds and I have done a background check on Google which confirms this. I have spoken to companies that have adevrtised and been told that they never received their directory, were hassled in a rude and unfriendly manner for payment and have since found the whole thing is a scam. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

David Walker called me from Parliamentary Information Office about a report on environmental sustainability. What he said sounded unbelievable - which MP's would ever be interested in golf courses or golf course architects!! None! Scam written all over it.

Just received yet another call from the Parliamentary Information Office - Richard Lewis (very posh accent) wishing to speak to our MD (using his first name) this time on the Government Initiative on the Legacy of 2012.  He said our MD would definitely be interested in speaking with him.  Left his number 0208 956 4110.   This company calls us on a regular basis real time wasters and an obvious scam.

Call from Tom Collins selling space at a mere £4950 or for 500 words, a paltry £2750

Had three calls from Joseph Tanner from the 'Parliamentary Yearbook Team', re "Excellence in Accountancy".

Me: "So, you're a civil servant?"
Tanner: "Yes".

3rd and (I hope) final call-
Me: "What's the bottom line, how much?"
Tanner: "500 words and half page of images would be £2750, however if finaancial budgets are tight, I could have a word with my manager ....."

Clearly a refugee from double glazing.
CAVEAT EMPTOR.

I have just received a call from "Richard Lewis" I recognised his put on posh voice and said I would ask the M.D to phone him back.  

I put his number into google and found this website.  Glad to know I am not the only person who has to deal with such calls.

I have just received the exact same call. Regarding a Government Initiative in excellence in regeneration. I had the feeling it was a sales call...

got a call from the Parliamentary Information Office asking for our MD as he had good news regarding excellance in Manufacturing, his name was Richard Lewis. I asked were the office was based as number is 0208 and was told Finchley which I thought was a little odd for an office connected to Whitehall. So I googled the number and found this page!

Got a call from a "Richard Lewis" saying he was from the Parliamentary Information Office about a Regeneration Government Initiative - rubbish!

Had a call from a Ms Seagal.  On trying to question her further about why she wanted to talk to management she was very abrupt and rude.  I therefore finished the call.  Looked up this site and am pleased I do so.

The company does produce these books but the distribution is questionable and it does not sit in the Speaker's chair. Most of the sales staff use aliases and lie through their teeth. Avoid.

Got a call from DAVID WALKER of the Parliamentray Information Office, stating he was ringing regarding a new Government initiative on waste management, recycling and sustainability, which is being headed up by the Secretary of State (Caroline somebody).

Would only talk to the Director, who is away this week.....will see if he phones back, but I will be prepared 'cos have googled his telephone number and found all this.....!!
