I've had 2 calls from this number today 16/04/2010 most annoying but reading comments about this and the ofcoms comment on james site has made me feel abit better as you hear people ringing you and when you pick up it charges you alot of money just connecting the call. Hope not to get anymore but it sounds as though I will.

8 times this has phoned and hung up

I am getting everyday two times very annoying.
Any one find out who is this and why they doing like this?

ive had this call a few times, They dont say anything so you will ring them back to find out who it is then you will probably be charged all kinds for the call,
it is annoying

This number has been calling me non stop for the last two weeks and all I have been getting is a quiet line.

However, today success!  It is a company called 'The Lifestyle Research Centre' who apparently run marketing research calls.

this number is a pain in the bum! having a busy day getting jobs done then this guy rings and asked me one question, when i asked who he is he hangs up! cheeky git!

It doesn't matter if you are registered with the TPS, these calls still get through.I should know, I'm still getting calls from this number having registered with the TPS at least 12 months ago.I am changing my number in August as this seems to be the only answer.If anyone does find out where this office is which is responsible for these calls then please post details on here, I'm sure they'll be a few offers from people on here to go round and say Hello :)

These are total & utter pests calling from an Indian call centre, they are far too idiotic to realise their government debt scheme (which they claim to be calling about) only applies to England & Wales NOT! SCOTLAND. I don’t understand why UK companies use foreign call centres when no one in their right mind would dare give them their personal details, it must be great to get paid for sitting on the phone all day pestering people, what a waste of money!

I dont know whi this is they call avery day. If I answer noone is there. IF I try to call back I cant get through

I had a call yesterday from this number 5,30 pm and now (1:17 pm) another one.

Same like in the other cases, silent call. Waits for me to say hello and then goes off.

Is it really something we can do?

I have followed an earlier thread and complained to ofcom using the following link if they have enough complaints they will look into it. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/landline/silent/?itemid=284912 i agree with everyone it is very frustrating as we seem powerless to do anything about it......!!!

this number calls me 3/4 times daily, hangs up without saying a word, tried to call back but number is not recognised. Very hard when one has to rest during the day....I work nights

i see im not the only one who has been called from this number but why is this happening these people are doing my head in now

have had 4 -5 calls a day everyday this week, someone actually answerd yesterday and said they were from survey company, i told them not to ring again. then today i have had another 3 calls but were back to the silence again.

Calls daily. Either silent or asks for the old tenant then signs off rudely. I followed the Ofcom link and complained.

These are driving me nuts wish i could get my hands on them GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Twice a day, every day. They say nothing and just hang up. Very annoying.

Today - 28.04.2010

Received this call - answered and the hung up tone was observed.
I have received no end of these call each day - over the past few weeks.

BT advised that these calls are from Call Centre' s but sometimes fail to connect me to an advisor, hence the dial tone.

My advise:
Like any other calls I have received like this, I become very abusive - I can tell you 'very personal indeed.
NONE of these have ever call back since!!!

When I am connected, I will do the same on this one.
ps, caller display is only shown to encourage you to pick up - but you can not dial this number.
