    I used to be on a prepaid account with optus, now i have a month by month contract. Every couple of weeks I recieve a call from this number a few times during the week. Glad I know now who it is. Will continue to let it ring out.

    I also screen calls by googling the number! Glad I did - will ignore. Am a long time optus customer but today is the first time I have had that number come up on my missed call list

    Both myself and my partner have been getting calls from this number several times a week for the past 2 or so months and only rings for a few rings. its very annoying. we are both post paid optus customers.

    have been called by this number many times in the last 2ish months called back... and left a message asking to be removed from the list .. so far no more calls.. they better not or ill get them on harrasment..
    now getting called from 0282094700 at 12:01 am 12 feb 09..this seems like a scam

    I just got one as well. Glad I found this site! Talk about breach of privacy. Am optus customer on monthly not prepaid. I never had this issue with telstra. Can't wait for this contract to end! Heading away from Optus.

    I just called the number back and got an answer machine. The company name is "oceana customer information services Australia", and the message said that they collect market information for optus and a range of other companies.
    Very annoying because they never ring long enough for you to answer the phone. I also have an optus prepaid account what are they up too.....?

    I got a call from this number also, only two seconds and hanged off before I could pick it up. When I saw the messages here, I recall that in China, there are some ones set up some kind of system that can absorb huge amount of fee from mobile phones. They use an automatic calling system call mobile phone numbers that get from some resources. Always their calls only last one second or so. When people call back thought they just have missed a call, their systems take big money from that mobile phone number. It is a totally rascal behavior. I'm not sure whether this is the same case, but it is better to be care for.

    I have been getting calls from this number every couple of days.. and have gotten them before only when I was on Telstra.. however the numbers all seem to end in 00

    I've been back with Optus since October (I was a long time customer before that) on a new number so I knew it wasnt Telstra still calling me..

    I actually answered it the other day, then got the big delay after saying "hello" so I figured it was a calling centre overseas and hungup. - so annoying.

    i just made the dumbest mistake, by accepting the offer i had received from them. I had been offered 19 dollar plan that include 50 dollars worth of calls and message(includes international calls etc.) all i have 2 do is pay 19 monthly fee n if i decide i wanna change back to my previous plan all i have 2 do is call optus number n they will change it 4 me. But that happened before i went online to check if anone had a call from this number.Now it appears to me i made stupid thing.  The odd about it is that there is no contract only monthly fee. 2morow i ll go n change back to my old plan. they will let me know in 5 days whether im eligible or not.

    yeah I got a call today and yesterday from the same number. Jerks don't let it ring for long enough so you miss it and ring them back.

    I too am an Optus pre-paid customer. I got this call but was unable to answer it at the time so I let it ring out. After googling the number and reading this, I have saved the number in my phone with an appropriate name so that if they call me I will know it's them and not mistake it for an unfamiliar number. I think I may have actually answered this call once and refused the offers but it was quite a while ago now. From memory it was a female telling me that because I had been a loyal Optus customer I was eligable for certain offers.I hope Optus are trying to find out who is doing this or they may start loosing customers.

    They have called me three times in seven days. I answered the first couple of times and abruptly told them I wasn't interested and let it ring out a third time today. I am also a prepaid optus customer.
