This number comes from someone calling you using a calling card.
I have people from Indonesia and Canada calling me, each card has a different number... usually I know which person is calling me because they use the same brand of card.
I was unsure this time because it kept cutting out and was a new calling card.
If you don't know anyone from overseas who may be calling you, just answer and eventually they will stop bothering you as it uses up their minutes. More than likely they have the wrong number.
My calls were at 6.10am, then 6.11am, then 6.12am this morning, likely to be someone in Indonesia as it's around 3am there and they're just leaving the clubs pissed!

Called twice, left a black 3 second message. When rang back there was a fax number??

this c**nt keeps calling me at 6pm.. i have not answered any of the call.. i'f from brisbane..has anyone got answers yet?

It's a call from someone overseas calling you through Skype.

This is a number that telstra mobile calls show up as, if they are making roaming calls from overseas.

eg: You have a telstra mobile, and are in USA - if you call from your telstra phone to someone in Australia, this number will appear.

If you are getting missed calls, or people unexpectedly its probably a line that has dropped out or a plain old missed number.

The 4/5am calls are also explained by the time difference in countries overseas.

This number seems to be the "portal" used by one or more international phone carriers to make phone calls in Australia. A friend from the USA (who uses Comcast) phoned my mobile, and this number came up as the caller ID.

I got the call too, and I am from Denmark. I'm just backpacking i Australia, and right now i Sydney..
I said to my littlebrother if he could call the number, and he found out that it is people from India and Zimbave there are trying too get information about you so there can get some money from you..

So DON'T answer the phone!!!

Received two calls from this number.  No message was left.  Been wrecking my brain trying to identify area of number and who it could have been.  I now know its some sort of con thanks to this site.

same as almost everybody... it were 8:30am in Sydney and I got this call... I didn´t take it (I thought the call was from my job) but I have an e-mail at the same time from a friend telling me he´s trying to call me from New York and he has no answer.

The I google it and... voilà: I´m not the only one. It should be a phone card.

Got the call, didn't recognise the number, picked up, heard plenty of crackling and a thick Indian accent. Paused to ponder it for a few moments, then hung up deciding it was telemarketing or something. They tried to call again, I ignored it. Nothing else so far.

Got a call from this number at 4am this morning...then a message was left on my voicemail but it was my mate in the UK giving me her rendition of 'This is Australia' for Aussie Day! Presume she was either using a calling card or via Skype....did confuse me though thats for sure!

I recieved 3 calls from 02-8209-4700 today.

I received a call from a telemarketer trying to sell me crap about 5 minutes ago.

Same number. Refused to tell me which call centre they worked for.

My son called me from the Middle East using VOIP

This is the number that was displayed.

It also explians why you cannot call it back and just get a tone.

Got this call yesterday, lady on the phone, said she was from Shanghai, very hard to understand what she was saying due to her accent and the fact that she sounded like she was an automated call - but it wasn't. She seemed to think i was a Managing Director and wanted to offer me some services (a typical sales type call i guess). Couldn't understand what she was saying, so i was forced to hang up. She rang me again straight afterwards but i pressed call end. She rang me on my mobile about 4:40pm. I live in Melbourne, Australia.

Some ghastly American man called me from this number at 7.15am and told me that I had won a trip to Tampa Florida!...then hung up.

I did not return the call because it seemed suspicious to me. He called back again and continued telling me the details of this "prize" I had won for about 10 mins. Then he put me through to their "travel coordinator" to arrange this holiday. At this point I was just waiting for her to ask me for my credit card details.

She did indeed ask for my credit card details and told me that this trip I had "won" was going to cost me $995! I told her that I do not give out my credit card details over the phone which she then responded to rather nastily "You don’t get to go on the trip then!".

I continued to try and explain to her that I would need something in writing and she promptly hung up in my ear.

This phone call actually left me shaking. I can't believe I allowed myself to stay on the line so long with these people. I will never be too polite to hang up on someone ever again. Sad.

I just received a call from this number today... I didn't answer and no one left a voicemail... No idea who it is...

i got called by it today at 4:50pm i called back and got fax tones twice then a message saying that it was an incorrect number?? im in sydney austraila
