i got a call a little while ago, when i called back it went to a fax.

Man there are some thick people on this forum.
Read Rick's comments, he is absolutely correct:-

THESE CALLS ARE NOT MARKETING or SPAMMING. IT IS A LINE ID USED BY AN INTERNATIONAL PHONE CARD SUPPLIER. Please look at the Kay's comments above about her husband calling from the US with a pre-paid calling card. I also receive overseas calls from this number from people I also know. If you are called it will be someone overseas. If you know them, fine, otherwise its just a wrong number, thats all.

PS: Forget calling back the number, you will be wasting your time and cash.

No wonder the country's in such a mess with morons like this contributing to society!!

I got a call from 02-8209 4700 on 21 Jan 09, at 23:23. thank god I wasn't sleeping yet! and thank you this site for letting me know it's just a scam call!

I have started getting calls from this number as well and like everyone else I call back and no one answers. Can someone find out who it is or how to stop getting these calls?????????

got call from this number atleast 10 times in a row, answered but no one replied back. annoying

My husband got a call from this number at 1am. It woke us up. We have tried ringing it back and we also get a Fax tone.

Ant you are actually quite rude and perhaps you should get some education in manners.

its long distance calling cards purchased overseas (to make calls from overseas to australia, im guessing) as a relative has been using it to call home. so if theres someone overseas trying to contact you, that could be them. usually you cannot call back people who use call cards.

This is not a scam; the calls are from overseas, either from call card, Skype or other VoIP service. I just spoke to my cousin and number displayed on my phone was 0282094700. this also explains weird hours with Australia being about 10hrs ahead of Europe and about 20hrs ahead of US.

I just looked this number up because my boyfriend called me from uae and it came up as this number even though he said he called from his mobile!

i just got a call from it this morning and an aussie chick asked for me using my name and when i said 'speaking' she hung up [***]!
totally freakin annoying! i better not get any more calls from her or anyone else!!!
