I Just got a call on my mobile from this number, I didn't recognise it so didn't answer it. When I called back, I got a fax tone. I'm in Adelaide. This has happenned a few times...very annoying.

I also got a call from this number. This time it was from a old client in India asking for records. A legitimate call from India. However, the reason that others have got the nuisance/annoying calls is that this is VOIP number and users often enter wrong numbers and repeat the wrong numbers OR the service provider does not have certified equipment and the numbers get wrongly called. Why people use this type of bad quality service is that Australian phones when called from US/UK/Europe registered VOIP phones, get charged very minimal charges. So Internet browsing centre operators use such VOIP softphones (software phone) installed on computers to call people in Australia. They charge the caller cheaper than local calling rates and pay a fraction of that to the VOIP service provider.

One should not try calling back this number as it would be on a "do not Disturb" mode or have an aswering machine which gives messages which tell that the phone does not exist. One would be losing money when one hears any voice from the other end. BAd enough  being disturbed in the first place.

I received a call at 11:51am on July 23rd 2007 and received another this morning at 1:45am from 02 82094700 - both times I missed the call and when I tried to call it back I got the fax ring tone...decided to google the number today and this forum is what I find...lets lay awake at night in ambush for these pricks!

I woke up to find a missed call from this number at 4:15am just this morning. Lucky my phone was on silent otherwise i wouldn't be a happy chappy lol. Maybe we should report this number to a telecommunications company or something if this has been happening alot..

I got a call from this number on my mobile, i was busy at the time and pressed reject, the number immediately called back another 2 times. Very bizzare

i just got a missed call frm this number but did receive many calls b4 i liv in melbourne n when i call bk it sound like its a fax anyway weird.

Same thing happened (fax tone).
But then my mother from overseas said she phoned. It must be a one-way only call.

I know when i recieve a call from this number it is from a calling card purchased overseas...eg..my wife calls me and this is the number that comes up...hope tht helps

I also received a phone call from this number and it was a relative from Overseas calling. i found it strange as well at first but i knew the person so i figured it has to be some sort of connection number between the countries.

it's a company called Truphone. I know this because my brother in the UK called me using his account and it came up as that number. It's not a scam. It's a bit like skype. If you have family or friends overseas ask them if they are using truphone, and it's most likely to be them who are calling you.

Had calls from this number. First was when a person in the UK called to my mobile. This person, I met through a dating site, and exchanged email, then chat on yahoo (first time i've done that). I was silly enough to give him my mobile number, and he rang and this is the number which came up. Next day, it (the number) called my number 3-4 times, between 12pm-4am. I suspect that this man is using a calling card, and it is routed through this number to Sydney, otherwise its something far more high tech than that. This person, I believe is definitely scamming, and his story and letters sound like another posted on the web. this man is 44yrs (Stephen Johnso) with a 5yo, son named Dylan. and is 'supposedly' returning to Australia which is supposedly his home base. i have got about atleast 3 to 4 missed calls from this number.
No body responds to when i return this call. Just probably goes to a fax number.

yes, me too. i got a call from this number for 3 times, i have 2 number which were called from 0282094700. who knows it, plz tell me!!!
