This call came in at 12.29 am

It was supposed to be from a Nigerian friend.  I think it is a scammer and Ive just discovered it.

Just got a call from this number and it was a friend calling me from overseas on his mobile.  Must be something to do with calling internationally from your mobile I guess.

We have been getting calls on anumber of occasions but too scared to call it back, incase there is a catch.

It appears that this number is a Vodaphone redirect number for wireless connections.  Here's what I think is going on, someone makes a call to Sydney from the USA, the Wireless Network in California connects to a Vodaphone server in Australia and then attemps to complete the call, the problem I found was the time delay.  The person on the other end thinks you're not answering your phone and hangs up before the connection is complete.  You receive the ring and answer the phone just after the other party has hung up.  Using the call back on your phone will only connect you to the Vodaphone server and that explains the modem screech you hear when you connect.  We found this out when my wife and I tried to call each other, using our USA numbers, if you're doing the calling from outside the country, you have to wait until you hear an Aussie ringtone, or you'll end up ending the call before it's started.  Hope this helps.

got a missed call from this number at 2.00am ...I live in Perth.  Ive had the same miss call number several times.  I phoned back and get a faxed tone.  Ive reported it to Telstra who told me it is an international scam, they suspect Africans hacking into international calling cards.  Do not ring this number back.

I received 10 miss calls from this number between 1-2am and 5-7pm.weird.

hmm...i wonder who it was. maybe a secret admirer called me for valentines day from overseas...dammit i missed them!:-D

Just received a call from this number- shortly after a friend called me from the UK. If I ever see that number calling me again I won't answer it

I know my friend in the UK uses Skype. Although she reached me with her mobile she couldn't connect to my Canberra mobile using Skype.  I think it's not a scam but has something to do with landlines overseas using Skype to call mobiles overseas.  I don't think you can call mobiles using Skype?

It's most likly a communications sattelite fowarding calls from an international location, such as cruise ships. This is why you can't call it back, it uses the number temporarily, if it's in use when you call it back you hear the signal noises

ME TOO!! Every morning between 5 and 8 AM!! And even if I answer the first time they/it just keeps ringing me again every half hour or so! Its only during the early morning hours and VERY IRRITATING!!  I use my mobile as an alarm clock so it's not like I can just set my profile to slient! Does anyone have any ideas how to put a STOP to it? I live near Toowoomba in QLD.

i have been recieving calls for the last 3 days during the early morning, tried calling, then gettn a fax...dont know whether this can be barred on da phone or someone can deal with it, as it is happening to many people. something needs to be done!!...by the way i got a private number calling the following times it rang at night...any1 experiencing the same?

I got a call from this number where a male voice (indian sounding) asked if it was me by name. I told him he had the wrong number. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm pretty sure my details were given to this man by an internet scammer who claims to live in africa. It could be a coincidence, but I did deal with this scammer earlier in the day and he did end up with my phone number and address.

I'm from Sydney, got a call today at 6:28pm, thought it was a local call, tried calling that number 82094700 voice prompt said the number is disconnected. Called again with 02, heard a fax signal, still don't know you the caller is.

Just had a missed call from this number, i googled it aswell and it led me here... very strange!

Recieved a call last night too between1 and 2 am... fuckn woke me up grrrr

Yeah, I'm getting it to, 3 or 4 times a day and it is really p*****g me off!!  Any ideas how to stop it??

I got a call from this number... it was really weird, coz my boyfriend called me when he was in vietnam. when i answered it, it was him, and it displayed 0282094700 when he called. he was calling from his mobile but 0282094700 wasn't his number, thats not even a mobile number. it cut out and i called him back on his mobile and he answered.. it was really weird that 0282094700 came up when he was calling.

Have received calls at 5am -515am and 6 am everymorning for tha last week
called telstra who tell me the number is listed to a "legitimate" business and there is nothing I can do about it! Some help! I hve put on do not call list but hat takes at least a month to activate. As if Low lifes like this will conform to that register. I would just love to find the intigator of this one

I got the call at 7:30pm and heard fax tone whe I call back.What is this?
