ive had several calls from this number, just add it to your reject list in your phone.....easy. Go to the missed call; then options; then add to reject list;select and save. Hope it works, I will wait and see if its blocked now.

I had a call from this number last night at 3.35am which I did not answer. Today I found out it was my girlfriend calling me from a payphone in Italy. A lot of other people have mentioned that they received a call from overseas reportedly from this number.

It seems that this number comes up incorrectly when receiving certain calls from overseas! There should be no reason to block this number unless the calls you are receiving from overseas are unwanted. For anyone who wants to receive all overseas calls then I do not recommend blocking it at all.

Let my mobile ring out because I didn't recognize the number.

Rang back for work phone and the message said "that your call cannot be connected.. please check number before trying again".

ye getting a prank call from this number at all times of the day and night. when i call it back i hear fax tone!!!

a lot of you seem to have had multiple calls from this number.
i have had no such calls, but today i had three from three different numbers.

I had a miss call from 02-8209-4700 (29-03-2009 @20:54pm). I tried calling back but, it says the 'number you're dialing is disconnected'. I would like to know/find out who this person is or from where did the call originate.

got called in Perth at 10.30pm last night and today again at 10.30pm and 10.38pm. Seems like an organised and planned call, likely to be scam or marketing company- very dodgy. I tried calling back but couldnt get through. After coming to this site,I definitely wont be trying again. Anyone knows how to block this number from coming in?

called overseas and found out that the call was from my mum. She signed up with a phone card company which uses the same generic 0282094700 number. Looks like you can't tell who it is until you pick up

Had a call from this number, hung up as I thought it was marketing. Immediately calls my mobile back - "why did you hang up on me?", so I hung up again. Called back again straight away, I answer to a torrent of abuse for hanging up on him -called me an f'ing [***] and hung up on me. This number may have legitimate purposes but is also definitely used for international marketing and scammers - be warned!!

Calls from this number are not necessarily a scam. To my knowledge it is just a number that incorrectly appears sometimes when receiving a call from overseas. The call may or may not be telemarketers, but the point is that the number does not tell you who is calling at all, just that it's an overseas call. If you don't answer it you could be missing out on a legitimate call.

I also was getting a number of calls between 6 and 7 am in Melbourne from this number.  I eventually answered one of these calls and it was from a company in the USA.  They said I had filled in a Web form about a free cruise to Florida and the Bahamas and that I was 'eligible'.  There are a number of articles on the Web about this scam

I got a call from this number, when I answered it was from my mate's work phone in Vietnam.  So I assume when he calls it must go through a telephone exchange from there to Melbourne. I can tell you he is not a serial pest that calls the same numbers every day, hence why I think it could be a generic telephone exchange number. I hope this helps you.

The Company calling is called World Systems Marketing. It's like an online pyramid selling scheme.
If you've ever entered your mobile number online, that's where they've picked it up from.

Telephone exchanges don't have a number, they manage numbers. If anything, the number a telephone exchange has it the number you call when you wanna speak with someone who works there.

I find it impossible to believe this number is both a calling card and a global marketing scam's group number, and someone's mate from Vietnam. More investigation is required. Has anyone spoken with their providers about this? They have a responsibility (despite what they might tell you about privacy reasons) to investigate.

Btw I found this page by googling the number in question, as I just had a missed call from it too. But the phone barely rang as it was right next to me in a quiet room, and i heard nothing. Nothink!

I received a call from this number today. Live in Queensland. They phoned and asked for my husband by name - yet it is my phone. When I said that I was his wife and that they should let me know what they are phoning about, they hung up on me. When I dialled back it said that the number was wrong and to check that I had the right number. Thought I would google the number and was surprised to find that there are a lot of others who have received calls from this number. What bugs me is that they are asking for my husband by name and I have no idea who they are. Said that they have a business proposal to put to him. Really bugs the hell out of me when you can't get an answer from the phone number.

same problem, i don't know if this is coincidence but every time when im expecting a call from fu*** Indian from Digiplus a receive a miss call from this number..

I just got a call from this number from my boyfriend - he's in the Netherlands, I'm in Sydney. His work phone normally comes up private but today it came up this number for some reason - he said other people have sometimes said that number comes up too. I've checked my phone account - spoke for 20mins and I was not charged for receiving this call!

As many people have said in this forum (yet many people have ignored) - it just seems to be a number that comes up sometimes from international callers.

Whether it be friends, family, marketing companies, scammers, whoever - the consistent thing is that its an international call. If you want to know who specifically is calling you (because its not just one evil guy in India) - just answer your phone.

Calls received from this number are generally calls from overseas, that are routed to your phone through a Australia network based in Sydney thus this local number is displayed.
