pretty sure this is a skype out thing. if someone, anywhere in the world, has your number and calls you with skype out, then it shows up as this number.  something to so with the server gateway perhaps.  that's why its an indian telemarketer for some, and relatives for others. just a thought, but makes sense, no?

I got a call from this number 8pm last night. I pressed the stop key as I didn't recognise the number. In a few seconds it rang again and this time the number was not displayed. I don't get many calls to my mobile, especially in the evening, so I assume it was the same person ringing twice. Someone from overseas, ringing with a calling card, then trying their own phone line, thinking there was something wrong with the card when the call was disconnected? My first thought was that it was the Yellow Pages or some other telemarketer. Now, after reading some of the comments, I will listen next time.

The guy with American accent, said he was from Walt Disney World Resorts, rang me Wednesday at 5pm. Claimed that I had won some trip worth $5500,for 2, to Disneyland, Las Vegas, Bahamas have 18 months to take it. I said how come a Sydney numer, he says they have a deal with Quest? After another 5 mins transferred me to a "Travel Coordinator", I eventually hung up as I said send me something in writing, no bank or credit details from a phone call. I am sure it is a credit card scam

This number 02 8209 4700 just came up on my mobile, it was my sister calling from the uk, I live in Sydney. Usually her name comes up but this time it was just that number, pretty strange.

it is a international calling card number it is someone trying to call from overseas, as my partner is in afghanistan he gets a calling card and it comes up with that number all the time.

the number 02 8209 4700 showed up on the caller id - but i wasnt there to pick up the call. minutes later i got a call from an 'unknown number' from a friend who just arrived in the UK (to Brisbane) using a call-card 'sim'. she mentioned that she tried previously (the first call)... and couldnt reach me - but i had told her that it only rung a short time before aborting.

so i can vouch for legitimate callers from overseas (if you know someone abroad) - but i guess its just unfortunate telemarketers use the same avenue to make their own calls.

THIS NUMBER IS A STANDARD NUMBER INDICATING SOMEONE IS CALLING FROM OVERSEAS USING CALLING CARD TO EITHER MOBILE OR FIXED LINE !!

guys this number comes up generally when people are calling from skype...when my g/f was o/s this number always showed...hope this helps.

get a call from this number at 10am sharp every second morning for the last month or so i answer it and it hangs up driving me insane dont know anyone from overseas is there anything i can do to block the caller

What is this number?  I received a call from this number and about 5 minutes later, I got a call about an unpaid loan I had from my time in London.. It was at 2:30am so i'm not happy at all.  Has anyone discovered what is going on?

I just got a call from this number at 3:15pm EST today 23/09/09 and i called it back to no avail ... I live in sydney and Im with Telstra !!! So i dont think its another route for a international call .... arrghh
