this 0201 number calls me every single night and wont give up is there any way to stop this as when I ask who it is they wont answer!!!

should have type 0301 sorry - yes it is those debt people!!!.  I think I'm going to get abusive to get rid of them as it appears to be the only way.  Just settle down after a long day's work and some incosiderate pile of **** decides to phone and if you say you will get the person they want after 10 seconds they put the phone down.  It is time our watery government did something about this surely we are entitled to some peace and quiet.

i keep being harrassed by this indian speaking guy and he will not take my number off the data base he is trying to clear my debts from a supposed government run system every day he rings its driving me mad.

1:00 pm every day they ring, I Answered it And They Asked "Are You in Debt" I Screamed down the phone "No! I'm Rich Bit**!" (No i am not really rich!) And Slammed the phone down, They called me back, Threatining to rob my house! HAHA, I dont think so!

We have received several silent calls from 0301 presumably from an automatic dialler. When someone actually spoke to me they claimed to be from the Debt Advice Bureau and talked about a "government scheme to clear debts". When I asked for their address they hung up immediately. My wife answered one call and they asked to speak to someone who does not live here. Perhaps we should ask them where we can send invoices for all our wasted time!

It gives an address you can write to and a registered company number, so this may be legit.

As we have pointed out before, the phone spammers are callers using various names: https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/0301/2

Names reported as being claimed by the callers include: Credit Council Bureau; Debt Management Bureau; Debt Advisory Bureau; Debt Advisory Board; Debt Advice Agency; Debts Direct; Money Manager; Money Management; The Debt Managers, and; Debt Advice Bureau.

They may start with a 'this is a survey' spiel or the 'let you know about a Government scheme' patter, either way don't tell them anything. Don't confirm anything. Though that applies to any cold calls you receive.

As previously pointed out, the most common way to get them to hang up is to ask to speak to the supervisor.

I have had probably 150+ calls on 0301 over the last year. Very mad! Have asked several times to be removed from their list. I have hung up and i have ignored too. Makes no difference. Changed my number only to find i'm now getting calls from somewhere else. So i changed again and guess what??? Yes different calls again. Now changed again and lo and behold.... you guessed it. someone else now. Just registered with TPS. Fingers crossed

i've got a call from 0301 a few minutes ago. and i've tried to check on the internet where this number come from.. most of the information showed the UK country. so in my prediction, the guy is living in UK and he is indian/pakistani. or maybe, if somebody use the online phone.. so the only number that belong to online phone is 0301..

Re Debt Advisory Bureau - posting on 30 September 2009.

This posting, from Stephen Rose, claims that his company (Debt Advisory Bureau) is NOT the Debt Advisory Bureau that keeps ringing you up with nuisance calls.

He suggests that, to help clear his company's name and rid everyone of the nuisance calls, you send him details of the calls made to you - oh, and on the same form a load of your personal details as well!

That's exactly what the (bogus?) Debt Advisory Bureau would like to receive, isn't it? - so that they can pester us by email and postal mail as well! - and, from the information given, will be able to log those details against the telephone numbers they rang because they ask you for the times of the calls you received! They just check the postcode against the telephone STD area code. Were they calling the number and asking for the wrong name? - they'll have the right name now!

Come on, Mr Rose, not everyone is as gullible as you think.

received another call from "Debt Advice Bureau" today, so this time I made up some debt and was finally put through to Churchwood Finance in Stockport. Churchwood claim the call centre is Capital India HK, but they can't (won't?) help remove my number from the call centre database.

LionTel call themselves various names including Debt Advice Bureau, Crystal Debt Advice and the latest one is Galaxy Debt advice. They use various phone numbers, the latest one to call me is 0844 8466524, previously it has been 0161 2412080, 0844 8466519 has also been used.

I gave the Indian Call centre false details (apart from my real phone number) a few months ago in an attempt to get put through the UK company and be able to trace it back. I was called directly a few days ago by Capital Finance in Leicester who used this false information. When pushed they told me they have an Indian call centre. I'd previously been assured by Capital that I'd been removed from their database, and they denied any knowledge of the cold calls from India.

Having been plagued by telephone calls from Debt Advice Bureau / Crystal Debt and, more recently, Galaxy Debt Advice for about 4 years, they seem to have given up on me. The last call was about three weeks ago - that's a long time for them, they usually call at least three times a week, sometimes every day.

I changed my response to them last Autumn - I let the phone ring, pick it up and say "Hello." They always say "May I speak to Mr or Mrs ......?" and I say "Who's calling?" This seems to throw them for a second or so and then they reply with "My name is ....... and I'm calling from Galaxy / Crystal / Debt Advisory." I then put the phone down, so the only words I say to them is "Who's calling?" and never confirm my name.

I started this when they were using Crystal as their name and noticed that the frequency of calls started to reduce. There was a two-week gap, earlier this year, and then I got a call from Galaxy, which I treated in the same way. Since then, there has been nothing.

Either they have stopped phoning me because they can no longer engage me in conversation or they have decided that I am too tough a nut to crack. Either way is fine by me.

I expect, after writing this, I'll get a call within the hour !

just had a call at my personal cell. this number 0301 i live in the India, i picked the phone up and some bloke was saying something but the line was all distorted and put the phone down. why do people wast our time

Hi, I think i might have the same experience as you . As i was playing my computer , there was this call from 0301 . I was thinking there was no such number but then as i spoke to the person . He said my full name except my surname was wrong . And he had a british accent but a style of indian voice .. As we were talking .. He said i won US1000(I'm from Malaysia) He asked for my email address so that he could send the money over .. I'm actually 12 years old , So i got scared .

just received a call from 0301. A lady voice and she is talking to me in Chinese( which I don't really understand at all)
I ask her to speak in English then she hang up and can't call it back.
