I just had the call. so I looked online to see if anyone else had spoken to 90015836.
I had a male Indian asking for me, I asked who he was and he told me his name was Max and he was from a police department. I asked why he was calling but he wouldn't tell me why. I put my son on the phone and that's when Max hung up.
I tried calling the number but no reply.

i thought it was the real deal gave them personal info,wont stop ringing,told them today to [***] off stop ring me,they just rang back and told me they want to piss in my face.ill find them

Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman - 1800 062 058 - free for land lines
tell them the number. they told me what they can do and its been goign on for months
they then told me to contact my service provider. ( make sure you get a ref number from the ombudsman)

call your sevice provider tell them they are harassing you. that you have called the ombudsman and that they informed you to get the number blocked. service provider will block it.

NOTE - call register doesnt work, they get past it.

Last two weeks I have been receiving calls from 0390015836 each day.  Each time it is a William who requests to speak to a Mrs (Firstname) (Surname)   I have not been know by Mrs.  for about 15 years and each time I ask what it is relation to they say "I need to speak to Mrs........ about their Telstra account on this number" then "regarding my Telstra account on this number".  Person is very forceful and rude as well.  A couple of times I have said that this is a private number (which it is) and they hang up.  Today I said to William that he rang me last week each day and each time I have told him that it is a silent number and that he is not to bother me again or I will take further action."  I did get the information that they are in East Melbourne(?) or South Melbourne(?) in Victoria.  My number was originally with Telstra about 18 years ago and I made it silent as well for legal reasons.  Where do they get off doing this sort of thing.

How do I find out why owns this number ?
I would like to do a " Class action " against these people
I received 5 calls in 2 days --- who the f%^^&* are YOU ?

Omg this number has called my house twice ttoday and 3 times in the past half hour! soooo annoying!

Sam Watson rang,said he worked for a branch of Telstra.he said he had 5 good discounts.But then he asked for my date of birth!!! I said I wanted his phone nunber so I could ring him back and he then hung up..very dodgy.

Luckily I have caller ID and can see when they ring so I just ignore them. They call several times a day, most days, so very annoying! I think my Dad pissed them off once, so I assume they call quite frequently just to be a nuisence!

She rang (of Indian persuasion) didn't catch her name. Had a wonderful holiday package for me.

Why would I know them?
Well they called from the same number but William and Sarah sell insurance and telephone maintenance and Peter Taylor (from Spiral Communications in Melbourne) had the super Telstra deal same as above.
He gave me a customer service number 1300 559 069 which comes up as Andy's Oils Recycling in Taren Point, NSW. Since finding my number is unlisted, the caller ID has reverted to 'Private'.
Told her that the Australian Police know all about it and Telstra and Optus know all about it and your numbers are all over the Internet.
She hung up.
Try Optus-callbot on google. There are hundreds of numbers.
Rang Telstra. They are trying to track them down but these are fictitious numbers via the Internet.
Told him I didn't understand why they couldn't.
First post I've seen for this particular number was April 2010.
Go figure! to use the American expression.
Ah! the Internet is a wonderful thing. Tell everyone to get caller ID. Might save a little frustration.

This is exactly what I'm getting, it's driving me nuts.
Out of interest, do you have a VOIP phone? We do, and I'm wondering if it's messing up the transfer. Their system sounds like VOIP, perhaps even asterisk, but that 'Goodbye' should never be heard, so it's a weird bug their computer guy didn't think of.
If you find them, give them a kick up the [***] for me will you?

Type in just the number 0390015836 on Google. Lower down the page you'll see Optus - MyCallBot and TELECOM - MyCallBot.  This number is the first number quoted under the TELECOM header.

Then you'll get the list of fictitious numbers.

Slowly, slowly, the net will close.

Yay! seems they've stopped with this number, but beware - they will regroup and start again. This is a huge international scam and my research has shown it in USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia (so far) and who knows wherever else and seems to have been going on for at least 5 years.
There must be somebody out there who can track them down. Bill Gates? or the Internet inventor guy?
The autodial machine rang my phone 3 times today - 5 minutes apart  - 1 ring, cut out, no record of a call.
Obviously they've told the machine not to ring my number - it ain't got the message yet, not quite.
There is a major, major list of fictitious numbers on the site just called callbot, worldwide.
Don't answer, don't ring back, don't give them ANY information at all, don't agree that that's your name even.

They haven't stopped, there was an unanswered call from them on my called ID today!!!!!!

Got a call from "Telstra" - Indians calling via a really crappy VoIP line. Tried to scam me into one of those verbal phone agreements and switch my line away from Telstra!

I pressed him harder and he said he was Justin Parker from Spiral Communications. Couldn't give me a number to call back on, but finally gave me 1300 559 069 as a number.

He also then lied when I hit him up about saying he was from Telstra. This is a brutal scam and I'm sure the elderly will fall from it, it's a numbers game.

NEVER do business with Spiral Communications. Absolute scum.

Wow, almost got sucked in to this.  Got a call from a "Ricky Anderson", says he was calling from South Melbourne (Indian accent) trying to tell me that I was going to receive big discounts on my home phone, I had no reason to believe that they were not Telstra.  After getting my full name and date of birth, he told me that I was eligible for these discounts since I run a business (I used to many years ago, he even presented me with an ABN) The ABN was never mine, but scarily enough, I looked the ABN up and it is registered to a DMC Corporation, DMC are my initials.  Ricky put me on to his supervisor "Sam Watson" who then told me he was transferring me to their head office in Fyshwick ACT.  During the conversation with Sam, I realised he was not from Telstra, he was allegedly from a company called "Spiral Communications Australia".  I then told him to disregard everything we had talked about, and expressed my displeasure with what he was doing.  Don't know what they are up to, but I don't like it.

I rang Telstra's unwanted caller hotline 1800 805 996 and they blocked the number.

Also reregistered with the Do Not Call register.

They said that the call goes out to many numbers at once and only one connects to the operator at the Telemarketer.

I had been harrassed by an Indian sounding man/woman saying that they had special deals for me and that they are from telstra. I am not with telstra. They said it didnt matter becasue all the services are through telstra (yeah right). After months of hanging up on them and decided to find out who they were. They had my name and address (I have a silent number) and wanted my date of birth so I gave them a false one. They said 'yes that checks out", then they asked for my Medicare number so I gave them a false one. They said "Yes that checks out" (Liars). then they said they were from SPIRAL COMMUNICATIONS. I gathered as much info from them. They say they are based in Melbourne. They sent me a letter inviting me to send in my credit card details. I contacted Consumer Protection with their ABN (on their letter) ...They are a 'legit' organisation....but I DO NOT like them or their approach. On the day I spoke to them they rang 10 TIMES each time I hung up on them until finally I decided to get some info of them.
I Suggest we all report to the Telecommunications Ombudsman about SPIRAL COMMUNICATIONS - they are DODGY!

Just received a call from Elton Mayo who said he was calling on behalf of telstra, apparently calling from South Melbourne, Victoria.  He was offering me a fixed home line rental and call deal of $54.95 a month.  Said it was because I always paid my bill on time and because I'm a business owner.  He had all my details, my name, my ABN, and said he just needed to confirm my Date of Birth, which I stupidly gave him.  When I asked what company he was from, the line went dead, so I immediately placed a call to Telstra, who said that any sort of offers would show up in their system, and no such offer was being made to me.  

The guy had a gaul to call back, and told me he was from Spiral communications, a company affiliated with Telstra.  As he was on his speel I was googling the business name and came across this forum and told him I was not interested and hung up.

These people are dodgy and do not have any affiliation with Telstra.  Do not trust them, and do not agree to any offers.
