- Ali| 10 repliesGood news guys ... we've managed to track her IP address + have her home address available. Once we've verified it, we will make it available to everyone who has complained.
I put in a 'dummy purchase' + she bit (again - I found it with an IP tracker - gumtree ad for a guitar) ... HE (not 'she') is small-fry. Here's the email thread, or part of it - her part:

You'll need cash to buy the voucher. Here www.paypoint.co.uk you can find the nearest shop and ask for the ukash voucher. Scan it or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone of the ukash voucher and reply with it to the email from parcelforce. Hope this helps.
Teresa.
Booked it for Tuesday am, 9-10am. Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and Parcel Force will handle payment as well, you'll need cash. You should receive email notifications on how to proceed. Get back to me if you don't receive them and if you have any queries, glad to help.
Teresa.
P.S. If not in your inbox check your junk or spam folder also.
Hi Ali, yes is tuesday morning alright ?
Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge :) company benefits :) .
I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.
If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around :)
Let me know either way.
Teresa.

Hi Ali,
Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off :) .
If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours.
Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower.
Can be reached on (0)7973 425052 low signal strength area :( but check emails regularly.
Ta,
Teresa.
P.S. Will take cash only.- Caller: Scammer (Gumtree)
- ATH STHi thanks for internet just saved myself £220.
Exactly the same as described Teresa75Sutton gumtree.
Stay clear.
Even same emails word for word......
Evil thieving con artist. - SHEELAHi I nearly fell for scam by Sarah Harlow, very believable email correspondences - BUT I thought it odd that Parcelforce would collect cash on delivery [so I checked their website where this service was not on offer], and I thought it odd that the pictures on 'Sarah's' google profile were all uploaded the previous evening.... I played along for a while then told her that the nearest paypoint was too far away. What I don't understand is why Gumtree dont put - ON THE HOME PAGE - warnings about 'cash on delivery offers, or requests to pay by UKCash?

- Gordon replies to AliHi ...Almost got done for £220 myself...Has anyone told the police or Gumtree.. He should go jail...
- Chris replies to Ali| 6 repliesUrgh, rubbish! I got done too - 'only' £50, so I suppose I'm fairly lucky! Teresa was the pseudonym he was using. When you confirm the person/address any information would be appreciated! Really annoyed with myself, I should know better!
How did you manage to use the IP tracker, I got the impression they were routing it through a proxy.
Cheers
Chris - Ali replies to Chris| 5 repliesHi mate,
We've been seeing him do this for a few months + played along to see which proxy he was using - turns out he doesn't do his homework.
We have a couple of names and a street address, however we've submitted to police (they will do a full investigation, not that it has crossed into identity theft territories). VERY tempted to give out address, but probs better leave it to police to make 100% sure.
He is doubtless reading these forums ... simply hasn't doen his research. Scams like this have a very short half-life (I make my living investigating these) and the prosecution rate is nearing 70%.
Gumtree have also been reported to trading standards.
All the best (and sorry that you fell for it). Don't worry - what goes around comes around - in this case, sooner rather than later. - RC replies to NVBOpps so glad i have just checked this lady out, she is going by the name of Amanda Wilder... selling a beko fridge freezer, and have just today received an e-mail with exactly the same details as given by other people... Thank you for making me aware, this was on gumtreet.

- holly replies to Ali| 2 repliesHi Ali, I too got parted from my money!!! from Teresa Sutton and have reported it to everyone possible, i googled the telephone number and this has been going on since 2003!! exact same format and was an amanda at that time!
I have read your comment, and although you say leave the investigations to the police, which would seem the plausable thing to do, but you know as well as i do, that they won't investigate further!! therefore the return of any money to us victims will not be seen again!!
so unbelievable that there are such heartlessm mindless fools out there!
lets hope this person gets whats coming to them! - musician replies to Hercule Poirotthought ill post this here too, a gumtree ad for fender guitar, googled it cos was asked to pay by ukash.. thanks

then also an email for Parcel Force Worldwide, asking to send a scan or a photo of ukash receipt...
after a little google search and finding this straight away somehow dont think so...thanks!!! - Whistlejacket| 1 replyThankfully thankfully just dodged a scam to the tune of £500 for a tent thanks to this forum!
Thank you thank you - had exactly the same situation and emails word-for-word as below.
The contact was through GumTree and called Amanda Wilder - she even included links to photos of her (presumably not actually her) on one of the mails and I was completely drawn in.
A horrible feeling and just feel relieved that we didn't go through with the payment.
What a horrible person / people to do this.
xxxxxxxxxxx - Nearly.... replies to WhistlejacketI just replied to this add:
http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/honda-generator-eu20i-accessories/107137686
Its for a Honda Generator EU20i + Accessories for £390
Then got a text message from 'Amanda' asking me to email her on amanda75wilder@gmail.com
Googled her/his email address and found this forum! Thanks guys, now looking forward to the emails... lol - ScotPam replies to AliI just got stung with the same thing trying to but a golf buggy as I am disabled and will be having a knee op soon.
They took me for £210! I wish I'd seen these posts first but it was so plausible.
I've been on to the police and ukash and they are aiming to get the IP address but if you have it I'm sure I and a lot of other folks could use it. - Ali replies to holly| 1 replyI agree ... it is of-course tempting to release his IP address to members of the general public, however I'm loathe to be the one to open the door to vigilantism (again, however tempting it would be to partake in it). A full complaint + details submission to the police is a good start ... we'll see where it goes from there. The more we are digging up, the more it seems that this is a syndicate and not a lone [***] at work. Either way - they are onto the main PC user, so it is a start.
Gumtree are also liable here, as they have a history of ignoring complaints such as this one. - Holly replies to AliI know that it's a hard Decision to be the one releasing such information. But I found their ip address and it said their address is in moffet airfield in America, which obviously isn't their actual address, as I think this is a generic google ip address!!
As far as you know do you reckon the police are close enough to closing any gaps?
Also I very much doubt gumtree would be willing to refund all of the victims, or admit liability, even if they're responsible to do so! The first thing they should do is recognise the emails and not allow them to post onto the site!
It's seems as though this person is getting stronger! And not likely to be stopped in their tracks! - Compton| 1 replyYeah my interest in a Yamaha HX organ got the better of me for 120.00, however I have parted with money loads of times under trust and never had a problem. This was reported to Gumtree. It would seem however this is a known scam in place on this public selling place, with a problem they are aware of. Therefore they should be liable to refunding folk if they repeatedly allow the ads to be posted from this person?
Bit of a lottery...some you win..some you dont!
Well done Amanda Wilder.... a disgusting effort..keep it up! - olgaIve just lost 90£ which i paid for AMANDA WILDER FOR treadmill from gumtree:((shame that i doesnt found this website earlier:((
- denny| 1 replyHi ali
