    Hi,
I have been scammed out of £260 for a guitar from this 'Amanda Wilder'. The e-mails have all been exactly the same as what is posted here too. I contacted the police and had a good in-depth chat with them, statement etc
They say that the address is based in the US. But if anyone knows any different, let me know, I'd love to pay them a 'visit'.

Yep, me too! Down £150, Epiphone acoustic guitar via Gumtree, I thought it was too good to be true but sometimes you still want to believe there are genuine sellers out there! Please forward any information to help with the others who have been scammed too.

amanda75wilder@gmail.com was the email i replied to.

If anyone has any success with refunds etc keep us posted, thanks.

Exact same happened to me today. Feel violated, not on the value s/he took, but the fact I was done. The buggy was for sale and I bought it for my brother and sister in law who are due twins and thought I would help out by buying there pram for them....but was well and truly taken in by the genuine looking emails.  Not sure how we can combat such a lowlife ( probably very un-loved as a child).... Maybe if we posted on twitter/Facebook we could go viral with the email/scam to help others???

Same thing happened to me yesterday waiting for a sofa to be delivered! All the emails are the same as what I have read on this forum wish I had investigated it more myself and noe feel very stupid that i didn't recognise the signs! But on the first email this "Amanda Wilder" sent to me it had a profile page for "her" on google and all looked legit!

I have reported it to the police and trying to report it to Gumtree was a task and a half! Couldn't call the 0905 number from my mobile the business line wasn't interested so i had to complete a form which didn't even look like it had sent because I recieved no confirmation!

How has this been going on for so long is so bizarre when innocent people are being scammed and losing money!

The sofa I was getting is still advertised on there and it is Ad number 106546833, a beige 3 corner sofa for £170

If anyone can shed anymore light on this so I cna provide further details to the police can you please let me know!!

Hi Guys, We've been caught out too - £100 for a corner fishtank.  I found this info out afterwards.  Have reported it to Gumtree, who gave the impression that they couldn't give a toss!!!  We have continued to search for a fish tank and have just found a 'coffee table fish tank' on ebay.  The signs are all there, but this time the name is Alison Marie Reynolds.
When are the authories going to sort this scumbag out??

Over the past few weeks I have seen many complaints of this scam under various 'phone numbers but with what seem to be the same people running it. I may be stupid but  I cannot understand how Gumtree can dismiss these complaints and do nothing to stop this. Having heard about the power of Facebook, I wonder if a concerted effort on there by all the people who have been scammed, would affect Gumtree's business nd make them take notice.  Just s thought.

Ditto as all these Stacey Stone
£60 lost as totally unfamiliar with Ukash and made the awful mistake of trusting a long string of friendly emails back and forth...
Since the discussion was over the purchase of a sofa-bed so my disabled wife could spend time downstairs with our young son, I cannot fathom how this person can still go and cash their Ukash and still sleep at night.

This person/s has a new identity Pamela Hogan pamela75hogan@gmail.com (0797)--342--5052

My husband saw for sale on Gumtree a makita mixed set. We recieved several emails below, when he saw he had to pay through UKASH alarm bells started ringing. She got a very nasty email back!! lol

    Same stories as used above

    Emails recieved

    Hi ,
Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off :)

If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours.

Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower.
Can be reached on (0797)--342--5052 low signal strength area :( but check emails regularly.
    Ta,
    Pam.
P.S. Will let you know before heading out, cash only please.

Of course, nothing goes according to plan :( Unfortunately I've just got called into the office so very busy till next week, hectic lifestyle. However, back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge hihi company benefits :) .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Second option - if you want to pop in and collect you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around.
Let me know either way. No need to worry If my reply is delayed since I'm just having fun working long hours ... or not :))
    Pam.

Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and scheduled the delivery for Monday am, 9-10am ( at your end). Parcel Force will also handle the payment. If you'll accept and sign for the parcel the driver will then leave you a receipt and bac's me afterwards. They sent out an email notification on how to proceed. Did you received it ? Check your spam or junk folder as well, maybe it got caught in there.

Let me know if you have any queries, I'll be glad to help out!
    Pam

I just saw a Variax JTV59 guitar advertised on Gumtree for a "too good to be true" price.
Fired off a message asking if it was still for sale and got a reply back saying it was but alarm bells started ringing because the price was too cheap and she (?) texted me without leaving a mobile number.
It just showed up on my phone as pamela.s.ip
In her text she wanted me to reply to pamela75hogan@gmail.com so I did a quick search and ended up here.

FYI - Just tried adding the pamela.s.ip as a contact and it revealed the number 726352747
