This is the exact same email I received from a lady named Pamela Hogan when I saw a stokke pram on gumtree for £150. She gave me 2 options of getting the pram and i chose for it to be delivered and later received a false parcelforce notification asking me to make payment via paypoint and sending the receipt before the pram can be released for delivery.

I ofcourse suspected this and called parcelforce who stated that they will never ask for such method of payment and will only either take online payment or over the phone payment.

This person is a scammer and its a shame others are falling into their trap.

PLS, PLS, DO NOT send your money to lazy people like this who has nothing better to do with their life than to rip people off their hard earned money.

Always confirm with the suppose parcel delivery company before making payment and only use the number on their official website. Never make payment before delivery including paying via paypoint (this is not safe).

I later found out that the parcelforce email was actually from a mail.com email which allows you to set up email address under different industry/trade such as @ post, @accountant, @London and hence the reason why you might think the email is genuine.

I have had this done to me twice from people from gumtree but thank God I always suspect it.

Just been scammed for the first time in my life, and it dont feel good! Pamela Hogan. I would like to get my hands on this person. Exactly the same convincing emails as already mentioned. It was for a herman miller computer chair, that I had been saving up to buy for my daughter. This person is the lowest of the low. I explained via email I Couldn't be in for delivery Friday as I had a funeral to go to. The mind boggles

Same happened to me today. Helen Watson she's called herself. I got all the parcel force emails and unfortunately believed them to be real, won't be making the same mistake twice, £90 down and gutted. This person wants shooting.

'Pamela Hogan' just got me too... £180 for a dagger crazy 88 on gumtree.  I'm pretty damn annoyed with myself.  It was a sunday so no-where was open to phone and check (and I believed the delivery was booked for monday 9am)

This is 'her' current google+ account: https://plus.google.com/100371012345724033565/about.

I got exactly the same email as Wardyxx, word for word.  And I too was completely unfamiliar with UKASH, it seemed a bit strange but when so many corner shops near me offered it I figured it was just my lack of knowledge.  And I trusted the long string of friendly emails.  As soon as I realised I phoned UKASH to get the vouchers blocked but they had already been cashed.  They advised me to call the International Fraud Hotline and report it.  As a department of the police, they gave me a crime reference number and had a 15 minute chat where I told them everything I knew about her.  I know i'm unlikely to get the money back but hopefully it will help stop others getting caught.

I'll pass this forum page on to the Fraud Hotline, they were keen for more information and I think this many people posting might kick somebody into action to do something about her!

Just out of interest, has anyone succeeded in getting their money back?

Yeh i've been stung by Pamela75Hogan@gmail.com for £150.  Impact gun ordered, e-mails believed to have been genuine didnt take me long to realise it was a scam. Just wished i realised before i paid.  I have complained to Gumtree, the police, Action Fraud, Trading Standards, but none of them will be interested i suppose.  It would be an idea for Gumtree to put clearer warnings to people about these scams. Wont be dealing with Gumtree again thats for sure.

Join the club.............as a company owner I have seen and dismissed many badly worded scams, but got caught by this Pamela Hogan one, to the tune of £550, only suspected something the morning of the delivery, it all seemed so plausible! Probably not legal but can't we all get together and put out an International hit??

I nearly fell for this, but luckily got suspicious when I too could not reply to the text message.
I did a google on the email address pamela75hogan@gmail.com which led me here.

I have reported the Viking VK30 metal detector to Gumtree. But why are Gumtree allowing these sellers without doing any checks ??
They are keen to advertise Gumtree on TV and take peoples money, but not so damn keen to do quick and easy security checks on sellers.

Shame on Gumtree if you ask me.

Good look tracing the IP !
He/She is using a local mail server, so it sends a routers IP address = untraceable.

They are still at it. She has a cross trainer in York advertised on gumtree. Her first response to a question about the item felt wrong and so I google her email pamela75hogan and found this thread. Let's hope she gets caught soon. I expect it's Nigeria

Hey guys, just thought i'd post this as she/he/whoever has a gibson les paul traditional (Iced tea finish) up for £500 on gumtree. Has anyone recieved a direct email from her? If so, if you view the source you can find the IP origin of the email and with that you can trace back the IP address.

I  might 'get in touch' with her/him to let her know that im interested and then work out where she/he is. If i can work it out I'll post it on here straight away!

    Hi Mate,

I very nearly got conned out of £500 for a Gibson les paul (pamelahogan75@gmail.com). I do however work in an IT department an I'm knowledgeable about tracing IP's where it may not be available in the standard HTML header of the email. When i say i nearly got conned i mean i came across this page before getting in touch with her but since reading this ive messaged her again to see if she's still selling the item and if i can buy it... i'm hoping that any recieved email will help locate this scumbags whereabouts.

    Hi guys,

I've just been hit by the scam sent by the emails of pamela75hogan@gmail.com

Luckily mine was only £50 but either way I'm annoyed that something like this can happen.

Don't think I will get the money back but will do everything to ensure people don't become victims of this case.

The scam I got done by was this as seen on gumtree

    http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/apple-ipod- ... ery-item-full-2

Has anyone managed to get their money back from this? I myself can't see it happening.
