Same here - message telling me I'm 'fu**in' c**t. This may well be the case, but I don't need to be reminded by text. I couldn't resist replying - stupid, because I've probably been charged a huge amount.

I was likewise  received a text informing me that I had subscribed to "tonesuwant" at a cost of £1.50 a month.  I contacted the company who alleged that I had requested a subscription on 1 December.  This is nonsense.  I have never knowingly subscribed to this service and although they have agreed to refund the charge and "cancel"  the alleged subscription I remain alarmed  that this could happen without my knowledge.
I would urge anyone with a similar experience to report to Phonepay Plus who regulate all payments made via phone.  They can contacted at:

    www.phonepayplus.org.uk

Do complain - these companies can be stopped if enough people flag up what is happening.

For those who wish to contact the company head quarters,  Phone pay list them as:

    Zamano Ltd
    Bedford Chambers
    The Piaza
    Covent Garden
    London
    WC2E 8HA
    Tel: 0845 225 2244
    cs@zamano.com

PhonepayPlus also offer a free service for mobiles if you want  to check the cost and provider of a number. To quote " All you need to do is open a new text message, type the number or text shortcode that you want to check into the body of the message and send it off to 76787.  It is free to use and PhonepayPlus will text you back with all of the relevant information."

Arghhh somone please help me... I'm so annoyed!!

I've just recieved 4 messages, one after the other, from the number 07802000332 (sender 81666), saying:
Failed Message on Jan  3 2009 : We have increased  your SMS message count by 10

Each time it's taken £1.00 off me!!! Argggh! Is there any way to stop these texts and get my money back??

Thanks... p.s, has anyone been in contact with o2 about this?

I've been getting text messages and WAP messages from this number for a couple of months, and similarly I haven't ever subscribed to anything.  The content is similar to described, usually pornographic, although today's was 'is this ur mate'

Unlike most people here, I'm on 3 Mobile, although I did port the number from 02 a couple of years ago.  So I rang 3 Mobile up today, they're basically refusing to investigate it, they told me that having the phone number was not enough information.  GET THIS - she then advised me to ring the number or click on the wap link to get more information!!!  I told her I wasn't willing to ring a scam number up, and she said that Three had no way of doing it!

I asked her who I complain to, she wasn't aware of who regulated the mobile phone industry, sigh...

Next step is a letter to the chief exec of Three (I think it's a man called Kevin Russell).  I'm sure that mobile phone companies have a duty to investigate this sort of thing.  Imagine how many kids are getting this kind of thing through.

I have received a statement from O2 for my mobile use in Italy throughout Christmas and New Year. The number 07802000332 appears hundreds of times, some with 00secs duration, some with 01 seconds duration.

The threads above seem to suggest different reasons for this. Can anyone confirm that these are in fact text messages sent by me via an O2 generic text number?

    Many thanks

We have found this number on most of our company mobile bills this month, with 170 charged text messages, no-one knows where they have come from, so we are going to speak to our supplier.

Just received a text from 07786201212 from message centre +447802000332.

    It said:

" [15.04]AA: To help you as quickly as possible we will send PARAGON Autocare - EBS, they aim to arrive by 15.40. Do not reply to this message"

    How odd!

Looks like a message from the AA telling someone broken down at the North area of the M1 that Paragon Autocare Emergency Breakdown Service is coming instead of an AA patrol.     That does not indicate that AA or Paragon are behind the number - only that they have access to use it.     Perhaps someone with AA connections can help?

Received text messages from 07542 120523 with this number 07802000332 as message centre.
It said "Our records indicate u maybe entitled to 5000 pounds in compensation for the Accident your had. To claim 4 free reply with CLAIM to this msg. 2 stop txt STOP"
I did have an accident which gave compensation 21 years ago! so I know this had to be a scam and am glad I did a search on internet.
    DON't be fooled.

Text message reporting to be from LLoyds TSB asking me to ring an 0845 number.
Got suspicious knowing that the bank did not have my mobile number. I rang my branch and was told it was a genuine number. It took me an hour to clarify that the bank did not send me this text? I did however use up quite a bit of credit over £6 to clarify this.
if you get any messages from this number just ignore.LLOYDSTSB
