i think it's NDR (northern debt recovery) thats the debt company orange use to get the money off people who dont pay their bills :(

just had them call me and said they were orange. wanted me to confirm my bank details as the name on my bank was differnet to name on contract. i then explained they werent different and that its the same bank i have used to pay my bill with orange for last 5 years and there has never been a problem and that i find it pretty rude that someone actually thinks i'm stupid enough to give someone who has called me my bank details over the phone. they thanked me for my time and hungup. is it actually orange?

i just got a call from this number saying that i have been sending explicit content to people when i just got my sim 5 mins ago, now im being asked if i want a insurance on my sim if it gets stolen, its a pay as you go, people can do what they want to it. get another one for free,

I got 2 calls in a row from them earlier, and they left a voicemail saying "Hi this is Mark calling from Orange, just referencing the issue you had with your erm.." then he paused and said "Nokia. I've got one in my hand obviously and I'll try and give you a call back later."
This is kinda weird as I have never in my life owned a Nokia, nor am I the account holder for the phone soooo yeah, scam.

my son keeps getting calls from this number,,, GOOGLED it and was told its UPS PARCEL TRACKER,he's 14 so why would he be tracking a parcel,,, JUST STOP CALLING HIM..!!!!!!!!!

I had a call from this number this afternoon, I never answered it because I do not answer unknown numbers. This is a scam, if I answered it I wouldn't be surprised if I had been charged. It is not Orange. But whoever it is, seems to have certain details of the people they are targeting. I will now report this number to Orange, and explain the situation to them. Orange will not call anybody with this number, and they will never try to sell you insurance from a cold phone call as such. As you're bank will tell you, "never give you're bank details over the phone".

I just received a call from this number and nobody spoke when I answered the phone. I got a contract with Orange in December, so previous comments may be relevant - however I am not behind on my payments?

Ive had them every day, sometimes twice for the last 7 days, annoying to say the least

suggest if this was orange proper and not a sub contractor, it would actually come up 'orange' on caller id, as has in past when i've dealt with them.

07973 is i believe and orange code and number being quite low looks official.

its rung me twice, once i missed and found in missed calls, and just now
when answered in time but was silent./dead.

i dont entertain handset insurance, and see no reason for ncr or who ever
to contact so smell a scam.

I called it back from another phone and it went straight into answer machine saying that a member of Orange Customer Service had called and they would try and call again and no action was required from me. The interesting thing was that the answer machine female voice did sound exactly like the normal Orange answer machine voice so it sounds as though it is genuinely Orange.

But I basically never answer anyone on my mobile unless I know the number and want to speak to them. I figure that if it's important they'll leave a message and if not then I don't need to worry about it and will thereby avoid a lot of wasted time talking to scammers and such like.

Yes, I'm getting calls from this number on my landline. Sure it's not Orange as they would ring my mobile number (I'm an Orange customer) Must be a scam avoiding TPS

I just got this call a few seconds ago... seems its been going on for almost 3years.

they had rang me several times over the weekend and had not spoken.. then today when they rang they asked for my mother (who's name they gave in full) I was weary of this number as I had read this page so I told them she was not around.
I have just been into an orange shop and they told me this was there customer services number and that there may have been connection problems which is why they had not spoke.. and they had asked for my mother as my phone is registered in her name..
they were ringing as my insurance policy expires soon and they want to renew it.

THIS IS NOT A FAKE CALLER, IT IS ORANGE!! they will ring if your bill is overdue or they want money for one thing or another.. in my case to renew my insurance policy!

hey, 07973 does not necessarily mean orange, as my old number started with this!
but in this case it is orange, I went into store and they verified the number.

I keep getting calls from this number as well, has rang 3 times in the last 10 minutes, when you answer there is no-one there, it is getting bloody annoying, next time they ring they are gonna get a piece of my mind, I am going to Email Orange customer services and tell them what I think of their unsolicited calls and say that unless it stops I am going to another provider

Had a call from this number 5 minutes ago..didn't know the number so let it go to answer phone just heard a couple of northern sounding lads having a convo and using alot of foul language...shall save the recorded msg for any future ref with whoever is using the number :o)

I got a call from this number today - about an hour after visiting an orange shop to discuss a possible upgrade. The lady on the line was polite, knew my name, how much I paid a month, my address and the fact that I was now due an upgrade on my current contract. All pretty convincing.

The problem was that she spent a fair amount of time telling me how rubbish the "other" orange staff were and how only she, on the Orange Loyalty team could offer me this fantastic deal on the phone I wanted, double talktime and unlimited internet for £15 less per month than I am currently paying. She told me that only 10% of Orange customers will get this call and it's a one time thing, I either accept it now or they'll never offer it again.

last year around the same time I got a call from someone saying they were from Orange and - long story short - when I asked that guy a few questions he started shouting and swearing at me. So this time I was a little more wary. She couldn't explain why I had been singled out, couldn't explain why I couldn't call back to take advantage of the deal, couldn't explain why if she was going to "note my file" as she kept stating (threatening?) that I wouldn't be able to see that on my online account or why if she was calling from Orange that her number didn't show up that way on my phone.

I really wish I had been sitting at my computer when I received the call as I would have liked to hear her explanation for her number showing up on websites like this.

I didn't think it was worth the gamble as I'm a firm believer that if something sounds too good to be true then it probably is and you're going to get conned.

The whole thing is pretty unsettling, I'm paranoid enough about who holds my data, this really doesn't help.
