The reason the line goes dead when you pick up the phone is that they are testing the line.  When I say test the line, they bombard loads of numbers and if no-one answers they leave it to ring out.  If you answer you know the line is live.  If you phone it back they know the line is live.  Then they call you back and try and sell you anything or everything.  From changing your contract (which you still have) even on PAYG to insurance.  They work on bonus so they will try and get the most out of you.  With PAYG its easy to buy a cheap sim and then if not needed its thrown away or left not used. They dont have access to your phone usage so just ignore the calls and after a few times of trying they go away till the next time they buy an updated list from Orange of which lines are live.

hubby got a call from this number today saying they were from orange. They asked for the last 4 digits and a password. Hubby refused, do not answer

Received a call - answered it and could hear busy office background noise - no-one spoke but me repeating hello - line went dead after 10 seconds (exactly).

As someone who has received abusive calls for no reason, I have had to change my numbr 4 times. Orange have really upset me selling it on as I get ill when unrecognised numbers call me. I should sue them for emotional distress!

I got a call from this number twenty minutes after I had been harassed by phones4you (number 08448710526)about purchasing insurance for my phone and lucky enough I had read all notes on number.  I didn't answer the call from this number 07973100194 as I now gather it would have been Orange harassing me about phone insurance.

For info:  I purchased a contract phone on Orange from Phones4you approx 2 weeks ago and Phones4you have called me most days.

I cant tell you what they were going to say as they said - hello, is this connor, i said yes, they hung up.

just had a missed call on my phone from this number - ignored it as I was working. No vm left - now that I have read everyone else comments I think I will ignore it from now on...!

I got a call but been picked up

Just had a cold call from this number. Sounded like an auto dialer which made me suspicious. The Irish woman said she was from Orange and wanted to "run through" some details of a new contract that I'd recently started directly with Orange. When she asked me for characters from my password I challenged who she worked for and said that I didn't recognise the number. Not convinced by her response, she said she would add a note to my account to say that I'd failed their security checks and hung up.

Given that I started this contract with Orange directly I can only conclude that they have sold me out to these people which is really disappointing.

Be very careful what information you give out to cold callers!

Got a call today from that number, i guess its orange? also got a voicemail which i cant listen to yet

I was not able to answer the call but have an answer phone message of a lady with call centre noise behind her saying Hello...Hello......Heeeeeelllllllllo  as if I have called her - I think the computer must call us then connect it to their headsets, thus she had no idea she was on my answer phone!

Oh and ditto what someone else said - I just recently changed my number to STOP abusive personal calls. The last thing I want now is to be harassed by Orange!

I have had a call from them the past to days round 8 in the morning! never answer numbers i dont no though, am only on PAYG but don't know if it is anything to do with applying for a job with orange; since recieving a email about getting a interview, that has been when the calls have started!

this number called me at lunch time and after a few seconds of the autodialer connecting a guy starts speaking to me. Do i have time to answer a few questions. I entertained him for a bit, but after he banged on about how do i rate the Orange 150 automated dailing service on a scale of 1-5, i let him know that this was the most pointless questionaire ive ever participated in. He said "i find that hard to believe", so i hung up.

Losers. Dont give out any info to be on the safe side, but pretty harmless i think, just annoying.

I don't ever answer calls from numbers I don't recognise or don't have saved in my phone, so I ignored it and text it after it rang off. No reply, so I assume it doesn't receive, or something.

Good job I googled it really. I'm not the account holder anyway, so if they wanted to speak with me I would have been a tad suspicious

- Had missed calls from this # before. Probably testing the line.
- Was called today at 16h30. Operator offered a service review
- Operator asked for orange pin code confirmation.
- After I told them I couldn't remember that, they asked for birth date confirmation.
- I decided I didn't want a service review and they suggested I change my pin.

Obviously not Orange. Getting their info from Orange either from public sources or leaks. Think identity theft/fraud. Operator had northern accent - not Geordie but similar.

Why call if they dont want to talk... and want me to hold on until they finished and un hold me. Its not automated as my answer phone kicked infor 4minutes, they obviously didnt have the phone to their ear! its bloody harrassment. Mine is about my contract i know that as it end in two weeks BUT i called them and they have sent a PUk out to me as i dont like their service so am changing anyway!!! The most annoying people ever and they always call in work hours!!!! if i dont answer normally in work hours then dont keep trying if i am able to answer they will be getting a mouthful!!!

He/She rang me on Friday morning  from  this number 07973100194. i didnt aswer it but i keep getting calls off diffrent numbers but when i aswered the call i couldnt hear the woman speaking so i put the phonoe down but rings me on the way to school but i didnt aswer it and it rings about 1 or 2 in the morning

i get calls from this number but it doesn't come up on my call log as either calls receieved or missed calls.....  just get a text saying this number called and didn't leave a message..if it's Orange they're getting it ... sick to death of them now...
