You can block a caller with some phones - depends on the model.

Otherwise just put the number in your phone's address book an give it a name like "Do not answer" or something similar.

Someone Rang me saying they were from orange and y had I given them a bad rating on there services I had rang orange to c y my bbm wasn't working but tht was all~it was sorted got me then an hour or later I get a call from this numberi after I disclnected the call because the man was making no sense at all my balance came up on screen as £0.00 strange as I had just topped up by a £5 voucher I rang orange bk and was told basically they can't do anything for me thank you orange and anyone else they have rang plz check ur phone bills AD THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have rung orange on 150 to find out if 07973100194 is an orange customer service number, and the number is not on the system. Please be aware when answering to this number, as it is not genuine.

This number is 100% genuine, it's the number they called me back on to finish the processing of my order.  I tried calling it, as I had another query, and it said Orange had tried calling, and there's no need to contact them back.

For those of you worrying, there's no need!  There really are some doom mongers on here.  Probably people who owe too much money and are paranoid people are out to get/scam them

I recently got a contract phone for my daughter with Carphone Warehouse, took out their insurance but then she got a call (which I took) from 'NCR' undercutting the original insurance - asked me for my card details etc etc I told her I thought it was very dodgy and ended the call.  Surprise, surprise, today I have contacted Orange about my upgrade - sorted this out, but then shortly afterwards received a call from 07973100194 - missed the call but it seems to tie in to the insurance scam info from other posts.  BEWARE!!

Have been getting a couple of calls from this number but have ignored it.  Having read the posts on here I will continue to ignore it.  I am with Orange.

I have had a call from this number today for the first time. I will just ignore it. If they want to say something, they can leave a message

this number called my Y'day saying there were orange, an they wanted to upgrade my contract/phone (its about the time too) asked only for the first 2 letters of my orange account password and the rest was done..

just loged onto orange.co.uk to see if i had been scammed and no i haven't, all the details have been changed accordingly and no scam has takne place..

This number is the outbound calling number for Orange Customer Services. 07973 100 is the prefix for Orange Customer Services. When you call back it will just give the automated message saying they will call back. You will hear as well it is the same person on the automated message as all other IVR's.

It is in no way, shape or form a scam. You will most likely get a call from them if you are due an upgrade, or if you have recently had some contact with Orange customer services, and replied 0-6 to a customer service text.

If you don't want to get calls from Orange then if your PAYG dial 07973 100 450 or PAYM dial 07973 100 150 and ask to opt out of contact permission. This will mean no more calls from the network, unless you specifically ask for one.

Why the blazes should it cost to opt out of being phoned when Orange took liberties phoning me in the first place? It's (currently) 25p for PAYG customers to call the suggested 07973 100 450 !!! OFTEL etc are getting paid for doing zilch and I hate the lot of them. GRRRrrrrr....!!!!!

Called me saying I'm within 3 months of contract end (accurate) and offering new contract and better terms.  I said I didn't have time and would go to the website, then he said I'd get better terms from him.  I said again that it was not convenient and hung up.  

The phone showed the number, whereas genuine messages from Orange come up showing the company name.  My guess is a former employee of Orange or Carphone Warehouse.

I had a call from this number yesterday. The call was from a jolly sounding man who claimed to be from Orange and wanted to let me know that I may be better off on a contract than pay as you go due to the amount I was spending roughly each month.

After going through a couple of options (one that included a free phone) I said I would prefer to see what the free phone looked like first before committing to anything and that if I wanted to proceed then now wasn't convenient for me as I was due to go out and the call had already lasted 15 mins (wasn't fobbing him off - I really did need to go out!).  I suggested maybe he could call back the next day when I would have more time, only to be told in a rather disgruntled manner that he wasn't in tomorrow (how convenient!), then he rather rudely ended the call.  He was obviously rather annoyed that he'd gone to the trouble to explain to me what my options were but miffed that I wasn't prepared or able to do anything about it at that moment in time.

Spoke to orange through 150.. trying to get my upgraded that I cancelled money refunded they said they would call me back. Got a call back through this number and the guy asked me for full debit card details. I gave him then he said it would be sorted soon should I be worried?

You should never give out card details over the phone.

Contact your bank immediately and tell them to freeze the account, you could have any amount taken.

THIS IS NOT ORANGE! in any way shape or form. PERIOD!
The calls have started again in line with me searching for vehicle insurance deals.
I strongly suspect that my details have been gleaned from one of the comparison sites.
I now block these calls using a FREE Android App called Call Filter, available on the Android Market.
It blocks "Unknown" numbers and any others you care to specify, sending them straight to Voice Mail without ringing and leaving your phone to receive those calls that you do want.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure to see that I've bumped these guys straight to VM. Hah!

Just suggest that anyone you know who prefers to withhold their phone number add 1470 when they dial you.
