i rang the number - they keep on silent calling me at work - the message says "we are a marketing company...on behalf of sky. We apologise for any inconvenience...if we need to contact you we will call at another time".

There is definitely no need for them to be calling me on my work phone at any time and this is definitely not a good marketing strategy!

To remove your number from the 08000 483 792 company:

Call 08000 324 617and choose Option 1 to remove your number from their system.

This company is not Sky themselves, but a marketing company for them. I called Sky and they removed me from that list using the 08000 324 617 number.  They said pass this info along to everyone as the last thing they want is their customers annoyed by these phonecalls and possibly leaving them because of it!  Hope this is useful to someone.  Best regards, Liz

I have found a solution to stop the calls.

This number was phoning my mobile so I knew it was them calling, what I did was answer the phone but did not say anything, I left the phone off the hook and all I heard was silence, after exactly 10 seconds they hung up. About 30 seconds later they rang again and I did exactly the same thing, once again they hung up after exactly 10 seconds. They have not rang since, it has been 9 days now without any calls so it looks like they have got the message.

I wish this idiot would stop calling, or at least have the balls to speak to me when I pick up! Every day at the same time for weeks now.

I love how [***] you people are on here.
When you join a company lets say oh I dont know sky.
you give direct permission to be called about marketing promotions.
TPS only stop unsolicited calls, so calls from people you have no assosiation with.
As everyone on here has at one point or another been with sky, you have all given permission.
So the only way to stop these calls is to never join any company for a service or bank etc.. or you will get these calls.

Oh and im getting these calls.
P.s. Dont ever try telling them your dead or they will delete you account and pass this on to other companys you have assosiation with.

Call every day, if I answer no one is there it's very annoying!

i did what liz says, says it's been removed now but may take up to 24 hours, so fingers crossed.

Sky insurance - very persistant about insurance and tried to 'force' money over the phone.  Asked that they send in post to review and make a decision whetehr I want or not - still bloody phoning - no mail received.  Must be a con!!!!!!

Hoping this works - I remember already removing myself from their cold calling list a year ago, and if this is just another number belong to the listening company, UGH

I am registered with TPS but have begun to receive calls on a daily basis from this number, all silent when picked up,  However I beleive that TPS will only screen out if you haven't given your number or contacted them, which if it's SKY is highly likely.  Sky are the culprits here, so the advice to report to OFCOM seems a good idea to me.  I work in a care home and have found that they are ringing our residents and as vulnerable some have taken out multiple warranties for sky equipment, so unfair and taking advantang makes me really cross.

23 times they called me one after another but i have there number on my reject list

Called me just now, answered it and they gave me a very good deal. whole sky sports package for £9.99 a month for 3 months.
Very happy as I was going to subscibe to Sky Sports this week anyway in time for the Heineken Cup, and would have paid full price (£18.99??) without this call.

This has worked for me 3 years running - cancel sky sports in april, then by October they call me offering a good deal.

had 2 calls in as many days ignored it, am on TPS so why do i keep getting calls from marketing people, most annoying.

I've had 8 calls from this number they don't leave any messages and when I pick up the line is dead. I have reported this number to TPS.

3 dead calls now this week - 1st in evening about meal time and others in afternoon. Driving me mad! Thanks for comments -  will not answer now and see how long it goes on for until I decide to get a new number! I've been with Sky for 3 years now so why start now??

Jeezzzz i keep getting this number calling me...good job I have caller id so i dont answer but every day 2-3 times a day for over two weeks....i am reaching boiling point now..........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh who is it?

This number has called me twice in two days; yesterday and today. I've ignored it, as I ignore calls from any number I don't recognise.

I have just received a phone call from this number claiming to be sky. They ran through my details (address name password) and then ran through my packages and any complaints i had. Being wary after i'd seen this forum i rang sky from my landline. Sky confirmed that it was a legitimate call, and the customer services guy i'd spoke to had left his footprint on my account and he was calling from sky. He had made all of the appropriate changes i'd asked for.

Please don't ignore this number, they are legitimate and its just a customer services call to see how you are! :)

Calls me with silence who do i complain to the police or offcom?
