This number called my landline today. I didn't answer and came here to check as I didn't recognise it.
I was wondering how they got hold of my landline number as I don't give it out, however last night I went on to the O2 website to check out their Home Broadband deals and it asks you to enter your landline number under "Check Your Broadband Speed" which I did. This all seemed innocent enough but looking again today I found a statement in very small print below the speed checker stating they will use the number to call you and there is also a link to a privacy policy which states that you agree that O2 can pass on your phone number to third parties. There is no option to opt out of this so beware.

Theyv been ongoingly ringing me for the past week and when I pick up rhey dont talk I hope it is not a money scam

Ive now put a block on this number as they are a pain ringing all the time.

I've just had a look through this thread in the hopes of finding out who these twerps are BUT.......everyone has taken it for granted having a mobile is the problem as the company is O2.  I don't have and have never had a mobile.

Had two calls today.  The first one I rejected, the 2nd time I just let it rang.  I've been told if you don't respond they take it that the number is dead and maybe (just maybe) they will leave you alone.  

Have done it with PPI texts and it works!! but can't guarentee it works with calls.  They're just fishing.

I suggest you pick a tune that you love to listen to and let it ring, after all it's their money......

i would like to know who was calling me

This number phones me at least 6 times a day and I am getting really peed off with it, whoever it is has even taken to phoning my mobile.  I am now at the stage the I refuse to answer numbers that I do not recognise or start 0845 - 08000,

these people are paid to act like nobs

There are over 1200 calls about this number and a large number of them tell you who this call is from.  There is even quite good information on the page before your post.

i use call control app on my mobile its free and paid , i just block all them numbers with it.

Have rung me several times whilst I was at work this week, have not answered due to being at work.
