- ana k replies to maureenHi, i have fallen for them idiots today!! they completely fooled me and i gave them my bank details. Tell me what happened with ur bank. were u able to cancel direct debit with ur bank easily??
- notsostupid| 2 replieshad call from no. 02073451299 who then gave me another number for my records. 08448802598. His name was 'Mark Williams'. told me all about the euromillions , got me to confirm my details he had were correct. He told me i had entered a prize draw to win an Ipad or something of that nature. I had not entered any competition so i suppose i mislead him, and for that i am so sorry and probably wont go to heaven. anyway we got to the bit were he explained to me how it worked and that for £44 per month paid by direct debit i could join the draw on 15 july. So all i had to do was give him my account details, YoHo. When i told him i would not give him my account details he more or less told me i was foolish to worry as if anyone wanted such details they could steal my post deliveries and would get any details they wanted. Indeed they could just go to autobank machine and pick up any receipt of withdrawls and get the details from that. Well I told him that any bank i deal with would never have such detail on the receipt. He disagreed and wanted to know what bank i was with. When I confirmed to him that I did not 'come up the Lagan in a bubble', he got a little agitated and said i had wasted his time and mine. I have plenty to waste so I am not perturbed, and his 'company' are paying the phone bill. I must apologise for taking the 'proverbial' out of him, but i enjoyed the call and feel a good deal of satisfaction knowing I had really peeved him off. No doubt I'll be on a black list now and expect to get numerous annoying calls but no problem there, if they are annoying me they are leaving someone else alone.

- privett replies to Aaron| 1 replyjust had a phone call saying i have just won 50.000 dollers from the europium lootery
they also mention that they need 250pounds for tax perpases but in a cash vouture
can this be tru deliverey is next monday have spoken to the person before when i usede to do the lootery
i have his name and tel no can this be true
privett - Nan replies to privettFirstly, lottery winnings are not taxed. Have they have told you to get a voucher and they will bring a cheque on Monday and take the voucher? If they have the voucher will be checked as soon as you habd it over and the cheque will "bounce" when you bank it. Another trick is to to ring you and ask for the voucher number "to prove you have got it". If you do that they can cash the voucher immediately and no-one will turn up with a cheque. There is a warning on Ukash vouchers not to give the number over the 'phone as the voucher is just like cash. Either way, this has all the hallmarks of a scam.

- PennyCThis number 020 7345 1299, called my mobile humber and I spoke to someone called Natasha. They say that I entered into a competition to win an Ipad or £10,000. The winner has already been notified by email> and all other participants who entered into this compettions are being contacted by phone so they can have further chances of other draws. Best thing to do is to get the name of the person who is speaking to you, ask for your number to be removed from their database. This number is a scam, and there is no proof of any winners. It might be worth getting them to stop all phone calls, remove you from the database and get them to send any information by email ONLy as you have things in writing, and always good to have a trail of communication rather than verbal only.
Overall, DO NOT give your bank account details out to anyone, nor confirm your identity, date of birth, or address details.- Caller: DTD

- moniqueHi, I have constantly been recieving calls from the number 02073451299, I never used to answer it as I don't answer numbers I don't recognise but today I answered and was told I could win an I pad, an audi A3 or £10,000, I was suspicious as I've always been told "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is" but I stayed on the line and listened anyway. The man was very polite, his name was trevore and addressed me as "love" which I know call centres don't do as it can offend some customers, they are supposed to address us by our names which is another thing that got me suspicious, he also told me that he could enter me into the euro millions lottery and I would get about 200 odd tickets a month for just £44 a month but don't have to pay anything until january. I told him that I didn't trust him ahd he understood and assured me that ofcom support them and that he could lose his job if he mislead me, so I carried on listening, picked my "lucky lotto numbers and then he forwarded me to his manager, who then asked for my bank details, as soon as he did this I hung up the phone, searched for them on google and found this, I'm so glad I didn't fall for it as I am a single mother on benefits, these people just don't care who they rip off, sad .

- Lee replies to Oh heck| 1 replyI was also called today from the 0207-3451299 London based number and received this call at least 3 times per day. I ignored it for days and then out of shere frustration wanted to get rid of this number calling my number. I was horrified that they had my address, email address and dob. I asked immediately where he would have got these details and apparently I entered a competition to win an Ipad, Audi or some other lie.
What can I do to ensure they don't take money out of my account as I never gave them any details, but they seem to know that I shopped online etc so I don't think that will stop them.
Any advise will be most appreciated.
Thanks - ali ness replies to Leei got the same message a few hours ago we must remember that when we enter compettions companies sell our info on to things like lthis.
